England and Wales Cricket Board tells young cricket players in Britain on how they must use their "freedom" of association. English boys and girls are told that they must rewrite their clubs' constitutions to prevent racial discrimination and that the constitution must attach penalties for non-compliance. The message is delivered in that Scoutmaster's "I am experienced/I know everything" confident tone.

Here is the wording you should use:

"Membership shall be open to all irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, creed, colour, social status and sexual orientation. you are now required to have this wording in place by 1st April 2003."

Disability???? Age???? Is this about playing cricket or what?

Maybe this is supposed to be funny. Why don't they put height, weight, IQ on there to be really thorough.

They also should put something in about winning being the same thing as losing, the important thing is to get some fresh air and exercise. (As in Levin's "This Perfect Day".)

Here in England - the motherland of liberty - we are

one, free to agree with the doctrines of equality,
and
two, er, that's it.
