There was a lot of censorship of the arts, including music, in Nazi Germany. the music of Gustav Mahler and Felix Mendelssohn was banned as they were both Jews. Jazz was also banned.

Chopin's music was banned, not so much because he was Polish, but because his music represented Polish themes and a desire for independence. After the invasion of Poland the Nazis even blew up a statue of him in Warsaw. This was part of their attempt to destroy the concept of Polishness.

Hitler may have spoke nobly at times for his people, but I can see a real cunt like a Rosenberg, or some other 'man' running around in brown felt trying to tell the Germans that Chopin is shit.

You get my yay for the banning of nigger jazz, you get my yay for banning tacky Jew performers in cabaret, blah blah, and mass entertainment, but you do not get my yay on this one; rather a HUGE nay.

Cunts. I'd love to see how the ban was reasoned. Even the most grouchy Wagnerite that would nitpick on Verdi for some nuance in style, would be an utter nut to call Chopin trash that should be banned. Insanity.

To top it off, Chopin was a rabid anti-semite! ĦAy, caramba!
