Dies Irae

I've been on the Atkins lifestyle for quite a while and I've gotten my weight down to where I want it just about, and have kept it there. However, I do wonder if I'm not ingesting too many calories for lack of carbohydrates. Although my carbohydrate intake has been minimal, I've been consuming quite a few calories in order to feel full. So, I've started a new diet, consisting of sandwiches. The sandwiches are filled with Atkins foods, such as meat, cheese, lettuce, etc., and an Atkins condiment such as mayo, though I'll be taking in carbs via whole grain bread. The carbs will help give me a sense of being full, and hence reduce my calorie intake. I'll be trading calories for some carbohydrates. Sound reasonable?
I know that people state that nuts as a somewhat low carb item should be added to the Atkins diet beyond the induction phase, but I don't care for nuts, so I've chosen bread instead. Besides, a slice of bread is more discrete than a handful of nuts, especially since it's tempting to grab a little more than one's allowance from a can, where as bread is not the same ala carte.
Thus far it's working. I have a sandwich for lunch, and two for dinner. Atkins foods on the inside, whole grain bread on the outside. So far, I feel just as full as if I'd had the inner contents of the sandwiches, plus pork rinds, extra cheeses, and other things.
I'll report how it turns out.
