I am actually reading at the moment about pre-Christian Germanic law. Its actually quite interesting. Quite sophisticated, listen to this:

The leaders of Germanic court would not have known how to assess the evidence even if it were presented to them. This left two methods of proof: the ordeal, involving divine decision, and compurgation, involving the swearing of oaths.

In proof by ordeal the odds were weighted heavily against the defendent. In the ordeal of hot iron the defendent was required to grasp a red hot piece of metal. His hand was then bandaged, and if after three days the burns were on the way to being healed, the defendent was innocent, otherwise he was guilty. The ordeal of hot water worked similarly: The defendent was made to put his arm into a caldron of boiling water and lift a stone from the bottom; his arm was then bandaged and in three days it was inspected to decide his guilt or innocence. The ordeal of cold water was a favorite in England, where there were numerous rivers and brooks. The defendent was tied hand and foot and thrown into water; if he sank he was innocent, and if he floated he was guilty, on the premise that water, a divine element, would not receive a guilty person.

What's interesting to note is that this method, as primitive and barbaric as it is, may actually have worked. The power of the subconscious mind is known to be able to increase the rate of wound healing through suggestion, so perhaps this method actually worked by through the power of suggestion?

Shock, trauma or pain is known to make the mind much more suggestable, so perhaps the pain put the person into a very suggestable state, and then the dual suggestion was planted that if the person was innocent, they would heal, and if guilty, they would not, and then the subconscious mind was left to carry out the appropriate physical response?

This seems to be a possibility from what I've read of the mind/body connection and the power of suggestion.

This is just bizarre. Perhaps the same mechanism as above could work, with the persons lungs controlled by the subconscious mind through the autonomic nervous system to determine the amount of air in the lungs?

I'd be more than a little reluctant to test this thesis. I hope they would at least pull the innocent people off the riverbed so they could enjoy their 'innocence'?

LOL! Okay, crazy Charlie. LOL. I am saving this one - you are a fried egg!

?

Actually some of the Vikings , I think , had supernatural powers back in them days - I have heard of verdicts of innocense based on the accused's capability to carry red hot iron before but never heard of the socalled healing period before . I think some places they weren't even supposed to get hurt at all........

Well ! ... Fredrik , I think that he should be excused a little , it's a typical case of long time exposure to brainwash. Mind you I consider myself as PARTLY Christian myself . Part of the brainwash and guilt-brainwash goes on the fact that some jews had some books burned in Germany in the beginning of the last century but NO ONE ever talks about the fact the almost everything contra-Christianity they could find most certainly were burned when Christianity marched into europe...
Very much must have been lost in the sense of written material and many opposers must have been slain...

So when you take everything from a guy in the sense of possibility to have true knowledge of his past then he has got to be a little excused.... :)

He hates Whites who have or have had White religions.

Tell us what is "white" about the pagan and heathen religions Fredrik Haerne. Either do that or shut the fuck up and go back to your corner. North Africa was more a part of the Roman World than Scandinavia which the Romans associated with the savagery of the Cimbri and Teutones.

I suppose he would be more comfortable in a country full of Christian niggers than in a country of White pagans!

What is "white" about paganism Fredrik Haerne? Roman citizenship was never based upon whiteness.

Yes, the Salem Witch Trials were so much more sane!

Hey listen to this.

"It is Celtic public rituals that Caesar finds most troubling. His Druid priests, while teaching about an imperishable soul, also preside over all public sacrifice and some personal healing rituals. Criminals were routinely used as sacrificial victims, and when these were unavailable, innocents were slaughtered for the gods instead. Victims were sometimes hung in wicker baskets and burned alive. Suprisingly he dos not mention cutting off and displaying heads, something that he must have read about in Posidonius and which has been abundantly confirmed archaeologically, not only for heads but other body parts such as femur bones. The remains of children have likewise been discovered in gateways, bogs, and sacred sites across Celtic Europe."

Your attempts (FTB) to justify christianity by comparing it's "civilized nature" to the likes of ancient "religions", has to be the most ignorant argument I have ever heard from a christian.

Even when christianity was growing up, it was brutal and full of savagery. All forms of religion were in those times. Gee, could it have been because MAN was still in a savage state of mind? To deny that White men at one time were not savage beasts, with no morals, is idiocy. To claim that christianity is what "cured" man of this heathen mindset, is also idiocy.

You are right, christianity is more reasonable than say, um..Well, I will get back to you on that one.

