Rooz has learned that Iran’s former president Mohammad Khatami disclosed a new facet of Iran’s current sensitive predicament. Khatami revealed that on his recent trip to Germany about a month ago, he received a message from a US official through an intermediary that unless there was a change in Iran’s nuclear policy and situation within a month after the case went to the UN Security Council, the US would militarily strike a number of Iran’s nuclear installations.
Expressing surprise at the foreign policy of the current administration, particularly its nuclear position, Khatami said that he communicated the American message to Iran’s officials and the Supreme National Security Council, but noted that no attention has been paid to it.
