When I try to make a post, it says "thank you for your post blah blah we'll take you to see it now" and then it just takes me to the main page of the forums without any posts/threads by me. Is this something related to activation? How often do accounts get activated?

Does every member on the forums has to have his posts approved? Does this ever go away and turn into normal functioning forums?

You will be moderated for your first 50 or so posts, meaning a moderator will have to check your posts before they appear on the board.

Oh I see. Thanks for explaining that, I guess 50 is not so bad. Though in my opinion it would be nicer if it was down to a lower number such as 10. I don't see how any flaming immature moron would go through all that trouble just to eventually post a few comments to get deleted anyways.

We may lower it a bit. We have to protect against a-holes.