Point is, even modern day "Druids", are not out sacrificing children. As with Odinists. Whites in the North are not selling their daughters to jews and arabs. That's funny, something just came to mind, didn't GOD swoop down from the sky and kill a bunch of CHILDREN in Egypt one time??? He must have picked that one up from the pagons.

Are we still stoning whores? No. The human mind has grown up a tad bit since then, save for some people around the world where evolution is taking it's time, or taking a different path.

Christianity is no better than any other religion at the moment. Sure, You can compare the modern "version" of christianity with the "ancient" version of pagon religions. That makes a pretty inconclusive argument-and you know it.

All religion has changed with the times. It has not changed us- We have changed it.

LOL that's right. You can't name any. That's because the glorious heathenism of people like Fredrik Haerne the bark eater and its consequental tribalism was a colossal failure that kept Northern Europe in ignorance and slavery for centuries. Even in the darkest part of the Dark Ages we at least had the Venerable Bede and Alcuin which does not even include the philosophers and scientists of the later Middle Ages. The Carolingian Empire of Charlemagne and the Holy Roman Empire of Otto the Great were an ENORMOUS advancement over what had previously existed in Northern Europe. If the early Middle Ages are described as the "Dark Ages," what do you suppose we should call the several thousand years of Northern European history prior to the birth of Christ?

3. Jews wrote the New Testament Fade. The laws and precepts came from GOD I assume.

So what? Literacy first arose amongst levantines too as did many of our domesticated food crops. The Greeks borrowed their a lot of their script from the Phoenicians. Many of these Jews also had Classical educations and simply incorporated much of that into the New Testament.

Although our modernized form of "laws and precepts" are from what you explained in another post. Something to the effect of, modernized interpretations of the scriptures.

Yes, a document can be interpreted in all sorts of ways. One can even see neo-Platonism in the Scriptures if one looks for it.

Fade, all of pre-Christian culture that could be was destroyed, but I'd like to point to the Greeks and pre-Christian Romans, as well as the Nordics who invented a semi-democratic rights-based society, as examples of what happens when you don't have that sick religion hanging around.

I think Christianity can exist in healthy forms, but outside of Meister Eckhardt, I haven't heard of any.

Further, Christ was not a pacifist where it suited him not to be. He was an egalitarian. It's a fine distinction but a vital one.

You are assuming that what we have now is superior, and therefore using it to judge the past; this is logical error. You're also omitting the fact that a vibrant culture did exist which did not have imperial goals, and that one interpretation of these great advances you see is that they're the byproduct of what once was struggling with the current Christian dogma.

I suppose the Crusades were good for Europe? WWI was positive for Europe? Or the vast internal conflicts that left most of Europe's free spirits and intellectuals dead? Witch burnings? Fade, all of pre-Christian culture that could be was destroyed. . .

What was this pre-Christian culture in Northern Europe? To name just one example, the reason we have so few fucking records and literature from the thousands of years of Celtic history before the birth of Christ was because the Druids placed a religious proscription upon committing their knowledge to writing, not because of Christianity. It was only after the Celts began to convert and the religious proscription went away that we begin to see a written Celtic literature. The Celts were certainly more advanced and urban than the Germans at the time as well. I won't even speculate as to what level of barbarism the Scandinavians were living in. Then again, I suppose the Cimbri and the Teutones might point us in the right direction.

but I'd like to point to the Greeks and pre-Christian Romans

Would you like to discuss how the Greeks and the Romans felt about the Northern barbarians? Where should we begin? With the Cimbri? The Teutones? The Scythians perhaps?

as well as the Nordics who invented a semi-democratic rights-based society

I have previously suggested that a vital masculine Christianity, more like to what our great-grandparents might have practiced rather than the insipid nonsense peddled in the churches today, is compatible with a healthy racial identity. I also suggested with regard to the supernatural stuff in Christianity, that people take it as mythology to see what value they can find. That dog hunts both ways. By that, I mean that we should also examine pagan mythologies to see what value can be taken from them.

Although I was nursed on Greek myths, I much enjoy Nordic myth as well. I recently saw the opera "Siegfried" by Richard Wagner and let me tell you friends, it was as inspiring as I had ever hoped it would be. Now the Ring Cycle is adapted from Teutonic myth, and does not follow the legends exactly, but I think it soundly qualifies as Germanic myth.

I have had a few Christian friends dismiss Wagner for his "folkish paganism" but they are usually ignorant of "Parsifal." Nor have they actually seen Wagner.

