Yeah, I follow the Russian Chechen conflict and there are some gruesome stuff out there. I've VCDs of the various booby traps, roadside bombs and ambushes on Russian patrols.

The Russian soldier who is decapitated while still alive is the worst I've seen so far. I have still to hear of the WHOLE story behind that one. Was there a grudge against him? Or just made as an example?

From what I hear, he was a russian kidnapped by chechans and they demanded money for his return. The Russians never payed up so they cut his throat and mailed this tape to his family. Copies were later sent out to the media.
