Of course pedophiles go where they can find their prey. One good thing you can do to protect kids is make sure that there's always more than one adult watching them. Dont let them be alone with adults outside the family as much as is possible. At a minimum they need to be with other kids watching too.

Also note that these pervs prey on children they perceive to be weak or unpopular. And frequently those who do not have fathers involved in their lives.
