COOK COUNTY - An undocumented immigrant who pleaded guilty Monday to molesting the two teenage sons of a church couple who befriended him drew a sharp rebuke from the judge who sentenced him to 6 years in prison.

Alejandro Bautista, 33, of the 1400 block of Devonshire Lane, Hoffman Estates, pleaded guilty to criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse before Cook County Circuit Judge Thomas Fecarotta Jr.

An angry Fecarotta asked Bautista if he was a legal immigrant. Through an interpreter, Bautista said he crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.

"You cross our border to molest our children?" Fecarotta asked in the Rolling Meadows courthouse. "When you get out of prison, go back to your country. Stay out of ours."…

He (Alejandro Bautista) faces deportation upon his release from prison. Bautista also will have to register as a sex offender.

HURON(Ohio) -- A man suspected of being an illegal alien was charged with gross sexual imposition after he was accused of entering an apartment and lying down next to and touching the thigh of a sleeping 8-year-old girl, according to Huron police.

Lucio Sanchez-Martinez, 32, also was charged with entering the apartment where the girl lived with her father and two other children, …

The girl told police she was sleeping and awoke to find a man lying next to her and rubbing her thigh,... the man pretended to be asleep but had a smile on his face, the girl said.

The girl went into another room and told her father who then left the apartment to confront the man,...

The father found Sanchez-Martinez …then punched Sanchez-Martinez in the face and threw him down a flight of stairs. Sanchez-Martinez suffered slight injuries, but the father was not charged in the incident,...

Sanchez-Martinez did not live in the building…”He did not know the family and entered the apartment through an unlocked door”, the chief of police said.

BREWSTER (NY) - A 32-year-old Brewster man who police say is in the country illegally from Guatemala faces felony charges after sexually abusing two girls, ages 10 and 11, police said today.

Sergio Antonio Martinez-Garza is being held today at the Putnam County jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office….

Martinez-Garza, of 550 N. Main St., touched the girls' private parts at a residence in Brewster, police said.

Sheriff's investigators arrested him Sunday, Sept. 10…That is the same date that two other village men in the country illegally are due to appear in Village Court to answer statutory rape charges. Police allege that Pedro Sagastume, 21, and Jeremias Perez, 22, had sex with two girls, 13 and 15, in the men's apartment at 167 Main St. The two men have been held on $50,000 bail since their July 15 arrests….

GASTONIA, N.C. -- Police in Gaston County say an illegal immigrant kidnapped and tried to sexually assault two little girls Saturday.

They say Ramon Zamora-Solano, 41, told the girls to come into his apartment in Gastonia. The 6- and 5-year-old girls were playing outside at a birthday party on Duhart Avenue. Police say the girls said no, and Zamora-Solano hit them and dragged them into the apartment by their hair before locking the door.

The girls’ parents went looking for them, and found them in the apartment. They say Zamora-Solano’s pants were open, and one of the girls' dresses was pulled up. The girls’ fathers attacked Ramon Zamora Solano, leaving him bruised.

Zamora-Solano told a judge Monday he wanted to explain his side of the story. But the judge told him to talk to his lawyer first.

Kelynn Byrd's grandmother says burying her 2-year-old grandson was the hardest thing she ever had to do."He is, he's very beautiful and he was so sweet," said Kelynn’s grandmother Michelle Ebel.

The toddler's life was cut short when he died from blunt chest and abdominal trauma. Police say his mother's boyfriend, Michael Hernandez, was the only one home at the time of the boy's injury. And they say Hernandez confessed to repeatedly kicking Kelynn in the chest.

"Whatever kind of anger that can lead up to someone doing that to a 2-and-a-half-year-old boy is just beyond me," said Ebel….

Michael Hernandez will be back in court next month for a preliminary hearing.

Woman, Son Hold Man Accused Of Raping Girl

According to police, Jesus Valenzuela (pictured) entered the home, located in the 6000 block of Sunwood Drive on the city's northwest side, and raped the girl in her bedroom.
The girl's mother told police that she awoke at about 4:30 a.m. and found the home's patio door open. When she went to check on her children, she found Valenzuela raping the 5-year-old, police said.

Police said the woman pulled Valenzuela off her daughter and yelled for help from her 13-year-old daughter, who was asleep in the same bedroom, and her 18-year-old son, who also was asleep in the home.

