AVONDALE – Buses taking students from three suburban school districts on field trips to the city’s zoo were hit with bricks and other objects as they traveled through Avondale on Thursday, leaving three kindergarten students injured.
Three girls from Butler County’s Lakota schools were injured when a brick was thrown through one of the bus’ glass windows near the intersection of Forest and Vine streets – about three blocks from the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, said Cincinnati police.
The girls from Adena Elementary in West Chester Township were accompanied by their mothers who were among the many parents on the school field trip.
All three were taken to nearby Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Two were treated for wounds from broken glass and released soon after. The third girl, according to Sgt. Chris Conner, was treated for a “gash to the head” caused by the thrown brick and later released.
Conner said four other school buses – two from Oak Hills schools in Hamilton County and two from Walton-Verona schools in Northern Kentucky’s Boone County - were also hit by thrown objects at about the same time. The Adena school bus was hit at about 9:45 a.m., but there were no injuries or serious damage to the buses reported by the other school districts, said Conner.

Police said they are looking for a suspect described as a 16-year-old, black male with black hair and brown eyes wearing a dark hooded sweat shirt and standing five-foot-six inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.
That's pretty brazen, even by urban nigger standards. This shit is really going to come to a head one day. In the 43 years I lived next door to Detroit, I don't recall anything like that happening, that's really saying something.
