Short summary: proxies forward traffic on to you, so the IP that shows up at the site you're accessing is the IP of the proxy. By far the best proxy site I have seen, yet you have to register should be no biggie don't be lazy, is http://pro.xxuz.com/, it goes by Country, and it gives you the status of each proxy. Usually 35% of the proxies work well on this site, and that's a great ratio for proxies.

Here is a nice site to check your browser info. Use it before you use a proxy to check your real ip address and then input your proxy server, go back to elfqrin and see if its working.

Is there a way to get around this

Linux Debian Linux has programs that do a good job of hiding proxy's I just can't figure out how to compile the source code to make them work.
