MEL GIBSON GOES DIGITAL: HOLLYWOOD FOLLOWS

When Mel Gibson announced he was shooting "Apocalypto" in Digital in early summer, Hollywood Jews scrambled to keep up.

All us WN Media people remember last summer when the Jew Studio bosses all came back from that one long weekend and cut all the jobs and deals in Hollywood and Industry wide across the country. For a few years the Digital camera and exhibition world has been ready and just waiting for the Jew Hollywood studio bosses to commit.

The Hollywood studio bosses met, they conspired like the Jew Cabal Organized Crime that Hollywood is and they committed to the switch from Film to Digital. They had a meeting and conspired to make the switch to Digital. So we saw major cut backs in everything from Agents, to Actors, to Production to Deals.

Mel Gibson shot "Apocalypto" on the Digital "Genesis" camera body from Panavision. The RedCamera coming out this year is the same quality, at a far more affordable rental cost.

THE RED ONE™ CAMERA

So as WN Community, let's take a look at some of our most realistic imaging for WN Content. The Red Camera at 4K resolution is twice that of HD and above print film exhibition resolution. It has the same or better image resolution as Mel Gibson's Panavision "Genesis" and const's $500 for a two day weekend rental, shoot around the clock with several WN teams and projects and share the contract costs.

Specs: Red is the camera body system and Mysterium is the digital sensor.

PIXEL SHIFTING AND
UP-REZZING NOT SPOKEN HERE

Typical high-end HD camcorders have 2.1M pixel sensors and record with 3:1:1 color subsampled video at up to 30fps. We deliver 12M pixels at up to 60fps and record RAW, or 2x over-sampled HD in 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 - your choice. That’s more than 5 times the amount of information available every second and a vastly superior recording quality. Don’t need all that data for your workflow? Dial it back, and keep all the other advantages of the Mysterium™ Super 35mm cine sized (24.4 x 13.7mm) sensor. You get the same breathtaking Depth of Field and selective focus as found in film cameras. Mysterium™ boasts a greater than 66db Signal to Noise Ratio thanks to its large 29 sq. micron pixels. And 12,065,000 pixels deliver resolution that can only be called Ultra High Definition.

RED ONE IS A MODULAR DESIGN

Shoot lightweight ENG style (body less than 7 lbs., in rugged magnesium alloy) or load it up to shoot a feature film. Initial options will include RED-CAGE™ for mounting accessories and “growing” the camera body. Configure for tripod, crane or long lens applications. Onboard or external high-resolution RED monitors come equipped with advanced tools for framing, exposure and focus. The RED ONE™ camera has numerous stainless steel mounting points on the body to allow hundreds of optional RED and third party accessories... some that haven’t even been dreamed of yet.

HD DVD is not above 4:4:4 so we are safe with identical color depth to Film emulsion. We have to see what the actual shooting shots appear like from this camera in the summer of 2007. They could be like the shots in "Apocalypto".

http://red.com/gallery-still.htm - 4k stills.
(4k means four thousand pixels across, most film is above that, but everything we've seen scanned into DVD is often just 2K resolution. HD signal is about 2K res, 2000 pixels across horizontally about depending on screen and scan.)

RED ONE™ 4k still:
Small: http://red.com/images/gallery-still/4k_1-thumb.jpg
Large: http://red.com/images/gallery-still/4k_1.jpg

It's a little bit undersaturated, but it has the gamma range we are looking for, all the tonal details are there, we can increase contrast and saturation in post if needed.

It's a good image, there is no clipping of the darks or lights. Look at that glossy reflection on the bottle, we're actually getting a little detail in that highlight which is really rare for a digital signal, HD even has a hard time getting detail in highlights.

In summary a 4K camera will be twice the resolution of High Definition HD which is a 2K established industry signal.

A 4K camera will look to us very much like the Film emulsions we are used to seeing. This camera and others like it will be the tools that allow WN's to finally create Dramatic Media that competes visually with Hollywood. Internet distribution and this 4K will end Hollywood system as we know it.

Theater Chains with Digital projection: 2007:

Landmark
Century

This is going to give WN's the ability to create WN content that is every bit as realistic in their message as the Jews message that has been shown to the White Americans for the last 80 years.

Realism of the message means that people believe you. Propaganda depends on the "realism" of it's message.

Shoot doc when you want to appear realistically doc - whatever that standard of the time is.

Shoot realism when you want to appear realistic (most movie dramas) - when you want to create a WN version of Reality.

EDITING + EXHIBITION OF THE RED ONE™ CAMERA FOOTAGE

Many motion picture editors has expressed a degree of concern over the cost of editing the 4K RAW footage. Here is a cost breakdown and pathway.

What is the data rate of Red RAW?

CODEC DATA RATES
Two RAW codecs (currently)

1. Redcode RAW at 27 MB/sec. (1.6 GB/min. 100 GB.hr)
2. Uncompressed RAW at 323 MB/sec (19 GB/min. 1,162 GB/hr, 1.2 TB/hr)

The Redcode RAW codec will allow 4K sensor data to be recored at 24 frames per second with a data rate of around 27.5 MB/s (220 megabits per second, Mb's). 28MB/sec 4K Red RAW data x 60 sec = 1680 MB min x 60 min = 100,800 MB hr. 100 GB hr. Some of us have 200 GB drives as doorstops.
http://red.com/workflow.htm

SHOOTING RATIOS
Shooting Ration of 2:1. Two takes for one good one.

