I haven't been able to connect to VNN since Friday. MSN claims it can't find it. Neither Google nor Altavista could provide a link.
I just now managed to connect to the forum, but that is all. I found a picture from the forum that I had saved and somehow linked thru that. The link to reader mail won't work for me.
Alex sent me a link but it doesn't work, he tells me that my 'browser needs to refresh its caches."
Its pissing me off, I need my VNN fix.
Any suggestions?

its govnn.com or vanguardnewsnetwork.com. vnn.com is a totally different outfit one could never confuse with linder.

Can't you just type the addresses into your address bar and click 'Go' ? (the 'Go' button is at the RH side of the address bar)

I reset my browser security setting. I've gone to every site that links to VNN and tried that. You know how it shows progress? On mine its a bar with eleven little green bars, all filled-in when the linkage is completed. Mine grinds away, gets almost to the third bar and fails. then I get a window or message that either tells me there is no such or some other message of failure.

I had a photo saved from the forum that I pulled up, it had a link to the forum so I tried it and got here OK somehow. But I still can't go there from here or elsewhere.

You're probably stuck on an old cache from when the site was down. Try refreshing/reloading a couple times when you get the 'Not Available' message. If that doesn't work you should be able to access VNN from a web proxy.

Try going to

Click 'Try as a Guest' on the LH side of the page. When the new page opens up paste the VNN address into the window at the lower LH side. The window will already have yahoo.com or something in there, just delete that and type in or paste the VNN address. Click the 'Go' button (or whatever the button says) directly to the RH side of the window.

That will connect you.

Can you tell me more about Surfola? They allowed a trial viewing and then offered a free membership. What is the down-side here? Where is the hidden expense, etc.?

I don't know much about the site. I only use it to double check websites that I'm having trouble downloading. They do kick you off the free service after 15 minutes or so, but I didn't want to mention that and make things more confusing. I think you have to wait an hour to get back on after they kick you off.

surfola.com is a web based proxy, there are probably a hundred of them that will subscribe you for a small fee. I didn't give you the most popular one which is

because I wasn't sure if they filtered out VNN on their free service or not. I just tried them though and they connect with VNN fine. There's no time limit on anonymizer.com as far as I know. The address window to use is at the top of the page, it says 'Start Surfing' I think....

The most common reason for subscribing to proxy services is to mask one's personal IP number (The IP number discloses the location of the computer you're using. Your computer IP number is akin to to your home phone number). Anyone monitoring your surfing will only be able to trace the location of your computer as far as the IP number of the proxy you're using.

P.S. I signed up for the 'Free Membership' at surfola.com a year or two ago myself but I haven't found that it works any differently than the 'Try as a Guest' version. They might be doing that just to collect email addresses.

I believe that the problem that you are having has to do with DNS propogation. When you modify your DNS settings for a domain name, vanguardnewsnetwork.com, for instance, it can take 24-72 hours for the various ISPs the world over to update their DNS entries, telling them where the domain name is pointing to, in this instance, VNN's new location. Give it another day or 2, and if it doesn't kick in, email me at webmaster@whiterevolution.com