The 13-year-old called 911, and the son arrived to help his mother, police said.
"Of course, the suspect is trying to get away. The 18-year-old son arrives, and they're able to subdue (Valenzuela) and hold him there for the police to come and get," Indianapolis police Sgt. Matt Mount said.

Police said Valenzuela refused to answer investigators' questions. They said he is a Mexican national who may be in the U.S. illegally….

The father of a 14-year-old Texas girl who was raped, sodomized and then strangled with a belt and shoe laces, wants to know why President Bush supports halting the execution of the Mexican national who confessed to killing his daughter and her friend.

"Our daughters are just pawns in a game that we have no control over," Randy Ertman, father of Jennifer Ertman, told FOX News. "What can I say to the president of the United States or the Supreme Court that would make any difference?"

Jennifer Ertman, 14, and her classmate, Elizabeth Pena, 16, were brutally raped and killed in 1993 after stumbling upon a gang. Jose "Joe" Ernesto Medellin, who was born in Mexico but spent much of his childhood in Texas, confessed to the killings and was sentenced to death. But 14 years later, Medellin still sits in a Texas prison cell as the White House argues that his conviction was flawed because Houston police failed to tell him of his right to seek help from the Mexican consulate.

Medellin's right to seek legal advice from Mexican diplomats is protected by the 1963 Vienna Convention, an international treaty that President Bush must follow under the U.S. Constitution, said Susan Gzesh, director of the human rights program at the University of Chicago.

"If the U.S. is going to disobey the obligations we've undertaken under the Vienna Convention, then other countries could retaliate," Gzesh said. "Bush is following the treaty."….

Medellin's crime stands out as one of the state's most heinous.

On a summer night in 1993, Jennifer Ertman and her friend Elizabeth Pena, both students at Houston's Waltrip High School, took a shortcut home through a park from another friend's house when they encountered Medellin and seven other members of the Black and Whites gang.

Raul Villareal, 17, was being initiated into the gang, which required him to fight other gang members for several minutes. Following the ritual, the teens sat in the park drinking beer.
Around 11:30 p.m., as Ertman and Pena passed the young men, Medellin grabbed Pena and dragged her down a hill.

According to court testimony, Ertman was able to run away but heard Pena's cries and returned to help. The other boys grabbed Ertman, and for the next hour proceeded to rape, sodomize and beat the girls before strangling them.
The final act of brutality came when the girl's bodies were stomped on to make sure they were dead, court testimony shows.

The boys' were so brazen about their actions that one of them, Derrick Sean O'Brien, even turned up smiling on videotape taken by local news crews reporting at the scene.
The girls' bodies, meanwhile, were found four days later in a nearby woods.

O'Brien, Medellin and the other gang members were arrested after police received a tip from a brother of one of the gang members.

O'Brien told police that he and the other gang members raped both of the girls, and that Medellin strangled Ertman with a red nylon belt that was pulled so tight around her throat it snapped in two….

VICTORVILLE (California) — A 3-year-old girl was found abused and bleeding Thursday night, and officials have arrested her uncle, an illegal alien, for child molestation.

Salvador Luna, 29, who was previously deported, was arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse of a child and was taken to the Victorville sheriff’s station where he underwent a physical examination, said Detective Ryan Collins….

Around 6:30 p.m. the mother, father, the 3-year-old and her siblings were watching television in the parent’s room, a few doors down from where Luna was staying, Hughes said.

“She is in the uncle’s room for a while this time, long enough for mom to wonder where she was,” Hughes said. “When mom found the child she could see that she was visibly upset. Mom picks her up and when she put her down, now there’s blood all over mom’s shirt.”

The woman took the child to a neighboring home where the resident was a nurse to have the girl checked out. The nurse immediately dialed 911 and advised the family to stay away from the home until authorities arrived, said Karen Hunt, spokeswoman for the Victorville station.

Officials arrived at the home and had Luna in custody in under five minutes, Hughes said….

In 2000, Luna was arrested in Ventura County on suspicion of annoying or molesting a child and sexual assault, said Detective John Wickum. It is unknown whether Luna was convicted, but the family said he was deported shortly after, officials confirmed.

“His criminal history drops off in 2001,and he re-surfaces again in 2006 with a DUI arrest in Victorville,” Wickum said.

Additional information came in that there could be as many as four other family members who have been past victims, but that remained under investigation on Friday, officials said….

Luna is being held at the Victor Valley Jail on $250,000 bail, officials said.

As she was coming out of the ladies' room in the store Javier Ramos has admitted to police he forced his way in to the ladies' room, grabbed the girl and forced her to the floor.