At 4K Uncompressed RAW at 323 MB/sec gives us 8TB for 4 hrs of footage to cut down at 2:1 ratio to 2hrs final cut. Cost of drives would be currently $2200. Edit on low res files on a single Drive. Of the 16 drives, only RAID 8 of them. Render the timeline from 4K frames onto a set of 8 RAID 500GB drives for 4TB or 2hrs of feature 4K playback at speed.

Your Dramatic Actors have two takes average. Some action can be shot at 1 take and some performances at 3 takes.

For the Sony digital 4K projection, currently, you need an SDI signal feed, or a double SDI feed, twice HD's 2K res, at 4K res.

So when you edit the 4K material on a harddrive you have to think about the signal path between your digital medium and the Sony digital 4K projector. The projector only takes a double SDI, not Firewire IEEE 1394 signal. So soimebody has to own an SDI output card to bridge between the Motherboard which is reading the harddrive data and the projector.

The projection is above HD, twice HD resolution and nearly identical to a Film print being screened. The fact that you are aquiring at a 4K res will also make your lower HD 2K DVD disc distro look better as the compression has more to work with on the areas of the shots you want preserved.

PORTABLE TOWER EXHIBITION CONFIG.

8 drives in 4 RAIDS in one tower (Form Factor Width: 3.5 in) you haul to an exhibition in a padded backpack on a train, on a subway, on a bike, or walking. Cost of that portable tower with 8 drives in it? About $1,150, less than many laptops and a feature length film with 4K film res.

Dual Link HD-SDI card PCI card for output
$ 1400. Dual Link HD-SDI card PCI card for output: http://www.nextag.com/Blackmagic-Design-Blackmagic-Decklink-83873055/price-history-html. Pristine 12-bit 4:4:4 HDTV color resolution is achieved via the "Dual Link" which incorporates 2 SDI channels to carry the extra color information. 320MB/sec output on Dual Link HD-SDI Input Board for SXRD Projector

$200 RAID SATA card for 4 additional drives.

So for $1,100 drives + $1400 SDI output card., $2500 you can walk up with a hard-drive RAID tower and Dual-SDI 325MB/sec outputs and just cable up to the projector, turn on the power and project for 2 hrs at quality of Film (4 times HD detail and contrast).

SDI are Serial Digital Interface, basically a set of BNC connectors on the edge of a PCI card. There will be no higher quality seen by people.

1. Low shooting ratio.
2. Store the RAW 4K 323MB/sec takes.
3. Edit offline at lower resolution.
4. Render 2hr. 40min White racial feature res 4K RAW or JPEG2000 res.
5. Dual-link SDI card for the output to the digital projector.

This is a very intriguing camera system, but I definitely think you need more space. Of course it still ends up being cheaper than film, not to mention more flexible (reusable). There also the problem of mobility and noise. Servers like the one described are too large for quick handheld shots and will require a generator. They are also loud (8 drives, 8 fans).

Despite these challanges, a very good looking feature could be made for under $100,000 with donated time and hard work.

Aistulf, you are technically proficient and WN motivated, I respect that very much. Good to see you here on VNN.

We must spread the WN technical knowledge far and wide. The www is constantly archiving all our posts, so everything we do post is automatically duplicated and scanned and spread.

We can help that process by increasing the root data on original sites, such as VNN.

Academy Award winning director Peter Jackson ("Lord of the Rings Trilogy" and King Kong") volunteered to shoot 4K footage for RED to use at NAB 2007. What started out as a test session quickly turned into a movie. Peter and his team shot RED Alpha prototypes, "Boris" and "Natasha", for 2 days in New Zealand just two weeks before the opening of NAB. All footage was shot using RED's proprietary REDCODE RAW 4K codec and recorded to RED DRIVES.

It should be noted these guys are also going to release a 2k version of the camera that will be much cheaper and still match what the studios currently put out. Even if you weren't on the advance order waiting list, these shouldn't be too hard to find for rental as the demand will drive the manufacture. Apple and others at NAB did show they are giving full support to this camera - the new Final Cut Studio from Apple is awesome. Avid better get off their ass.

People can get great results (film like) from other HD cameras out there - it just takes the time and effort. The rumor about the Red is that the studios were trying to get the inventors to charge more (I wonder if the studios were behind the break-in and theft at the inventor's facility). In fact, the story is going around that the studios are not happy with Apple offering their top end editing suite for such a bargain ($1299 - $499 upgrade) and Sony (w/Vegas) offering up a good, low priced yet fairly high-end editing system on the PC. Yeah, you can go with Avid, but they have a bunch of products that... for the most part do the same thing. The internet, HD, other technologies are all dovetailing at the right time to help us get the battle for our people's minds going in earnest. Turn it into a battle instead of a one-sided affair.

I was misinformed in regards to my previous post. I did not realize they had drives fast enough to handle what these cameras put out. In fact, you can even edit the footage on a MacBook Pro using a Red Drive with 4K resolution.

Is anyone here developing pro-White material? This camera won't do us any good without content.

That is beautiful!

The advantage of a large CCD image capturing chip like that is that the motion blur of life is more accurately captured, so things on the video, regardless of final resolution and compression, will appear closer to what the human eye sees them as.
