Defeatism=
An attitude of admitting defeat, as of one's own country, or of life itself, on the grounds that failure is inevitable.

This is a reality to most. Myself, this is my largest "character flaw" if you will. Most people I discuss any type of issue with agree with me, but 99% of the time show defeatist emotions. I do as well. This is a topic rarely discussed on these gossip-hoarded forums, and I would like to know how many of you out there feel this impending doom may, or most likely will become a reality.
Reason I would like to discuss this, is because I feel this is the grounds for most people not wanting to involve themselves, or make any type of commitment towards a worthy cause. Perhaps why some people who get involved (become "active" if you will), become disenfranchised as well.
The grounds that "failure is inevitable", are legitimate foundations for the way we act, or the way we feel about mankind as a whole. Some of us may feel that no matter what we do, we are doomed. Period. I know it sounds like the "easy way out" or an excuse, but they are viable emotions, and should be treated as such. The feelings that mankind is a failure, can be very real to some, and cause said persons to become rather self-seeking or self-centered.
"Why keep fighting for a losing cause?" You have to admit this is a serious question. Granted some of you think the White race can be saved via politics or some great "awakening" caused by a rash of 9-11ish doomsday events, or maybe an economic breakdown of apocolyptic nature. I don't know what all of you think it will take for a shot at survival. I'm not just talking about White survival, or for this country, but mankind as a whole.

I remember when I joined the National Alliance. I thought I could actually do something to change the course of man. After realizing that although these men were doing something noble, putting their ass's on the line and making a stand when given the opportunity, it was fruitless. Just a personal observation mind you, and not a generalization. Any re-hash of a political arena, or a band of bombesq, revolting patriots not making any headway. A collective rise of White folks banding together to fight the Federal goverment really not happening. What does that leave a White person who wants to make a difference? Join some "organization" like the N.A. or White Revolution. The get involved with these orgs and realize they are so open and media "friendly", that anyone who makes any headway is promptly shut up or locked up. The reason I find these "organizations" fruitless is because the defeatism bug rears its head every time someone is locked away in a dungeon. They could arrest every single member of any "organization" at any time. This does not scare me, but makes me wonder what positive goals have been reached by such. The rest just sit around making fun of the others and filling their ranks with punks and rejects. Seems like the same old thing, over and over and over.
So, I guess one could sit around on the computer, bitching and whining like myself, but soon that looses its luster as well. I really don't know what to think sometimes. Most times I guess I fit the "lone wolf" type, minus the violent activities. I personaly think any real change will come via violence, but have no idea if people will commit, or when and how. I don't say this because I want to see violence ( I don't want my daughter to live in violent times), I just feel this is the means to an end. My defeatist atitude also stems from the fact that it is not just jews and blacks and every other non-White who will have to be "fought" to make a difference, but our own people as well. I blame ourselves and my ancestors for the shape we are in. Not just jews or blacks, but Whites as well. So what happens if Whites are in complete rule agian? Will we preserve ourselves, or let every third-worlder have a piece of the pie as well? Will we continue to feel sorry for the downtrodden, or will we be these heartless doomsday soldiers who shoot any man woman or child because they are non-White?

The questions or doubts could go on and on. I would just like to know if anyone else deals with these feelings and what you do about them.

I'll tell you what to do. Think globally act locally. Make some friends in your physical area or better yet recruit WN from existing friends and family and do periodic acts of resistance. I couldnt care less whether it's Vibeke Ostergaard's suggestion of cleaning up a park, or some NA style flyering, or some Kievsky style cooperative gardening, or infilting some local ethnic organization for purposes of further one on one recruitment. Do something. Build your personal real world network. There is never enough time for that.

Moreover, things like VNN dont run on air. Chip in a few shekels.

Beyond that use your precious time to build your own security resources including savings or whatever else fits your pique-- I'm not a fan of survivalism though I used to be-- and more importantly expand your accessible human capital like local social networks even outside "WN." Finally, you have a daughter you say and spend that time with her as I am sure you do-- but even more, working on teaching her useful life skills.

Good ideas? Never enough time for them.

"The world will likely be as mean and foolish a place when we leave it as it was when we entered it."
"Doubt may be uncomfortable, but certainty is absurd."
--Voltaire

It is said that the road to success is paved with failures; and that most fear to fail, and so, don't really even try. But I think more people fear success more than failure, because, they may think ... what then? Failure becomes familiar and comfortable; success means journeying into the new and unknown. It is like the boy who is afraid that the girl will say 'No' when asked, but what he fears even worse is that she will say, Yes!