Several people heard her screams and when they opened the door the suspect ran out being followed by several of the witnesses. One of the witnesses caught up to Ramos as he tried to enter his car, a scuffle ensued, and Ramos escaped after assaulting the man by kicking him in the stomach. Ramos continued on foot… but a citizen who recognized him from the incident grabbed Ramos and held him until police officers arrived.

Ramos was booked for kidnapping, attempted sexual misconduct with a minor, aggravated assault on a minor, and for an outstanding warrant on the driving on suspended.

Ramos also admitted to police he is in the country illegally.

Men indicted in rape, sexual abuse of 2 girls

A Clackamas County grand jury indicted two men this week on rape and sexual abuse charges involving two Oregon City girls, ages 14 and 15.

Alejandro Hernandez Flores, 19, of Milwaukie and Mario Alberto Flores Estrada, 20, of the Los Angeles area are accused of giving alcohol to the girls, then having sex with them.

Hernandez Flores was charged with forcible rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and unlawful sexual penetration. Flores Estrada was charged with rape, sexual abuse and furnishing alcohol to minors. Neither man appears to have a criminal history in Oregon.

The men, who told police they are cousins, admitted to federal immigration authorities that they entered the United States illegally from Mexico, said Lorie Dankers, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman, and are also being held on an immigration detainer.

A trial on the Clackamas County charges is scheduled for Oct. 5. At the end of the criminal case and any associated jail time if convicted, the men will be turned over to federal authorities for possible deportation.

An Oregon City patrol officer discovered the men and girls about 2 a.m. Aug. 7 at Gardiner Middle School, said Lt. Lisa Nunes, police department spokeswoman. The girls, who also are cousins, left home without permission and rode with the men to the school, where they drank tequila, Nunes said.

Hernandez Flores met the girls a few years ago at Clackamas Town Center and called them last week to arrange a meeting, said Michael Regan, senior deputy district attorney.

Franklin man charged with rape, sexual abuse

A man who authorities say is an illegal immigrant has been charged with rape and sexual abuse.

Officials with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said 38-year-old Alvaro Vargas, 203 Califas Road, Russellville, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Investigators said Vargas is accused of sexually attacking a 12-year-old girl who was a family friend.

Authorities said the situation has apparently been going on for sometime.

The girl was 11 years old when the incidents took place, officials said….

Investigators said that after locating Vargas' residence, they set up surveillance for more than six hours before he came home and was taken into custody.

Authorities said once in custody, Vargas, who has been in the U.S. illegally for 26 years and in the Russellville area for the past six years, presented them with a false Social Security card….

Vargas is being held in the Franklin County Jail on bail totaling $157,500 and is also being held for U.S. Immigrations….

Indiantown illegal immigrant arrested on child molestation charge

INDIANTOWN — A 52-year-old illegal immigrant has been arrested and charged with sexual battery on a child after allegedly molesting a 6-year-old boy, according to Martin County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Ruben Hernandez-Juarez, who lived in the 15800 block of Southwest Osceola Street in Indiantown, was arrested Tuesday for the alleged incident, which occurred on Sunday, according to reports.

The arresting detective requested Hernandez-Juarez be held without bail because he is an illegal resident.

Police arrest illegal immigrant on sexual assault charges

DANBURY -- Police charged a 26-year-old Ecuadorean native with first-degree sexual assault and three counts of risk of injury to a minor following a complaint of a sexual assault dating back to May.

Police said the victim is under 16 years old. The suspect, Efren Guallpa, is not a relative of the minor. Police said he may have been living at the family's home at the time of the attacks.

His present address is East Liberty Street.

Police said during the investigation, police learned Guallpa was in the country illegally, and in addition to the $250,000 bond on the assault charge, he is being held on a warrant for a future arrest by the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement branch of the department of Homeland Security.
Detectives from the department's Youth Bureau made the arrest.

The incident was reported by the boy’s mother about 3:45 a.m., soon after the assault is believed to have taken place, said Detective Matt Walsh.

The man, who police will ask prosecutors to charge with first-degree sexual assault, is the third illegal immigrant arrested for a felony offense in recent weeks.

Few details on the nature of the assault were available Saturday, but Walsh said police believe it is a one-time occurrence. He said the boy’s mother suspected something had happened and called police after confirming it with her son.

The man was a friend of the boy’s family and is believed to have been living in Sheboygan about six months, Walsh said.

