KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- Anger was apparent on both sides of Main Street in downtown Knoxville Saturday as White supremacists held a protest rally on the lawn of the City-County Building.

The protesters' dispute is with the national media's coverage of the murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom, a white couple killed in what police say was a carjacking last January. Four men and a woman, all black, have been arrested and charged in the murders.

The protesters claim the murders were racially motivated and the media have ignore them. Police and the victims family's have denied the murders were racially motivated.

There were more protesters at Saturday's rally than attended a similar one on May 26. And as before, they drew many counter-protesters.

"They come here to disturb our community and cause issues. (Christian's) parents don't even want them here and they're here," said a counter-protester, Reuben Figeuroa.

Figeuroa said the message of hate is an insult. "These four people committed this heinous crime. I believe they deserve the death sentence. I don't believe the whole race should be persecuted for this."

Ezra Maize, president of the Knox County branch of the NAACP, said the event is not a fair display of what Knoxville has to offer.

"What's taking place is a bunch of people coming to Knoxville needing a platform to be seen to take advantage of the moment," he said.

UT student Caitlin Elledge, another counter-protestor, agreed. "I think it's terrible these people are exploiting Channon and Chris' death just to promote their racist agenda. I think it's the opposite of what we need to be doing."

White supremacists say Saturday's rally was one of the larger rallies they've held this year.

Figeuroa says it's a glaring reminder that racism is still alive in Tennessee.

He added he hopes the group won't return.

Police made two arrests before the rallies began. David Hahn, 49, of Knox County, was charged with carrying a weapon with "intent to go armed."

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a trooper saw Hahn near a parked car on Gay Street with a .40-caliber semi-automatic weapon.

The other arrest was Timothy Tierney, 47, of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was charged with possession of marijuana.

Before the afternoon rally downtown, about 30 protesters gathered Saturday morning in front of the 6 News studios on North Broadway. They waved signs and shouted. Police were on hand to provide tight security.

The group broke up about an hour later.

Protestors were also seen near the Knoxville News Sentinel's building Saturday morning.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - For the second time in the last month, protesters lined both sides of a street in Knoxville to protest. The protestors want officials to investigate the murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsome as a hate crime.

The white couple was tortured and killed in January. Four African Americans were arrested in connection with the deaths. Not everyone agreed the murders were motivated by hate.

"It is possible for people to co-exist no matter what color, what race, what you are. It is about who you are as a human being," said a woman attending the protest.

Channon Christian's parents have said they do not believe race or hate was behind their daughter's murder.

Hate crimes

This is in response to "What is a hate crime? Some are asking why no media outcry over murders in which victims were white and defendants are black" (Page 1, June 10), by Tribune senior correspondent Howard Witt.

As a scholar who studies the identification of hate crime, I was extremely disappointed by Witt's article.

There is no argument in the scholarly community suggesting that brutal crimes in which there is no evidence of motive beyond opportunism are hate crimes. At no point did this article define hate crimes, which require evidence of motivation based on some sort of prejudice. There is no evidence of prejudice as motivation for the Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom murders, even from the facts stated in Witt's article.

To suggest that all cross-racial attacks are hate crimes makes light of crimes like the murders of Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, and the beating of Lenard Clark. Articles like Witt's only give white supremacists a platform, inflame racial tensions, and cause unnecessary fear.

The city of Chicago and the nation as a whole would be better served if the Tribune spent some time reporting on some of the actual hate crimes identified by the Chicago Police Department.

Beyond race

Howard Witt's article about hate crimes and interracial violence was stark and alarming. We should finally recognize that the injuring or killing of any innocent, sentient being is an act of hatred rooted in irreverence for life. To intentionally kill a helpless man, woman, child, dog or cat is a monstrosity. As a society we should ostracize and incarcerate all violent and lethal menaces to society.

Let's take race out of it!

Gary Christian On Second Protest

Knoxville (WVLT) -- Channon Christian's father, Gary, responded to the rally that took place in Downtown Knoxville today.

"I think it was a hate crime. I think any kind of crime like that is a hate crime. Was it racial, no, I don't think so," Christian said.

He said he doesn't like anyone using his daughter's pictures for their own agenda.

Christian also said that he did not like the ralliers visiting Channon's grave site and says he will stop them if they try it again.

White America needs its own Al Sharpton

Our world has changed drastically since former Vice President Al Gore
invented the Internet, especially the speed and type of news we receive. Newsworthy events that might happen at 4 a.m. in Butte, Montana, or St. Petersburg, Russia, can be available to the public almost immediately. News and information are readily available to us at microwave speed.

No more waiting for the Nightly News at 10. The way our news is presented to us has also changed. News used to be the mere reporting of facts and letting the viewer decide what to believe. Now most news formats are mainly giving the audience what news programs want them to think. We sometimes get the same story on every broadcast, every night for years. Generally, there's nonstop news coverage for murder or missing person stories. Remember O.J. Simpson, Scott Peterson, missing congressional aide Chandra Levy or the Duke University rape story.

Thinking that any heinous or outright unfathomable crime would make the national news, I was skeptical when I received a couple of e-mails asking if I had heard of the gruesome multiple murders that occurred almost six months ago. I hadn't. Thanks again to Al Gore, all I had to do was click on a link, and bingo, there was the story as if it had just occurred yesterday.

Sure enough, on Jan. 6 of this year, a young Knoxville, Tenn., couple had been carjacked, kidnapped, raped and murdered by four other young people from the same city. Channon Christian, a 21-year-old University of Tennessee college student, and her friend, 24-year-old Christopher Newsom, were both raped. Christian was found strangled and her body left in plastic bags inside the house where the crimes were committed. Newsom was shot and burned and his body dumped near some railroad tracks. Reports of mutilation of both bodies have not been confirmed.

You would think the same media outlets that gave us minute-by-minute updates on Don Imus, the paternity case of Anna Nicole Smith's baby, or the in, out and back in jail again Paris Hilton would have investigated this case. This had to have been the first major crime of the New Year, but there was no endless FOX News, MSNBC or CNN coverage. Where were Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Nancy Grace, Greta Van Susteren or Geraldo Rivera?

So just what was missing or so wrong about this story that made it unworthy? For starters the victims and the villains didn't fit the correct racial profile. The victims were white; the villains were black. That doesn't sell. Reverse the situation and we would have nonstop coverage. Of course, we would have had black activists insisting the world see the brutality white America is capable of committing.

