In constrast to Northerners, our forced contact with such foreigners is relatively recent. As we speak we're working to prevent the type of impact that these racial meetings have had upon the Meds. But for them, it's a part of their history in the fairly distant past.

Personally I think this leaves a lot of them feeling helpless and frusterated, so, they act out like this. There are ways to solve this... we as Northerners could definately stand to go easier on them through hard times... I do feel bad for them. But I think that if we as white Europeans are to have a successful future, the "cleaner" Meds are going to need to work toward political separation. North/South Italy is a good example of this.