In other recent cases, illegal immigrant Eddie Carbajal-Lile, 27, has been charged with causing a fatal crash that killed a Port Washington teen on Aug. 14.

Stranger breaks into Mesa child’s bedroom

A 24-year-old man broke through a window into a child’s bedroom while the boy slept this weekend, Mesa police said.

Court records show the mother awoke to the sounds of breaking glass and her son’s screams about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. She investigated and found a stranger bleeding in her 11-year-old son’s bedroom.

Police later identified the suspect as Oscar Lagunes Rivera, an illegal immigrant living about one-half mile from the victims near Eighth Avenue and Sirrine in west Mesa.

According to court records, the intruder jumped back through the broken window and left the scene. The mother told police she rushed to her front door and watched the man run south.

Police investigators found blood on the sidewalk and later found Rivera walking south in the neighborhood with blood on his pants and shirt.

An officer asked Rivera if he was OK, and Rivera said he was fine and had already been treated at a hospital for his injuries. Court records show Rivera told the officer he could not remember why he was in the neighborhood.

The mother and child identified Rivera as the intruder in their home, and police arrested him on suspicion of criminal trespassing and criminal damage. Neither charge would qualify as a serious felony, which means Proposition 100 would not apply to the case.

That proposition, which voters approved in November, denies bail for illegal immigrants accused of serious felonies.

Simon Rios, 35, pleaded guilty in August to four counts of murder and two counts of moving a body from the scene of a violent or suspicious death in the beating and strangulation death of his wife, Ana Casas-Rios, 28, and the strangling deaths of their three daughters, Liliana, 10, Katherinne, 4, and 20-month-old Thannya.

They were killed Dec. 13, 2005, in their Fort Wayne home.

During an emotional sentencing hearing Monday in which Rios, defense attorney Michelle Kraus and Allen County Prosecutor Karen Richards all shed tears, Superior Judge Fran Gull accepted the plea agreement that allowed Rios to avoid facing the death penalty.

Before agreeing to a plea, defense attorneys had been seeking to have Rios declared mentally retarded, which would have made him ineligible for the death penalty or a life sentence.

He pleaded guilty after a forensic psychologist testified that Rios was not mentally retarded and therefore competent to enter a plea.

Casas-Rios' family members, including her mother, traveled from Mexico to attend the hearing. They said they did not want to see Rios put to death. Marcos Casas, Rios's brother-in-law, told the court that his family had forgiven Rios but was not sure God would.

Rios told Gull he came to the United States to fulfill his dreams, "but I allowed the forces of evil to take over and I'll always regret it." He did not say why he had killed his family.

According to court records, Rios and his wife were arguing over his household duties when he hit her in the head with a steel pipe and wrapped an extension cord around her neck. He then strangled his daughters one by one, placing them all on the same bed and tying shoelaces around their necks before calling police officers to the home.

Kraus said Rios has expressed sorrow for what he had done since calling 911 to report his family's slaying. "I think it is sincere, and I think he's told enough people in enough different ways about his sorrow that I do think it is sincere," she said. Richards told Rios that she hopes he is haunted by the deaths. "You, Simon Rios, will never see your daughters again. God will forgive you, but this community won't," she said.

The killings happened just days after Rios abducted Alejandra Gutierrez as she waited near her school bus stop. He drove her to a gravel pit near Muncie -- about 60 miles south of Fort Wayne -- then sexually assaulted and killed her. He was sentenced to life in prison on Sept. 17.

In February 2002 Rios was found guilty of DUI. He received a suspended 90 day sentence, a one year suspended jail sentence and one year of probation requiring successful completion of a counseling program.

Simon Rios came to the attention of authorities in May 2003. He pled guilty to domestic battery.

Details of the incident as related in the police report:

A police report said officers responded to a battery complaint at 4122 S. Calhoun two days earlier.

Casas-Rios told police she was home with Simon Rios when he was drinking and the two argued.

Rios hit Casas-Rios in the head and abdomen, cornered her behind the front door and began to punch her in the head and abdomen, the report said.

Officers saw hair stuck to the wall where Casas-Rios was beaten, the report said. Liliana, then 8, saw the fight, police said…

Rios received a one year suspended jail sentence, one year of supervised probation and was ordered to have no contact with his wife. Two months later the no contact order was removed after his wife completed classes offered through Victim's Assistance and the Center for Nonviolence according to court records.

Robert Pineda, 36, has been sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for the assault of his seven-month-old daughter, Briseida Pineda, according to Saline County Prosecuting Attorney Donald G. Stouffer.