However, since the victims were white in this case, there are no white activists bold enough to speak up out of fear of being labeled a racist. It's as if these two young white people were not important enough to have America learn of their unthinkable demise.

We have organized groups that will protest when whites commit crimes against blacks or children or homosexuals or religion. Yet when a heinous crime is committed against blacks by blacks or against your everyday heterosexual Caucasian by blacks, no one shouts. No one comes forward as a spokesperson for white guy civil rights.

If a swastika, a cross, or a racial epithet is directed toward blacks, it gets extensive media coverage. If two white boys beat up a black kid for riding his bike in a Chicago neighborhood, we hear about it, and we hear about it. If seven black South Carolina youths beat two white kids for riding their bikes through a black neighborhood, we don't hear a thing. If three white Duke University athletes are accused of raping a black dancer, we hear about it. If two black siblings in Wichita, Kansas, kill four whites, it's ignored by our national media. If a white man in New York makes a joke about eight black women, it's a national crisis. But when four blacks in Knoxville, Tennessee brutally kill a white couple, it takes an Internet crusade to bring it to the masses six months later. Our national media is very reluctant to give coverage to crimes committed against whites by nonwhites, or by blacks in general.

There was continuous coverage of the D.C. sniper case. The entire East Coast was on the lookout for a crazy white guy because no one knew the snipers were black until it was over.

It's sad to have to admit it, but white America needs a few Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons. It is also sad that these murders are still not the story. The story has become why it has taken six months for America to hear about it.

Beyond sad is that as gruesome as these crimes were, the Knoxville police and the FBI have decided that this crime does not meet the requirements to be classified as a hate crime.

Nope, folks, similar to the Charles Manson Family murderers, I guess the wonderful individuals who murdered Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom were just full of love, peace and joy when they did it.

You are correct except that the mainstream "news" media is less concerned about what "sells" to the watching public than in what promotes the social/political agenda of their masters that are destroying this country. The zionist/globalists who control our traitorous politicians like King Bush. Can you say ADL or Israel? What needs to be said is that Jewish-Supremacists (also known as Zionists) own virtually all "mainstream" media outlets and any views not fitting their agenda are suppressed and/or the messenger gets the Imus axe.

Those of us who have been Conservatives for years always remember and cite the truly stupid remarks of Liberals. That one by Gore was among the top ten most memorable.

I think unfortunately you are right, these are heinous crimes, that if they were perpetrated on black people would have been covered extensively.

I agree that Whites desperately need our own Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, but they must not be liars, scam artists, and shameless opportunists like Al and Jesse. Rather, our guys should be impeccably decent, honorable men.
Most racial hate crimes in this country are performed by Non-Whites against White victims. These crimes rarely get air time, and when they do they are NEVER portrayed as a hate crime. Yet the largely liberal-controlled press and news media will cover a rare White against minority hate crime full bore, 24x7 for months! This intolerable and blatantly unfair situation has to stop. It�s time for Whites to find their backbones again and stop being afraid of being called a �racist�. It�s time for Whites to put aside our petty differences and join together for our protection and advancement, JUST AS ALL THE OTHER RACES DO! Excellent point! The controlled media hammered the "James Byrd dragging" ad nauseum, and FALSELY portrayed Mr. Byrd as an "innocent" black targeted solely due to racial hatred. There was no mention whatsoever of Mr. Byrd's guilt at having raped one of his killers while the two of them were incarcerated at the same facility. The motive was NOT race, the motive was REVENGE. The real motive didn't fit the media's political/social agenda, however, so the "spin" of "the race card" was employed to obscure the truth from the public's eyes.

I will be flamed as a "jew lover", but I don't believe in the "Jew Conspiracy". But I do support White advocates like Tom Metzger and Hal Turner. I will never understand how they see Jews behind everything; it's Jews AND Gentiles who are the elites, destroying White America. But, Metzger, Turner, and others are bravely defending our people as we race towards extinction. Whites need to get MUCH tougher and stop being afraid to openly support the people who are advocating for White people.

Kudos to Mr. Jackson for daring to breach a "taboo" topic: the fact that white Americans have interests, and are entitled to stand up for these interests in the same way that other ethnic groups do.
Any attempts in this direction are usually demonized as "hatred" or "racism." Thus, all too many white Americans buy into the fiction that they have only two choices: (1) entirely disown their own interests, or (2) join the Klan, the American Nazis, or some other bigoted, "lunatic fringe" organization.
Though I wouldn't exactly compare him to Rev. Jackson and Rev. Sharpton, an individual does exist who presents an articulate and non-hateful case for white interests. His name is Jared Taylor, and he heads up an organization called American Renaissance.

Just as was done by the media in the Byrd dragging case, all mention of crimes committed by the "innocent" victim are omitted so that an attack motivated by REVENGE appears to be a "racial" hate crime against an "innocent" victim.
The controlled media are masters at "spin" so that certain political and social agendas are served. The KKK was less about race than about vigilante justice after all other means had failed. Lynchings were never of truly innocent blacks, always of Black criminals (thieves, robbers, rapists, etc.) who had done well at eluding capture by the authorities and of subversives who sought to perpetrate injustice against Whites.
The KKK was founded during the Reconstruction era when anti-White laws had been forced upon the defeated South as "punishment" for the Civil War. UYnder Reconstruction, Whites were removed from duly-elected public office, denied their Constitutionally-protected Rights, and not permitted to vote.

It may be of interest to some that the KKK has always been a Christian organization. Cross Lightings (not "burnings" as the media calls them) are solemn ceremonies during which members pray "That the Light of Christ shine upon this darkened Land." Scotsmen were prominent among the founders of the KKK, and the Fiery Cross is an ancient Celtic (pronounced "Keltic") rallying symbol. In an era of anti-White bias, the KKK defended Whites' God-given Rights against government-imposed tyranny.

Agreed! There are MANY advocacy groups whose mission is the protection of Whites' inalienable Rights as endowed by our Creator! From many regional CofCC (Councils of Conservative Citizens) to the falsely-maligned KKK and other groups, advicacy groups exist for us. What we need to do, however, is boycott any anti-White agenda-driven media outlets and their corporate sponsors, and pledge to donate what we would have paid to such outlets to legitimate White activists such as Hal Turner, Stormfront, (www.stormfront.org) our local CofCC if one exists in our local community, or whatever advocacy group we believe is deserving of our support.
Jewish-supremacists throw fistfuls of money into AIPAC, the ADL, the JDL and other such groups.
We need to support White leaders!!!

