S. Dakota legislature passes abortion ban

SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota (Reuters) - South Dakota became the first U.S. state to pass a law banning abortion in virtually all cases, with the intention of forcing the Supreme Court to reconsider its 1973 decision legalizing the procedure.

The law, which would punish doctors who perform the operation with a five-year prison term and a $5,000 fine, awaits the signature of Republican Gov. Michael Rounds and people on both sides of the issue say he is unlikely to veto it.

"My understanding is we are the first state to truly defy Roe v. Wade," the 1973 high court ruling that granted a constitutional right to abortion, said Kate Looby of Planned Parenthood's South Dakota chapter.

South Dakota ranked 46th in population in the US with an estimated total of 761,063

Of the South Dakotans who reported at least one specific ancestry in the 2000 census,
307,309 listed German,
115,292 Norwegian, 7
8,481 Irish,
53,2141 English,
and 35,655 Dutch.

It is about time Whites start standing up for themselves and put a stop to the murder of innocent babies.

Unless they pass a country-wide ban, I don't know that it would do much good. Almost anyone can find someone to give them a ride over the state line to get an abortion. :(

I agree and see this as a waste of time and money. Of course abortion is one of those gray areas of discussion, there is a time and place for abortion but when the women of today use it as a form of birth control then I am against it.

I would love to see Roe struck down and have the whole infanticide issue returned to the discretion of the states. It really stikes where the judeoliberals breath: their culture of death feminism.

I am far from kind when a white woman confides that she had an abortion, for any other reason than it would be life threatening, or rape. My ex sister-in-law had an abortion, and begged my ex to refrain from telling me about it, knowing quite well how I feel about such things.

With rape(by an evil white guy), that is a gray area for me. A child produced from rape could grow up to hunt down the rapist and avenge his/her mother. If it is a non-white rapist, then abortion is completely understandable.

Pro-choice whites are our enemies, and they are a threat to our race.

This is bad in a few different ways. A woman being forced to bring a child into the world that it was not, in any way, her choice to create. How will she possibly feel about the child? Not to even mention the child could be genetically predisposed to commit similar violent deeds.

That is why it is a gray area for me. If I was in a position that I could write and pass laws, I suppose I would leave the choice up to the rapevictim. I wouldn't want her to go through any more trauma than she already has.

I do know that there are cases in which the mother had the child, loved the child, and everything was fine. I also know of people who had abusive, alcoholic, drug abusing parents that grew up not acting in anyway like their parents.

There is no way of telling how the child would turn out.

A very gray area indeed...

If the white woman is pregnant with anything other than a white baby, even if it is through consensual sex, then I completely support her getting an abortion.

I completely favor the idea of the government paying for nonwhites to have abortions, instead of shelling out extra money each mud they crap out.

I would even be for giving the retartds a $1000 bonus if we could
super size that with an irreversible sterilization.

Hell, make that $10k.... that's nothing compared to what would be shelled out over the lifetime for even one niglet they might have.

Not to mention..could a woman look at the resulting child every day and see the actual child, and not its father..because I would think seeing that child would make her relive the rape constantly.

That would be a very sad reality for the child. And this is why it is better for the child as well as the mother if the child is not born.

I agree with you. We don't want or need any half-people running around.

It is white women aborting white babies that makes me feel wrathful.

I can understand your points of view. I suppose whether or not the child should live would depend on the mental constitution of the mother. While this scenario is a gray area for me, I would leave the decision up to the rape victim.

And for the record, I believe that rapists should be publicly whipped, and the option of doing the whipping and eventual executing would go to the rape victim/rape victim's family.

Saying the child got a minimum of $350 in government support, not counting medical and food stamps that would be $4,200 a year. Your $10,000 investment would make money the first 3 years.

There are people in this area that get welfare and when you count income, food stamps, extra money on housing, and medical the parent would get about $10,000 a year in benefits for each child. Now here is the kicker they can barely make a living and claim they can’t properly support their children. Yet these types of people always have DVD players and playstations ect.

Imagine if you were given $834 dollars a month for each child you had. Do you think there is a chance that you couldn’t properly provide for that child or children everything they would need to have a happy and healthy upbringing?

Exactly why I have no problems with abortion in cases of rape/incest. It's when people use abortions as "after the fact" birth control, I'm completely disgusted.

Incest is another excusable reason for abortion. Also, any parent molesting their child (or any child molester for that matter) should be tortured to death.

If the cost of living were to remain as it is now, then no, I don't see how one couldn't properly provide for children if they received $834 a month for each one.

Pierre, SD (LifeNews.com) -- A South Dakota Indian tribe is throwing a monkey wrench into the state's plans to ban virtually all abortions in the state. Should the ban become law, one tribe says it will open up an abortion business on their tribal lands, which wouldn't be subjected to the abortion ban.
Cecilia Fire Thunder, president of the Oglala Sioux tribe of South Dakota, says Sioux nation sovereignty means the new ban doesn't apply. As a result, she said she will lead an effort to build a Planned Parenthood abortion center at the Pine Ridge Reservation.

“To me, it is now a question of sovereignty,” she told Tim Giago who runs a web site called Indianz.com.

“I will personally establish a Planned Parenthood clinic on my own land which is within the boundaries of the Pine Ridge Reservation where the State of South Dakota has absolutely no jurisdiction," Fire Thunder said.

A former nurse and health care worker, Fire Thunder is the first woman president of the Sioux nation.

She told the web site that she is very angry that a a state legislature comprised mostly of white men "would make such a stupid law against women."

However, Clementine Little Hawk Hernandez, the founder of Indians for Life, says Native Americans historically favor pro-life values.

"Our native people have such a rich tradition which is at its heart the love and respect for all life," Hernandez said. "It's truly amazing how pro-life our Native People are."

"As Native Americans, we must stand up and witness that all life is a sacred gift from God," she added.

Hernandez is a Lakota Sioux who was born on the South Dakota reservation and is an active member in the Tekawitha Conference. Her group is an outreach of the National Right to Life Committee.
