Oct. 9 - StreetBeat - Police Release Security Stills Of Suspected Gunman

Police are searching for a man they believe is responsible for shooting a 34-year-old Toronto woman in the face at an east-end plaza Monday morning.

It was around 3:45 am that officers on routine patrol found the woman lying outside a donut store at Flemingdon Park Plaza in the Don Mills and Eglinton area. Police believe the suspect ran into a nearby highrise, threatened a security officer, then fled. The motive isn't clear.

The victim is in critical but stable condition, and cops are anxious to talk to another female she was with when the gun went off.

Toronto Ambulance officials say the woman's injuries are serious, though she was conscious and breathing when police found her. Investigators only have a vague description of the suspect.

He's said to be:

Male,
Light brown complexion,
23 years old,
5'6"-5'7",
Average build.

A security camera captured a few fleeting shots of the suspect, who cops warn is armed and dangerous.