Regarding boycotting anti-White, agenda-driven media sources, I must say that the printing of Mr. Jackson's opinion piece has identified the Daily Journal as a legitimate impartial media outlet. Other media, however, are not as honorable as the Daily Journal.
I hereby encourage cancellation of subscriptions to any newspaper which does not display the kind of journalistic intregrity which the Daily Journal displayed in printing Mr. Jackson's opinion.
Also worthy of boycott by White America are virtually all major Cable and Satellite "pay television" services, as all of the Corporate-controlled providers have shown demonstrable bias against White America, as have all four of the major broadcast networks.
We need cable systems like some in Central Michigan, invariably small local ones not affiliated with and controlled by massive Corporations, and these "little guys" deserve our support. The Corporate "fat cats" however, have made their hatred of Whites abundantly clear!!!

This entire discussion is the perfect example of why there will never be white activist group "legitimacy" and why "white activism" gets associated with political "buzz words". At the mere mention, every wackjob on earth comes out of the woodwork and remind the politicians why they need to steer clear of "white activism". Sometime I have to wonder if the "white activism" scene isnt filled with anti-white bad seeds who intentionally proliferate a bad rep for any potential movement......
And for the record - Hal Turner himself refers to his material as "good, harmless entertainment" .. he represents nothing but cheap attempt at celebrity.

I would like to join in this conversation, but some of you people scare me. JohnH..., you sound too much like Matt Hale for my comfort.
I grew up in a very poor black neighborhood (I'm white). I hate the word, but it really was a ghetto. And I greatly disagree with the statement made previously that "Most racial hate crimes in this country are performed by Non-Whites against White victims. These crimes rarely get air time." If they rarely get air time, how do you know enough about them to make such a claim about them?

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have done more harm to the black community than good through their avarice and deviance. Jesse Jackson in particular is notorious for making his friends rich while everybody else is left holding the bag.
Instead, whites need to stick together and develop a sense of camaraderie. Instead of seeing fellow whites as brothers or "bloods", most whites see other whites as competitors, and anything done is fair.
Comity ways, or how we deal with each other, is an essential and integral component of any culture. Perhaps the greatest accomplishment of Republican economites and cultural Marxists is their obliteration of our people's comity ways. We just don't know how to stand in solidarity with one another--we're losing the ability even to get along with one another.

You know, this is quite possibly the biggest load of tripe I've read in years.
The quickest way to get yourself a ticket to death row is to be African-American and murder a white person. Look at the prison sentancing statistics: African-American males get roughly 50% longer prison sentances than white males for committing the same crimes.
One could say that we who are caucasian have several of our own Al Sharpton's and they happen to be wearing Judges' robes!

Another favorite fear-mongering strategy is to cite the "daytime talk show caricatures" which the mass media hopes to associate with the whole of the White Advocacy movement. Organizations such as Councils of Conservative Citizens are among the best at smashing that stereotype, however.
Regarding Hal Turner, perhaps the "entertainment" comment was made by someone else. A few of Hal Turner's favorite ways to describe his show are "Real free speech, no matter who 'doesan't like' it" and his allowing ANY viewpoint to be aired has been adequately demonstrated. Turner makes Rush Limbaugh sound like a Liberal and makes Sean Hannity sound like a pathetic wimp. Any "former Limbaugh fans" as I am, who were disgusted that he "sold out" and followed the "mainstream" slide to the Left will find Turner's still-Conservative message addresses exactly the topics that the likes of Limbaugh should be addressing, but fail to address because their employers' agendas are not served by such TRUTHS!

With passage of the Federal Reserve Act, Congress abdicated its Contitutionally-assigned responsibility for overseeing the coining of money by placing that responsibility with a private banking corporation known as the Federal Reserve which is a "parent company" consisting of a cartel of Jewish-controlled "member" banks.
This quotation by banking kingpin Mayer Rothschild, whose family's bank is one of the "member banks" of the Fed, speaks to the undue influence which banks can wield, "Permit me to issue a nation's currency, and I care not who makes its laws." which means that if he issues the money, he can BUY the obedience of any official in government.

At the time when the Federal Reserve Act and Internal Revenue Act were about to be passed, a letter, intercepted by elitist Jews in control of a newspaper empire, contained proof of marital infidelity by then-President Woodrow Wilson.

Another great thing about this country is that all our citizens are recognized as equal--you apparently have a major problem with that since you obviously have a problem with Jews, African-Americans, homosexuals and pretty much anyone who isn't caucasian, Christian, male and straight. Since "Former Martintonian from Denver, CO" presumes to know my personal likes and dislikes, let me clarify.
African-Americans (or any other race) who assimilate into Western culture and civilization (hardworking, law-abiding, English-speaking in public life, entering America legally, etc.) I have NO problem with whatsoever. Homosexuality is condemed by the word of God, so homosexuals are expected to keep it PRIVATE and take it up with Him if they disagree with His opinion of it. Incidentally, is it a "lifestyle" or an "orientation" or does the answer depend on what type of social/political agenda is being served at the moment? Jews should behave like the small percentage of the population which they represent and respect the rights of the majority. The worst of Zionists among them should NOT be trying to use other races, etc. as weapons to weaken the will of the majority.

To "jay from kankakee" the topic is White solidarity, but professional sports, since you mention it, is only a diversion which "lines the pockets" of corporations and elitists. Supporting local athletic clubs is a much more productive pastime for sports fans. Supporting hometown teams is much better for our local economies than supporting some big-league outfit from hundreds of miles from home.

No injuries, 2 arrests at protest over media's coverage of killings

The scene looked about the same Saturday as protesters, counter-protesters and more than 300 police gathered downtown at another rally against interracial crime.

The protest on the lawn of the City County Building resulted in two arrests but no other problems, authorities said.

"This is always stressful for everybody," Knoxville Police Chief Sterling P. Owen IV said. "But I think the most important thing is that no one got hurt."

