I disagree. Alex Linder does owe a total explaination. Had it just been him ripped off by Bill White fine. But dozens were ripped off by the shop-white.com scam and Alex Linder should account for that with an explaination, not the future when everyone will forget about it, but now. There is no reason for Alex Linder to hide the facts from people on this. We need honesty, not coverups in our movement. This is the chance for Alex to show he is sincere & honest.

Again, had dozens of people not gotten ripped off, had their names exposed and their credit card numbers published, I wouldn't give a damn. But even after that happened, Alex stood by Bill White. So Alex really needs to explain that one also. Why he stood by Bill White when Bill White released all that personal information, which can be found easily on usenet.

Remember it is not Alex Linder who got ripped off but dozens of people who actually thought they were helping VNN by sending money to Shop White.

Yes, Alex Linder owes a total explaination today. It wasn't a bad business deal for Alex, it was a rip off for those who sent money. And Alex is responsible for part of it.

It was Bill White's ineptness that allowed a hacker to get to it, and instead of leaving voluntarily as any company would expect the guy in charge of their security to do if its site was hacked, Bill White decided he'd rather selfishly stay and bring down everyone involved with ShopWhite with him if he had to go, including VNN. Actually, I don't think I know anybody who was a shopwhite member. I'd like to hear some details from those who were actually registered and bought things, etc.

Even so, I don't see how it was Mr. Linder's fault (Man, I hate going over this yet again - it would be so much better to get it all behind us). He got stuck with White and made the best of it. And then what could he do? How could he express doubts about White when he was officially working with, linked to him through Moran? Paul Verhoeven was given a really bad movie in his last Hollywood job, but he couldn't say that till the movie was done and well behind him. He had to profess loyalty to the movie even though he knew it was rotten. And it's very easy, in hindsight, to see White for what he is (insane). I had my doubts and they got stronger as time went on - but it was easy for me, I wasn't hitched to him the way Mr. Linder was.

At one point I did have this bizarre paranoid fantasy that Bill White was some elaborate Alex Linder loyalty test kinda thing:) Sort of like a new version of the SS oath? Maybe I can't explain it...
