Saturday Morning with nothing to do but cook and bake. Fine with me :) Following are a few recipes of MINE. Pictures aren't superb, but I took them with my cell so, good enough.
For starters I made homemade dough for crust, and this is an old recipe gramms gave me, simple simple simple.
Ingredients:
3/4 Lard or Shortening
1/4 Boiling Water
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Milk (Whole or 2%)
2 Cups All purpose Flour
Mix Lard or shortening, salt, and milk wth Boiling water and beat until smooth. Slowly add in flour and mix until forms a firm dough. Chill until ready to use. You can also freeze this dough for later use---Smart, eh?
First is a bacon mushroom quiche and it makes for a nice brunch.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp Butter
1/2 cup minced onion
1/2 cup chopped fresh mushrooms(More if you prefer)
2 cups of the Cheeses of your choice (Swiss,American Cheddar,&Parmesan for me)
6 slices of Cooked Bacon(About a cups worth) Crumble into large/med pieces
5 eggs
1/4 cup sour cream
3/4 cup milk (whole or 2%)
Grease pan you will be using - recipe is actually for a normal sized pie dish (I used a casserole dish), roll out your dough and place in pan.
Melt Butter in sauce pan and sautee mushrooms and onions together. Start layering Bacon, Cheeses, and Mushroom/Onion Mixture in dish.

Combine Eggs, Milk, and Sour Cream. Wisk until frothy and then pour custard over the Bacon mixture.

Bake at 350degrees for 1 hour or until quiche is firm. Allow to cool and settle for 15-20 minutes before serving.

So, with the leftover dough I figured that I would bake a mini apple pie. ~*For some reason*~ there is no cinnamon here which is pretty close to a sin, in my opinion. Gluttony a sin? Heh, What other food do I love and so many other and have plenty of.... Chocolate. That's right a white chocolate apple pie. I call it ....
Apples of Eden
(hahaha)
I just made this up today, and at first I thought I might be crazy, but I think it tastes really good. Oh yah, this is for a mini pie, so if you want to make a bigge one just times everything by how ever many apples you use I suppose.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp Butter
1/2 cup of chopped white chocolate
1/2 tbsp white sugar
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 red apple sliced thin
1 tspn flour
You know the drill, grease your baking dish and line with dough...
In a sauce pan melt butter. Add apple sugar, and flour. Let cook for about 5 minutes covered. Add in chocolate and stir until all chocolate melts. DO NOT leave unattended, chocolate can be a bitch and burn easily.

Put Apple mixture into baking dish and cover with remaining dough, cutting slits in the top and brushing on some egg white for a golden glow.
Bake at 350degrees for about 45minutes or until crust is golden brown. Let cool and enjoy.