A few more people showed up this time for the protest "in honor of" slaying victims Channon Christian, 21, and Christopher Newsom, 23. Police said the white Knox County couple were raped and killed during a January carjacking. Four men and a woman, all black, face various charges in their deaths. They could go to trial next year. Police say they've found no evidence that race played a role in the killings.

The protesters, led by Ken Gregg of the Dandridge-based Against Black Crimes Group, accused police, the media and the victims' families of trying to cover up the crimes.

"Our people are being murdered," Gregg said. "If it's a white-on-black crime, it's all over the national media. They don't charge these animals with a hate crime. If that's not hate, what was?"

The protests began Saturday morning as about 25 people stood in front of WATE, Channel 6, on Broadway and News Sentinel headquarters on Western Avenue, holding signs with such slogans as "Bring back the rope" and "Why the blackout?"

The group grew to a little less than 100 by the time the rally started at 1 p.m.

About 70 opponents stood across the street, chanting, dancing and waving signs as soul music and the words of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. played.

Jason Kaos of South Knoxville stood there with his 3-year-old son, Orion.

"We can't be silent about something like this," he said. "It's really important for my son to see that you have to confront these people."

Saturday's rally marked the second such protest downtown in less than a month. The first happened May 26 and opened with the arrest of its organizer, Alex Linder of Kirksville, Mo., as he headed down a closed street with a sign.

Linder showed up again Saturday but left his sign at home.

Saturday's only arrests came in a parking lot at the corner of Gay Street and Cumberland Avenue just before the rally started, Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk said.

Michael David Hahn, 49, of Corryton faces a charge of carrying a gun with intent to go armed. Timothy Tierney, 40, of Cincinnati faces a charge of possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, police said.

Hahn said he and Tierney went to the rally as sightseers, not participants for either side. He said he had borrowed a nephew's truck and didn't know it had a pistol in the glove compartment.

"I did nothing wrong," he said after leaving jail on bond Saturday night. "When I go to court, I expect I'll be absolved."

The protesters left around 3 p.m., to jeers from their opponents.

Linder and Gregg said they'll be back - maybe this fall, maybe in January.

"Our people want to do it, and the case is still not resolved," Linder said. "We want Channon Christian Day to replace Martin Luther King Day."

Police and opponents said they'll be ready.

"I believe this is going to bring our city closer together to make sure a crime like this doesn't happen again," said the Rev. Ezra Maize, president of the Knoxville branch of the NAACP. "And I'll be glad when this day's over."

Knoxville (WVLT) -- Channon Christian's father, Gary, responded to the rally that took place in Downtown Knoxville today.

"I think it was a hate crime. I think any kind of crime like that is a hate crime. Was it racial, no, I don't think so," Christian said.

He said he doesn't like anyone using his daughter's pictures for their own agenda.

Christian also said that he did not like the ralliers visiting Channon's grave site and says he will stop them if they try it again.

Knoxville (WVLT) -- One fact is indisputable, Channon Christian and her boyfriend Christopher Newsom, were white.

The four suspects charged with kidnapping, beating, raping, and killing them, are black.

Prosecutors and police have insisted that the crimes aren't racially motivated, but again today, outside groups of white separatists and supremacist rallied downtown, protesting that it was a hate crime, that demands national outrage.

For many, the rally was an undesired trip back in time.

"We're white people!, said Pastor Ken Gregg who organized the rally. "We founded this land and we're not going to take it!"

Deja vu in downtown Knoxville.

"You animals, you better crawl back in your hole," Gregg said.

"Knoxville doesn't want you, go home!" came the shouts from counter protesters.

Outside the city-county building it was white supremacists declaring their belief in "white pride" against the counter protesters.

"I'm a Knoxvillian," said Gloria McDonald, firmly against the rally, "We don't stand for this."

"This is about black on white crime," said Pastor Gregg.

Specifically the murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom, which is the reason Pastor Ken Gregg organized this second go-around.

"Yahweh, who's our God, inspired our people to stand-up because our people are being murdered all over the world."

He read's each sign, and shout's to show the young couple's murder was "a hate crime.

For veteran protester Gloria McDonald, it's tough talk to handle.

"I marched with Martin Luther King," McDonald said. "I marched with Malcolm X."

Today's sights and even the sounds were an unwelcome trip back in time.

"We did this in the 60s, McDonald said, "I did this in the 50s, I'm retired. I went somewhere for nice climate. I came down here and I ran into this."

But the hatred's is new for some.

"I wanted to see the manifestation of the hate in world and learn how to deal with it," said Whitney Simpson who attended the rally.

Police say today's rally was peaceful, but the future remains uncertain.

"I believe in white power," said protester Tim Pratt.

"History," Gloria McDonald said, "it will repeat itself."

A few days later in NYC, a Sikh teen named Vacher Harpal got his hair cut by some Muslim punks. I also asked to be alerted any time the names Raphael Lora, Fermin Arzu and Vacher Harpal came across the Internet. I wanted to see if the press would dismiss the NYC "hate" crimes as it has dismissed Knoxville story. As you can guess, that Sikh haircut "hate" crime has been picked up by papers from Ireland to South Africa to Australia, literally around the world, including India, of course, and Vancouver, Chicago and the International Herald Tribune in Paris, inter alia. The press overwhelmingly ignores the Knoxville torture murders and jumps all over the "hate" crime of the hair cut. Sikh talking heads are all in the news to educate Americans about the importance of Sikh hair. Although it was covered by some American papers and the International Herald Tribune, and Black Entertainment Television, the black cabby's death is not as widely covered as the Sikh haircut. However, the shooting is being called a hate crime by many, and Al Sharpton brought out the cast of his mobile street theater for the funeral of the cabby. The Honduras diplomatic staff is also outraged and making demands. Absolutely no one in the press has called Sharpton a black supremacist, nor were the Honduran protestors called "hispanic supremacists." The concept of racial supremacy is reserved by the media only for white people. It is a glaring double standard as the Duke lacrosse horror proves.

The solution? Electrolytes.

Is the Reverand Christian Identity? Look at the negro holding that "exploiting tragedy" sign, as if what happened was some natural disaster like a tsunami or earthquake, instead of a savage double-murder.

Yes, Gregg is Klan and CI, as I understand it.

The tragedy here is that the whole thing was competely avoidable.

The fans of integration favor a policy that produces 40,000 rapes a year that, if we still had freedom and segregation, would not happen.

