Intel are one of the biggest supporters of Israel. Their very first development centre outside the US was opened in Haifa in 1974. Since then they have continued pouring investment in to Israel. By year 2000 they employ over 4000 israelis.

I was aware of the Intel-Israel connection but never thought about AMD.

Why not, AMD has been the performance leader in desktop CPU's for sometime now.

Back in the 486 days I used to insist on Intel CPUs when speccing PC's.
If only I had known.... :o

Except for a couple of old project pc's (like my 486DX2) I use AMD cpu's, and will NEVER AGAIN buy an intel cpu. The last time I did, it was a PIII, back in 1998-99. Shortly after that PIII purchase, I purchased an AMD k6-2 than ran 100Mhz slower, and it performed just as well for me as the PIII did.

Right now, I'm running an AthlonXP 3200+ in my main machine, an AthlonXP 2600+ in the other. AMD's are usually cheaper, and they do outperform "faster" Intel cpu's.

When it comes to anything electronic whites do not produce much so just stick with asus.

I was comparing them due to performance, price, and the fact that they were both available at the same time. And I made a typo-PII should have read PIII, I'm fixing that now...

Recently I built a system utilizing AMD’s San Diego, which has proven to be both rock solid reliable and lighting fast. If you build your own system (and everyone should, its very easy) AMD is the way to go. AMD offers a superior price/performance ratio, and the slower clock speed lowers the temperature allowing for an easer overclock. Intels on the other hand, bake like an oven yearning for a Holocaust, with the unfortunate owner being the one who is burnt as a sacrifice to Intel’s marketing hype.