It amazes me that some Christians are so honked off about stories and tales and legends. That is an odd dogmatic attitude. I really believe White folk are tolerant of religion by nature, and dogmatism is the alien attitude. Dogmatic atheism or dogmatic Christianity, I reject them both.

Yes, we have.

1. We are on the verge of destroying the entire human race. Be it nuclear, biological or chemical.

The human race is still here Magnus.

2. The human race still continues to fight itself. Not only do we fight ethnic wars, but religious and political as well.

There is nothing whatsoever unusual about warfare. The idea of "world peace" is actually what is ridiculous. There has never been any "world peace" nor will there ever be.

3. We have an entire race of people who are slaves right now, slaves to the religious dogma of the jew.

Christians are not the "slaves" of the Jews Magnus. Jews no longer own Christians as chattel property like they did in the glorious days of paganism in the Roman Empire. Things actually have improved in that regard.

We have sold our sons and daughters into the arms of savage beasts.

Actually, believe it not, a Jewish conspiracy does not exist to enslave gentiles. Jews certainly have a lot of international influence and power, there is no question of that, but whites are hardly the slaves of the Jews. Your own gentile elites simply align themselves with the Jews, as they have since as long as I can remember, because the Jews are quite useful. The British, for instance, used the Jews to help sway American public opinion into entering the Great War. The Soviets used the Jews to help them dominate the countries of Eastern Europe after World War 2. Court Jews were common throughout the Middle Ages because they were intelligent and capable administrators. The Jew is what he has always been - a middleman. That, however, is perfectly natural for the Jew. You shouldn't blame the Jew for simply being what he is. It is his nature. Instead of moaning and complaining about the fucking Jews blame your own gentile leadership for the situation you are in today. They are the ones who have sold you out. They are the ones who have betrayed their own people. Attacking the Jews is idiotic.

A much better idea is to attack the shabbos goy gentile leadership that are using the Jews for their own purposes. They are the weakest link and when put under pressure in the past, they have betrayed the Jews to save their own asses.

BTW, the same beasts who like to rape, pillage and murder. Gee Fade, seems like we still sell our people into the arms of slavery.

LOL there is no chattel slavery in America Magnus.

I could go on and on. Fade here seems to believe we are better off than our heathen fore-fathers.

We are BY FAR better off. Have you ever heard the story of "Old Gretel" by chance? "Old Gretel" used to be a common term in the Dark Ages to refer to a woman in her thirties. Most women, especially in heathen areas, you see, were dead by then since life expectancy was so low.

Oy vey! Yhea, O.K., humanism is horrible. I guess some weird book, has civilized us mankind and saved him from a world of rape, slavery and destruction. Yhea, O.K.....

Do you know why slavery perished Magnus? The slavery that had existed for thousands of years in Europe? It is because Europeans came to believe that human life was not simply worthless. It came to be believed that men were given souls by God, and since they were made in God's image, they possessed an intrinsic value and thus were entitled to some degree of human dignity.

Not a GOD DAMN thing has changed Fade. We are still just as savage as we were 6,000 years ago. NOT ONE SINGLE THING has changed. Nothing. Oh, I forgot, up until christianity, we had no great philosophers. Gee, thank GOD for that!

As luck would have it, you would look less stupid then than when you are posting lies about the economy in Viking societies being based on selling slaves to Arabs through Russia!

So where does your hatred for Northern Europe come from? You still haven't answered that. Is it only a result of reading that Jew-published literature you like to quote from? Or do you have Slavic ancestry, as one could suspect? Not to bash all Slavs here, but those who hate Northern Europe the most always seem to come from Poland or the like. Never see the same hatred from Romanics, really.

I have previously suggested that a vital masculine Christianity, more like to what our great-grandparents might have practiced rather than the insipid nonsense peddled in the churches today, is compatible with a healthy racial identity.

I wish it could be so, but that turn the other cheek stuff, and the worship of poverty and the like, is hard to erase, since the NT is full of it. Anyway, I think that the successful fight for White survival will be fueled by non-religious arguments, and religion will be a later issue.

I have had a few Christian friends dismiss Wagner for his "folkish paganism" but they are usually ignorant of "Parsifal." Nor have they actually seen Wagner.

Wagner is good. Not the kind of light-weight classical music you play at home while reading a book, though; he demands your full attention. One of these days I will have to find an opportunity to watch the Nibelungenleid.