"(AP) Police arrest two men during Knoxville rally over slain couple"

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.

Two men were arrested and charged on Saturday with carrying a gun and possessing marijuana at a racially charged protest over the murder of a Knoxville couple.

Michael David Hahn, 49, of Corryton, was charged with carrying a gun with intent to go armed, said Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk.

A Tennessee Highway patrol trooper spotted him getting out of his vehicle with a .40-caliber semiautomatic pistol, DeBusk said.

Timothy Tierney, 48, of Cincinnati, was charged with possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.

...the event that attracted about 100 people who gathered downtown for a protest "in honor of" Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom, the Knox County couple police say were raped and killed in a January carjacking.

Close to 300 police officers, deputies, state troopers and federal agents stood guard during the protest, which began around 1 p.m. and lasted two hours, The Knoxville News Sentinel reports.

Both carjacking victims were white while four suspects charged in their deaths are black. Protesters believe the crime was racially motivated although police say they have no evidence to support the theory.

Protesters on Saturday, led by Ken Greggof the Jefferson County-based ABC Group, claimed the media has ignored the case and refused to report all the details of what happened.

About 70 counter-protesters shouted and waved signs in opposition as soul music and the words of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. played on a stereo.

Hahn said he and Tierney went to the rally as sightseers, not participants for either side. He said he had borrowed a nephew's truck and didn't know it had a pistol in the glove compartment.

"I did nothing wrong," he said after leaving jail on bond Saturday night. "When I go to court, I expect I'll be absolved."

Saturday's rally marked the second suchprotest downtown. The first happened May 26 and began with the arrest of its organizer, Alex Linder of Kirksville, Mo.

Earlier this month, Linder pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, vandalism and assault on a police officer.

Police said Linder was holding a sign and walking in an area that police had blocked off to pedestrians. He ended up on the pavement after struggling with officers.

Fliers decry 'hate crimes' against Whites

The Mesa branch of a White supremacist group is distributing "tens of thousands" of fliers around the Valley, protesting what it calls a failure on the part of the press to cover "anti-White hate crime."

Specifically, the fliers say that the media have failed to properly cover a Knoxville, Tenn., slaying of a young White couple. Four Black men and a Black woman have been charged in the case.

"Whenever there is a White-on-Black crime, the media makes a big deal about it. But a Black-on-White crime doesn't get the same attention," said Alan Hosier, a member of the Mesa branch of the Nationalist Coalition, which defines itself on its Web site as an advocate for the White race.




The fliers, which have circulated in the Valley from Scottsdale to Gilbert, also have circulated recently in cities across the nation. They have been accompanied by protests and have fueled debates over their accuracy and intent.

L.B. Edison, a Gilbert resident who received the flier this week, said it was offensive.

"It scares me to think that people who have these hateful feelings can be wandering in my neighborhood or are possibly my own neighbors," Edison said.

Entitled "Another Anti-White Hate Crime the Mass Media Do Not Care About," the fliers show a picture of murder victims Christopher Newsom, 23, and Channon Christian, 21, of Knoxville. It includes pictures of five "Black perpetrators of this tragic hate crime," a phone number and Web site, and incorrectly says that the couple's bodies were dismembered.

The couple were carjacked and kidnapped Jan. 6 and taken to a Knoxville apartment, where both were raped. Newsom was shot, his body burned and left by railroad tracks. Christian was strangled.

Fliers get national press
The Nationalist Coalition is among other groups that have held rallies and distributed leaflets for months to pressure more media outlets to report the couple's murder and torture.

The Montgomery, Ala.-based Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks groups affiliated with hate crimes, classifies the Nationalist Coalition as neo-Nazis.

Jamie Satterfield, a reporter for the Knoxville News Sentinel, said she gets 40 to 50 e-mails a day from readers accusing her of not covering the case.

"We are covering it ad nauseam," Satterfield said, adding that the murders "are a huge case here but not a huge case nationally. I don't know that it is any more horrible than murders in Detroit or LA."

Satterfield said the clamor over the case may make it difficult to pick a local jury for a trial, possibly in September.

Demonstrators, she said, are expected to picket the Sentinel today.

NAACP concerned
The Rev. Oscar Tillman, president of the Maricopa County branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, said several Valley residents have called him about the fliers.

"Some people worry whether those people in Mesa are trying to get the Klu Klux Klan going again," Tillman said.

Hosier of the Nationalist Coalition said the group began distributing the fliers in the Valley earlier this week and planned to finish this weekend. There are reports that they are also being handed out in Oregon, New York, Alabama and Georgia.

The handout suggests Black leaders Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be "marching in the streets" if the victims had been African-American, but are ignoring "this horrendous crime."

Tillman disagrees, saying there have been many cases in which Black victims did not get the expansive media coverage as Whites.

By using the word "perpetrators," the fliers have condemned the suspects, four of whom are charged with murder, Tillman said.

"Charging someone with a crime and convicting them are two different things," Tillman said.

Police Blocking Off Roads in Preparations for Rally

(WVLT) - For the second time in less than a month, downtown Knoxville will be home to a racially-charged rally.

Organizers plan to protest as a response to the murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.

The couple was white and all the suspects arrested in connection with the crime are black.

Volunteer TV's Mike McCarthy spoke with police and with the organizer of the rally.

Downtown might feel like deja vu come Saturday afternoon.

But, organizers of this rally say you can expect it to be bigger and louder.

"Always remember Channon and Christopher!"

Those are words that could echo again in downtown Knoxville.

"This will be a much bigger rally and for that reason, a much better rally," says Jamie Kelso, with www.stormfront.org.

Just three weeks ago, white supremacists rallied outside the old Knoxville courthouse.

So tomorrow could feel familiar.

"This is really a bunch of angry white folks," says Kelso.

They are angered by the murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.

"We want this particular crime to be categorized by the prosecutor here as a hate crime, a racial hate crime," says Kelso.

Organizers say the two-rallies aren't connected.

But police say they'll treat them the same.

Just as they did three weeks ago, the Knoxville Police Department, state and federal officers will stand curbside.

"We're not trying to stop anyone's right to free speech. We're just trying to maintain everyone's safety while they do so," says Darrel DeBusk, with the Knoxville Police Department.

And part of that effort means traffic control.

On Friday, KPD officers bagged most parking spots around the courthouse, mostly on Main and Locust.

