I have heard before that amongst the European White race, the females ON AVERAGE, seem to have more fairer taits compared to the males.
It has been theorized that this may be due to the fact that females have used these fair traits to appear more physically appealing thus attracting lots of male attention and thus, mates.
And it has also been theorized that White males carry more distant darker or not as pure chromosones for whatever reason.

Anyone have any answers or guesses to this question?

I have noticed that females seem to have more of the fairer look even within the same family. It's common to see a female with blondish or reddish hair while her brother has darker hair.
Also, skin tone tends to be lighter amongst females than males from within the same racial/biological group.
Is this due to the fact that historically, males have been outside much more in the environment hunting, gathering, exploring, farming, etc.?

Are you sure about the accuracy of your claim? Somehow I doubt testosterone is the key factor in the whole mix. I have seen people who are injected with testosterone as a means of birth control, and they never did get noticeably lighter or darker in complexion.
