When I go into the members list, I see a column titled "Reputation" which contains a small colored (usually green) box. I can not find any explanation for this. I even tried your search engine. What does it mean?

people can give each post a thumbs up or down. a green dot means your reply was favored, grey means disfavored. comments allowed. I have noticed of late however that I received at least 2 grey dots accompanied by positive comments, which seems to indicate that the process is sometimes not executed properly.

If you put your cursor over the little box it will say "Warlord (or whomever), is on a distinguished road" I haven't ever seen a bad one. That is all I know about the little green box. I think the more little green boxes you have, the better. I am not positive, but that is what I think.

Scroll the cursor across the second symbol from the left, next to the green dot under your avatar when you post.
To access reputation you recieved, use "User CP".

Thanks for the responses; I have a better idea of what it means. Similar to the reputation listings on ebay or half.com.

I hope it's possible to automatically add the sender to it. Especially easy for those with longer nicks than I have.

A.E.,
Is there some reason why reps are anonymous? Why would someone not want to reveal they liked what you said? Or even if they didnt like it?
Also , is it considered bad form to write a comment in the rep box?- I notice it isnt something people seem to bother with here . Not that I will stop doing it!
and how was your weekend? My youngest had a bad fever last night, so we are staying home today , no school,no park, no anything, and being utterly boring, no makeup,no hairdo, complete and total slackers..

I was trying to give Warlord a thumbs down because it struck me as funny. Couldn't figure out how, though. If you click the little scales, it only allows you to be positive. Which is also ok, I guess :(

Anon rep is a default setting for VB software. I dont know if thats changeable or not, but I do know at admin level it's not anonymous.
I get comments from people from time to time.

I hope someone in control of the VB software flicks a button so the name is automatically added to it. It's no big deal, though.

It's changeable, I'm just not quite sure if I remember how to do it.
From Admin CP navigation panel try vBulletin Options > User Reputation Options. If you can't make the change there then try:
Usergroups > Usergroups Manager and look for User Reputation Permissions.
And if that doesn't work then call Tom88 over at WR, that kid knows Vbulletin inside and out.
Edit: Vargs pretty bright..I bet he could figure it out.

Its kept anonymous to prevent 'revenge' wars from starting when a poster gives another neg reps. If folks want to be known, they can just add their nick in the comments field.

But wouldn't it help prevent "revenge wars" (I like the expression) if negative rep couldn't be given anonymously anymore? It would prevent kikenvermin infiltrators from doing harm by handing out negative revenge points with false names.

If someone is anonymous, the party that receives the neg rep won't know who to blame, consequently preventing a flame/revenge war .
If some interloper is giving lots of neg rep , I am guessing that the mods are bright enough to figure that out and take appropriate measures :)

Only cowards hand out anonymous negative rep,a very Jewish thing to do.
If you return the compliment but get the wrong person it can cause an unnecessary flame war. Also when receiving positive rep if it is anonymous one cannot return the gesture.
Let`s have an end to anonymous rep:it`s Jewish!