"We actually have to close 3 or 4 roads," says DeBusk.

By midmorning on Saturday, Main Street, Hill Avenue, Walnut, and parts of Locust around the courthouse will be off limits to traffic.

"We will be completely peaceful, completely law abiding, and we're exercising our first amendment rights," says Kelso.

"We hope it goes as smoothly as it did last time," says DeBusk.

The last time wasn't a cheap time.

KPD says their rally expenses along totaled $50,000, with $35,000 going to officer overtime and $15,000 to equipment.

"It's not an organization that doing it. There's not a list of people coming. It's just people spontaneously coming here," says Kelso.

That could mean hundreds of protesters.

A far cry from the roughly two dozen who showed up last time.

Organizers don't have an expected number of participants because the rally's largely been promoted online.

KPD says all the road closures will be limited around the courthouse.

Saturday rally will displace bus riders

White supremacists target downtown, TV stations, newspaper

When Hubert Smith stepped off the public bus and onto Locust Street in downtown Knoxville one Saturday a few weeks ago, he had no idea what was unfolding just down the block and around the corner.

He only wondered why the bus had stopped short of its usual exit point along Main Street, leaving dozens of transit riders - some elderly or disabled - waiting for their next bus in the day's 90-degree heat, with little shade and no benches on which to sit.



As Smith discovered later, city officials shut down Main Street that day, May 26, as a safety precaution during a white supremacist rally on the lawn of the old Knox County Courthouse.

Most Knoxvillians who knew of the rally ahead of time knew they could easily avoid it if it wasn't their cup of tea. But for those riders, many who have no other choice but to take the bus, Smith argues that KAT's backup transfer point was inconvenient and ill-considered.

"I'm a free speech advocate; free speech is not the issue here," said Smith, who also hosts a local weekly talk-radio show. "The question is, whose rights are we accommodating?"

Public transit users or not, city and county taxpayers as a whole spent a small fortune that day on the law enforcement provided, which outnumbered the fewer than 30 demonstrators 10-to-1.

The event went smoothly enough, with one arrest and no injuries among the crowd, which also included about twice as many counter-protesters as the rally attendees.

Although officials declined to provide specific estimates, the Knoxville Police Department expects a larger group of demonstrators this Saturday for a second rally that's set to take place on the lawn of the City County Building along Main Street.

This time it's a different white supremacist group, known as the ABC Group, or Against Black Crime, that's publicizing the demonstration on a Web site as part of a three-day series of events.

Beyond downtown, protests also are planned on public property near the News Sentinel offices, as well as those of WATE, Channel 6, WBIR, Channel 10 and WVLT, Channel 8.

The group has taken aim at the media outlets for their refusal to characterize the January kidnapping, rape and murder of University of Tennessee student Channon Christian and her boyfriend, Christopher Newsom, as hate crimes. The victims were white; the five suspects charged in connection with the crimes are black.

"And there's other white supremacist groups, other (Ku Klux) Klan groups that have been promoting the event," said Darrell DeBusk, KPD spokesman.

Likewise, some of the counter-protest groups that faced off with the demonstrators last month are rallying their members again on their own Web sites.

KPD's costs to staff the previous rally included about $35,000, primarily for overtime pay among the 200-plus officers who were on hand. Another $15,769 was spent on extra equipment, such as elbow pads, riot shields and portable fencing.

The city's engineering and fire departments also incurred some $2,300 in overtime costs, collectively.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office assigned 35 officers to the event at a regular pay rate cost of about $5,700, plus another $475 in new equipment, and $1,200 to operate one of its helicopters throughout the event.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol, which did not provide cost figures, accompanied local police with a 25-trooper riot squad. With a larger rally expected this weekend, THP officials said they would send 45 troopers this time.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and federal agents also are likely to be among the crowd again.

Meanwhile, KAT still plans to relocate its bus transfer point back to the Locust block for the day, said General Manager Cindy McGinnis.

It's not a perfect fit, she said, but options are limited in the downtown area. As before, however, the Locust Street site will be staffed with extra supervisors, as well as a courtesy van for anyone who might have a particularly hard time waiting outside.

Saturdays see fewer than half of the typical 3,000 people a day who come through Knoxville Area Transit's normal bus transfer point on Main Street during the workweek.

But that still left maybe a 1,000 or more riders, Smith guessed, to negotiate Locust, where, with less space, the buses had to park in front of the John J. Duncan Federal Building on both sides of street, which forced some to step off the buses into the lanes of traffic to reach the closest curb.

"Keep in mind, regular traffic did not have to stop coming through," said Smith, a former member of the Knoxville Transportation Authority's advisory board. "That block was not closed to other traffic."

Still, McGinnis said she hasn't heard Smith's complaints echoed by other riders.

"Something on one or two Saturdays out of 365 days of the year I don't think is what a bus rider would say inconveniences them about KAT," McGinnis said. "I think what inconveniences riders is not having as-frequent service."

Still, Smith remained skeptical.

"When do people who have no choice ever complain?" he argued. "Most people just take it."

No conspiracy, just another heinous crime
Media didn't try to cover up black-on-white murders

What happened to Channon Christian, 21, and Christopher Newsom, 23, is almost too horrible to contemplate.

The Knoxville, Tenn., couple fell victim to four crazed young criminals during a carjacking. The perpetrators allegedly kidnapped Christian and Newsome and brutally raped both of them before killing them.

Newsom was shot, his body burned and dumped beside the railroad tracks. Christian was strangled and left in garbage bags.

This heinous crime occurred in January. But it wasn't until recently that the tragedy has been talked about outside of blog posts on the Internet. Maybe that wouldn't have been the case had people not felt the need to embellish these already sordid facts with outright fiction.

Because Christian and Newsom were white and their alleged killers are black, the couple's brutal murder has been fodder for people who are convinced that the "mainstream" media conspired to keep this sickening black-on-white violence out of the news.

Lurid details fabricated

Most of the complaints I get are from readers who claim that murders of black victims are often ignored or downplayed, while a homicide involving a white victim -- especially one from an affluent suburb -- is front-page news. It doesn't do a lot of good to try to explain to them that there are so many homicides involving black victims that the media could not possibly report them all as front-page news.

So it is a little surprising that we are now being beaten-down because this story didn't go national. Last week, that changed when several national columnists stepped up to sort the fact from fiction in this case. And on Sunday, the Chicago Tribune ran a front-page story on the murders under the headline: "What is a hate crime?"