But you, Magnus, mean also (or primarily) our collective success as a people, over the years and generations and centuries; and as foresight (hell! even plainly seeing what is) is exceedingly rare, so is a true assessment of success, or effects. The ends and the means are inseparable, contained in each other, and the best we can do, I think, is to love and to do what we love, to put forth our one best example of humanity no matter what, while we still live. To make one's life count-for something greater than oneself and one's short interval on this earth (while continually seeking out exactly what that something is) and while performing the necessities of earning a living, raising a family, etc., may not keep the world from going to perdition a single day later, but it remains the only way to live just as surely as if it would save the world... at least, as far as I can see. But I am sure you have already pondered all this. Some of my most gratifying personal victories were preceded by pesky thoughts of defeat, as I suspect is often the case. People who don't dare to do much, who really are beaten, the inwardly poverty-stricken, etc., are usually not bothered at all by doubt.

Here is William G. Simpson:

I believe that no man shall ever come to the place where he can leave his most lasting mark upon the unfolding life of the race until he has achieved a supreme indifference to what men think of him. He will have the lofty indifference of a mountain. The mountain does not ask to be recognized as a mountain. It is one, and men cannot escape it. They may climb over it or tunnel under it, but they cannot ignore it. Their whole life is altered because it is there. I have said already—but lest you forget it I say again—I know that there must be those who are like channel-buoys by which canal-boats and tugboats find their way in and out of a harbor—that is, those by whom society can find its way through a particular tangled situation in a given age. These men are the statesmen and reformers. But I say we need also, and more desperately than anything else, those men who will not reform anything, who will be simply light, through whose lives the reformers will see that changes are needed, and what changes, and be fired to try to bring those changes to pass. Those men are like stars hung in the sky, from which men never can escape. They are ever luring the hardiest souls, the most dauntless mariners, farther and farther out from shore, to venture at last "where man has never yet dared to go" and there to "risk the ship, themselves, and all," Not that any man by trying can ever become a star. More than anything else, such an aspiration is likely to put out whatever light there was in him. And yet no one ever knows how far one’s faithfulness to one’s highest vision in one’s own corner is going to have influence. .....

Perhaps the truth of the matter is that I, who have so much to say about the poisonous and seductive concern for effects, am really the one who cares about effects most. Perhaps I have spoken as I have because I care so much that men should not fail of their greatest effect. I see how through the centuries men have been deceived by their nearsightedness. Misled by their impatience, by their obsession with the immediate and the external, by their blindness as to what is real and enduring, they have spent themselves in vain, over and over again. To measure results truly one must have an eye that can pierce through the deceptive sheen and glamour of appearances to the quiet core of enduring fact and force within. One must have an eagle-eye of long range, and perch on a high mountain with the centuries stretched out far below, Then one sees how the noisy and the spectacular in the past has quickly subsided until in the present there is hardly so much as a ripple of it left. And, on the other hand, certain words and deeds in the present, that seem almost as intangible as light and song, almost as defenseless as a newborn babe, slowly come to be spiritual earth and sun for a whole race of men far into the future. Long and long have I believed—at last it is getting in to my very blood—that the really significant changes in human society are not the changes that strike the eye and the ear of man. You put a nation through the throes of a revolution and at last dress it up in a new social order according to your idea of what is good, but how often only to realize in the end that underneath the apparent change the men and women in your new social order remained pretty much what they were. Somewhat as the monkey, even after you have pulled a full dress suit on him, and stuck a cane in his hand and a high hat on his head, still remains—a monkey. The evils bear new names and take new forms but remain the same evils. The really profound and far- reaching changes, out of which in time the need and the demand for the external changes come, are the slow, invisible and intangible changes in men’s ideas and ideals.

"The movements that guide the world," said Nietzsche, "come on doves’ feet." "Around the devisers of new values revolveth the world:—invisibly it revolveth. But around the actors revolve the people and the glory: such is the course of things." We continually say, but how very rarely really believe, what is surely the great fact, that "the Kingdom of God cometh not with observation." It does not come in the things that we can see. It stealeth over the world.

To him, therefore, who has the soul of the artist, whose chief gift to his fellow men is simply himself, is simply in being out and out what he really is deep down inside—to him I would draw near that I may whisper to him my very soul in this matter. I would say to him, "Be like the dancer. The dancer can bring his dance to the last turn of perfection and have his greatest effect on his spectators precisely when he has completely forgotten not only himself but even those who watch him. He is utterly lost in his dance. He is the dance. And do you likewise forget all else but your vision. Let it possess you—utterly. Clothe it in your own flesh and blood. Let it walk the earth in you. And the effect of it—what men make of it—forget it! Only then will it have its greatest effect. Not they do most for the Kingdom of God who talk about ‘advancing’ it. They do most for the Kingdom of God who see that it is, and live in it.

Don't quit. It's simple. Resist until the day you die.

I love to fight, I was born fighting. And that’s the way I would prefer to die, if that’s what the gods would have, rather than old in my sleep. And I have never known how to quit, the closest thing to quit I have ever managed is strategic retreat, followed by an overwhelming ballz to the wall counterattack.

What a beautiful morning today

It's a beautiful morning indeed. I can't stand defeatism either. Stop worrying about what uncle sammy is going to do to you. Think about what you're going to do to him. And his butt boyz.

Time to reread Oswald Spengler's "Man and Technics."
