Arrest in Jennifer Ross Murder Case

Police have made an arrest in the murder of 19-year-old Jennifer Ross. They are not releasing a lot of information at the moment in this high-profile case, but this afternoon they arrested Michael Thorpe, 25, who they say shot Ross.

Investigators say he is a key suspect and more arrests may follow.

Ross was shot in Orleans Square in Savannah on Christmas Eve. She was walking with some friends after going to a cotillion downtown when a group of men tried to mug them, then shot Ross in the stomach. She died on New Year's Day.

Police have been chasing down dozens of leads, and today Chief Willie Lovett says he is proud of their hard work.

"It was a diligent effort," he said. "The officers did a terrific job. Thanks to, in part, the community, with what tips that they gave and the information they provided for us, which enabled us to do this. But again, it was an effort between the community and the police."

Chief Lovett says that community response with police will continue, and more details about this case will be released in the coming days.

Suspect Named In Catering Company Killing
Police Wait For DNA Results

ARDMORE, Pa. -- It has been one week since Sarah Boone was beaten and stabbed to death at the catering company where she worked on the Main Line.
Now, Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor is asking for the public's help as police focus on Jaquin Byrd, who they are now calling a suspect.
Castor pointed to phone records taken from the crime scene of Cricket Catering in Ardmore which placed Byrd at the business the day of the homicide at 1:37 p.m.
"He tells police that on the day of the murder he was nowhere near the Ardmore area. We know that to be false because we got cell phone records which indicate that cell phone calls made from the cell phone that he tells his employer that he had with him the whole day, that the cell phone records show calls going to and from the phone and bouncing off the cell phone towers in the immediate vicinity of where the murder took place," Castor said.
According to a search warrant released Thursday, Byrd told authorities that he was not in Ardmore on the day of the crime. Castor said Byrd told them he called the catering company when he heard about the homicide.
"He said he saw on the 5 o'clock news that the murder had taken place and immediately after the newscast at 5:30 he telephoned the catering business to find out what had happened because he was in a state of disbelief. Well, in fact, he did make a telephone call to Cricket Catering, but it was made before 4:30 and it was a full half-hour before any news media broadcast any reference to this murder," Castor said.

The district attorney's office also released a surveillance photo showing what Byrd was wearing last Thursday. Byrd reportedly told police he was wearing a different outfit.
NBC 10 spoke with Byrd's lawyer, Joseph Santaguida. Santaguida said his client gave investigators an interview over the weekend.
On Tuesday, Byrd was brought back in to give a DNA sample. Sources told NBC 10 blood was left behind by the killer at the crime scene. Investigators want to see if it matches Byrd's DNA.
"They went to his house. They took bag loads of things out," Santaguida said.
Santaguida maintains his client is not guilty of Boone's murder. Byrd has not been charged.

I was in Savannah when this occured. My brother-in-law was one of the ER doctors that operated on this girl. For a time it looked like she was going to recover, but an artery ruptured near the bullet path.

I wouldn't put much creedence in what you read in the jewspaper about what the mother said, as it is typical jew-spin. This girl was part of white elite social structure of Savannah, and they are pushing levers to make the nigger mayor get his monkeys under control.

The only levers that could be pulled to fix this kind of problem are the ones that drop bunches of little pellets into an airtight chamber.