It probably took so long for this story to get legs, so to speak, because of the incendiary claims about what happened to Christian and Newsom before they were killed that have been spread on the Internet. For example, a Web site dedicated to debunking urban legends posted an e-mail that is reflective of the e-mails I've gotten about this crime:

"The animals pictured below car-jacked, then raped Christopher Newsom, cut off his penis, then set him on fire and fatally shot him several times while they forced his girlfriend, Channon Christian, to watch. . . . Channon Christian was beaten and gang-raped in many ways for four days by all of them, while they took turns urinating on her. Then they cut off her breast and put chemicals in her mouth. . . . then murdered her."

Frankly, the truth is horrible enough. So it is difficult to see the embellishments as anything other than a white supremacist rant.

Was it inspired by hate?

Fortunately, the painful truth about this terrible crime is slowly emerging -- painful because it's just another tragic example of how lost and how disturbed some young people are.

We know now that Christian and Newsom were not mutilated, that Christian was not raped over four days and she was killed within one day of the kidnapping.

But even without the explosive false accusations, these murders raise legitimate questions about the way in which some crimes are labeled "hate crimes."

For instance, while Newsom's father, Hugh Newsom, initially agreed with law enforcement that the crime was not racially motivated, the heinous nature in which the killings were carried out has him wondering whether race did indeed play a role in the murders.

"I don't think it started out that way, but from all indications we have, it developed into that," Newsom said in published interviews.

That would mean that there's reason to believe the four black attackers would have treated black victims differently. It would mean that these criminals probably would not have kidnapped and raped a black couple, or that they would not have tried to cover up their crime by killing their victims.

Black-on-black crime just as vile

I understand how Newsom's father feels. What happened to his son is incomprehensible. But given the coldhearted black-on-black crimes that continue to tear apart urban communities, there's not much basis for such an argument.

Black victims have often been killed in horrible ways, and those murders weren't reported, either.

Like all senseless murders, even if it's not classified as a hate crime, it is still a matter of hate.

When three Duke University lacrosse players were charged by the school with raping a hired stripper at a late-night party, this accusation – eventually dropped because it was false – was massively reported in all media.

The three young men, now exonerated, are white. She is black.

Was there any U.S. media at all that failed to report the actual 1998 murder of a black man named James Bryd, by three white Texans, who chained him to the back of a pickup truck and dragged him to his death?

No known daily newspaper, radio or TV station in the U.S. failed to report this interracial atrocity, for which the perpetrators were tried and convicted.

Then, in January of this year, reported syndicated columnist Leonard Pitts Jr. of the Miami Herald, in the Baltimore Sun on June 3rd:

"A young white couple, Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom , were victims of a brutal crime. They were carjacked kidnapped and raped. Cleaning fluid was sprayed into Ms. Christian's mouth. She was stuffed in a trash can and apparently suffocated. Mr. Newsom was shot and set afire. His body was dumped. Five blacks, one a woman, have been arrested."

Columnist Pitts' account is accurate – as far as it goes. But he did not report that the four men who forced Channon to watch as they anally raped her boyfriend – and later raped her – for days – are now in jail. They are charged with 45 felony counts, including first-degree murder, robbery, rape, kidnapping and theft. The one woman with them was indicted on charges of carjacking.

From John North, Sunday editor of the Knoxville News-Sentinel, I learned that reports of Newsom and Christian having parts of their bodies cut off, and her body set fire after being cut apart, are not reliable. Her body was found in trash bags.

North also told me he had learned that in early June, CNN is scheduled to report on this case, as is Fox News and NBC.

But why haven't they done so earlier since this interracial atrocity took place in January?

This case has been reported extensively, by WorldNetDaily, Cybercast News Service, National Review magazine and the Associated Press.

But why has this undeniable news been censored by both the New York Times and the Washington Post, along with so much of the rest of the Old Big Media?

As columnist Pitts wrote:

"The story made headlines around Knoxville. It was unnoticed nationally."

Yet this 2004 Pulitzer Prize recipient opened his column about this with the following:

"It always amazes me when white people put on the victim hat. As in victim of racial oppression. By any measure – health, education, economics, employment – white Americans enjoy a superior standard of living. If that's racial oppression, sign me up." (What does the Columbia School of Journalism, which awards Pulitzers, think of that paragraph as the opening of a column about four blacks carjacking, gang raping, torturing and murdering two whites?)

"But still, one occasionally hears mewling noises from that subset of my white countrymen who feel put upon by big bad racial minorities. This is one of those times." (This gang rape torture and murder is the subject of this column – and those four so-indicted are here described as "big bad racial minorities." Is that supposed to be clever?)

"A constellation of white supremacists and conservative bloggers has pushed the story into the national limelight. � Bloggers such as Michael Oliver have chastised the 'liberal, biased mainstream media' for missing the Knoxville story. He asked: 'Had the roles been reversed, would the media ignore such a horrific crime?' Truth is, media ignore horrific crimes all the time. Space is limited and growing more so." (To the question: "Had the roles been reversed would the media ignore?" Pulitzer Prizer Pitts responds: "Space is limited.")

"I'm obligated, because I'm black, to say that if the defendants in this case did what they are accused of doing, I'd be happy to see them rot under the jailhouse. Sadly, that needs saying because there are people who will not take it as a given." (Were you Hispanic, Oriental, American Indian, Eskimo, or white you would not be obligated – no, but "because I'm black.")

"But with that obligation fulfilled, let me add that I am likewise unkindly disposed towards the crackpots, incendiaries and flat-out racists who have chosen this tragedy upon which to take an obscene ludicrous stand. I have four words for them and any other white Americans who feel themselves similarly victimized: Cry me a river." (Such incredibly racist rhetoric hardly suggests a river rather than what is widely euphemized as "the well-known tributary".)

When hate crime is not a black and white issue

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — What happened to Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom, a young Knoxville couple out on an ordinary Saturday night date, was undeniably brutal. The pair were carjacked, kidnapped, raped and finally murdered during an ordeal of unimaginable terror last January.

But whether the attack was a racial hate crime worthy of national media attention is another question, one that has now ignited a fierce dispute over the definition of hate crimes and how the mainstream media choose to cover interracial attacks.

