Even by Hollywood's often wacky standards, Uma Thurman and financier beau Arpad Busson raised the bar when it came to picking a name for their first child together last year.
But the actress has revealed there was a simple logic behind the couple's decision to saddle their baby daughter with no fewer than five first names - Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence - and a nickname, Luna.
The 42-year-old Kill Bill beauty told NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon it was her 14-year-old daughter Maya's idea.
'[Maya] came up with the best excuse, [which] was that I probably wouldn’t get to have any more children, so I just put every name that I liked into [Luna's],' the Playing for Keeps star said.
The actress's daughter, born in July last year, will be known simply as Luna, although she will take the double-barrelled surname Thurman-Busson, as her parents have not yet married.
'The last part makes sense right?' Uma laughed.
'We couldn't quite agree on the name. We call her Luna so she's lucky that way.'