That's because the murders of Christian and Newsom didn't fit the familiar contours of a traditional Old South attack, in which whites target blacks and reporters quickly assume the motivation must have been racial.

Instead, the races were reversed: Christian and Newsom were white; the three men and one woman charged with their murders are black. And the consequent failure of the story to gain much media attention outside of the Knoxville area has galvanized conservative commentators across the country, who insist the case offers clear evidence of liberal bias in the major media.

They have launched a broad Internet campaign, waged via blogs, e-mails and YouTube videos, to counter what they regard as suppression of a story about an anti-white hate crime.

"There is a discomfort level [in the national media] with stories that have black assailants and white victims," said Michelle Malkin, a prominent conservative newspaper columnist and TV commentator who has featured the Knoxville case on her Web site. "If it doesn't fit some sort of predetermined narrative of how we view taboo subjects like race and crime, there's a disinclination to cover it."

Country-music star Charlie Daniels, who lives 150 miles from Knoxville, contrasted scant coverage of the Christian-Newsom murders with the national media frenzy that erupted last year when a black woman accused three white members of the Duke University lacrosse team of raping her at a party. The white players were cleared in April after the accuser changed her story several times and no evidence corroborated a crime.

"If this [Knoxville case] had been white on black crime, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and their ilk would have descended on Knoxville like a swarm of angry bees," Daniels wrote on his Web site.

Neo-Nazis and other white supremacists have jumped on the case as well, drawn to the state where the Ku Klux Klan was founded in 1865. Hate groups have organized rallies in Knoxville and set up Web sites under the victims' names to spew racial invective.

But it's not just conservative whites and extremists who have criticized the national silence over the Knoxville case.

"Black leaders are not eager to take this on because it's one more thing that would cast a negative light on African Americans," said Earl Ofari Hutchinson, an author and nationally syndicated black columnist who has written frequently about the reluctance of black leaders to denounce crimes committed by blacks against whites. "There's already an ancient stereotype that blacks are more violent and crime-prone anyway."

The Rev. Ezra Maize, president of the Knoxville chapter of the NAACP, has been one of the few black leaders to address the case.

"It doesn't make me uncomfortable speaking out against this crime because it was African Americans [allegedly] committing a crime against Caucasians," Maize said. "It's not a black and white issue. It's a right and wrong issue. Those who committed this crime were unjust in doing so and they should pay the penalty."

The murders of Newsom and Christian have proved so resonant because they play into some of the deepest fears of urban crime harbored by many Americans. By all the accounts of authorities, the couple — Newsom, 23, was a talented carpenter and former high-school baseball star; Christian, 21, was a senior at the University of Tennessee — fell victim to a random carjacking last Jan. 6 in the parking lot of an apartment complex where they had gone to visit friends.

Authorities say the couple's assailants, some of them ex-convicts, forced their victims to drive at gunpoint to a clapboard house in one of Knoxville's roughest neighborhoods, where both victims were first raped and then killed. Newsom's body, shot and burned, was found dumped beside nearby railroad tracks, while Christian, who was strangled, was found bundled in plastic garbage bags inside the house.

State prosecutors have lodged murder, rape and other charges against brothers Lemaricus Davidson, 25, and Letalvis Cobbins, 24; Cobbins' girlfriend, Vanessa Coleman, 18; and George Thomas, 24. Their trials are set for next year, and officials have not yet said whether they will seek the death penalty. A fifth suspect was charged in federal court as an accessory.

Yet as brutal as the crime was, Knoxville authorities have strongly denied that it was racially motivated. And they have sought to correct rumors, eagerly spread by white supremacist Web sites, that the couple had been sexually mutilated before they were killed and their bodies dismembered afterward.

"There is absolutely no proof of a hate crime," said John Gill, special counsel to Knox County District Attorney Randy Nichols. "It was a terrible crime, a horrendous crime, but race was not a motive. We know from our investigation that the people charged in this case were friends with white people, socialized with white people, dated white people. So not only is there no evidence of any racial animus, there's evidence to the contrary."

Official hate crime or not, most conservative critics say the Knoxville case illustrates what they call the general reluctance of the mainstream media to report black-on-white crimes. As examples, many cite a 1999 incident in North Charleston, S.C., in which seven black youths attacked two white bicyclists riding through their neighborhood, leaving one permanently disabled; a 2000 mass-murder case in Wichita, Kan., in which two black brothers kidnapped and killed four white victims; and an attack last year in Long Beach, Calif., in which 11 black teenagers attacked and severely beat three young white women.

Only the Long Beach case was charged by local authorities as a hate crime, and none of the stories drew sustained national attention.

"You've seen a lot of people with impeccable credentials making the point that the press does play up white-on-black crime and play down black-on-white crime," said Glenn Reynolds, a University of Tennessee law professor who publishes political and media commentaries on his widely read Instapundit blog. "I think it's a fair criticism. And it just empowers the crazies when the mainstream media soft-pedals this stuff."

In reality, statistics from the FBI and the Justice Department offer a decidedly mixed picture of crime and race in America.

On the one hand, African Americans bear the brunt of violent crime in the U.S.: In 2005, the most recent year for which statistics are available, blacks were more than twice as likely as whites to fall victim to serious violent crime, most often at the hands of other blacks.

Blacks are also the overwhelming majority of victims of attacks officially recorded by the FBI as hate crimes. In 2005, blacks were the victims in 68 percent of nearly 5,000 hate-crime incidents nationwide, while whites were the victims in 20 percent of the cases. Whites accounted for 60 percent of known hate-crime offenders, while blacks accounted for 20 percent.

But on the other hand, when overall cross-racial violent crimes are tabulated — including incidents not formally classified as racially motivated hate crimes — Justice Department statistics show that blacks attack whites far more often than whites attack blacks.

In 2005, there were more than 645,000 victims of cross-racial violent crimes between blacks and whites in the U.S. In 90 percent of those crimes, black offenders attacked white victims.

"In the old days," said Hutchinson, contemplating that statistic, "when you said 'hate crimes,' it was automatic — whites victimizing blacks. Today you have to pause for a minute and not make automatic assumptions."

Obviously continental separation would be better, but don't doubt that Jim Crow was a good system as far as keeping the niggers domesticated. Where you have White MEN willing and able to enforce Jim Crow, "interracial crime" doesn't exist.