Pineda is an illegal alien from El Salvador....

Pineda entered a guilty plea to the offense and admitted he became frustrated with the child's crying. In an effort to quiet her, he shook her violently and she passed out for 8 to 10 minutes, and was "pale and floppy" when she regained consciousness.

After Pineda's wife came home from work, Briseida was rushed to the hospital and then transferred to University of Missouri Medical Center.

During the next seven months, she incurred medical expenses in excess of $250,000.

Briseida sustained permanent impairment of 70-75 percent of her brain function, has no voluntary movement in any of her limbs and her vision and hearing are substantially and permanently impaired,...

She is unable to feed or dress herself, or otherwise take care of herself or communicate any physical need and will require continuous care for the balance of her life, said the Saline County Prosecuting Attorney.

Hillsboro shaken baby trial begins

Deputy District Attorney Megan Johnson told a jury of 10 women and two men that Ramon Rodriguez-Moreno, 28, of Hillsboro caused the injuries that resulted in the death of Dulce Samantha Hernandez-Onofre, 20 months.

Rodriguez-Moreno was the boyfriend of the baby's mother, Alejandra Onofre-Nava. Rodriguez was not the girl's father, Johnson said. Doctors who autopsied the baby at Oregon Health Sciences University said the baby's brain was swollen and bleeding, and both retinas were detached.

The depressed fracture on the back of the child's skull could only have come from an "indescribably high-velocity blow to the back of her head," Johnson said. Nobody knows what really happened, except for Rodriguez-Moreno, Johnson said. He told police at first the baby passed out from eating chili.

Then he said he might have set her down hard, then said she accidentally fell in the parking lot.

He never told police about rags he hid behind a couch after he used them to clean up reddish vomit in the kitchen.

Neighbors will testify they saw him leaving in a hurry from the apartment without the baby several times that morning, Johnson said.

Johnson said it seemed strange he took the baby, blue and lifeless, to the mother's work, instead of directly to a hospital. At one point,

Johnson read a transcript of a translated police interview: "I sat her down brutal, brutally you could say. Like crazy. I sat her down fast. I don't know what it is to be a dad," it said.

Defense lawyer Brian Butler said Rodriguez-Moreno loved Dulce, and did what he could to care for her. Butler said what really happened was the baby got into some chiles while Alejandra was at work.

He tried to comfort her and washed out her mouth after she vomited. She hit her head on the worn arm of a couch when Rodriguez-Moreno accidentally put her down too hard.

He took the baby to Virginia-Garcia medical center, but panicked when asked for his Social Security card. He took the baby to her mother's work at the Cornell Road Red Lion, and then they took her to the hospital, Butler said. "He doesn't have the heart of a murderer," Butler said.

Rodriguez testified that he did not know he was injuring the girl, Dulce Samantha Hernandez Onofre. He used a doll to demonstrate how he shook her and pushed her onto a sofa when she wouldn’t stop crying....

‘‘I didn’t know,’’ Rodriguez testified. ‘‘If I had known it would’ve hurt, in a thousand years, I wouldn’t have done it.’’...

Experts said the back of her head was bashed in, as if she had been ejected from a car or fallen from a third- or fourth-story window....

Police arrested 23-year-old Flor Barriento on aggravated assault and child endangerment charges Wednesday night after the boy’s mother brought them the videotape, said Joseph Macellaro, acting chief of detectives for the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

The 41-year-old mother installed the camcorder in the house after noticing “unexplained bruises” on her son, Macellaro said.

When she played back the tape, he said, she saw Barriento hitting the boy with her fists and a broom handle.

The boy was treated at Hackensack University Medical Center before being released Wednesday night.

“He didn’t suffer any serious injuries, but he did have several contusions on his head,” Macellaro said.

The woman had hired Barriento about two months ago after she was recommended by several friends who live in her Cliff Street apartment building. Barriento took care of the boy nearly every day, Macellaro said.

Barriento was being held on $400,000 bail Thursday at the Bergen County Jail.

Authorities contacted the U.S. Department of Homeland Security because Barriento is an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador, Macellaro said.

Jonathan Castillo crossed back into the United States illegally after he was deported last year. Now he is all but certain to die in an Indiana prison.

A judge sentenced the Honduran man to 180 years Wednesday for raping a pregnant woman and molesting a 7-year-old girl he snatched from her bed.

Castillo, 28, pleaded guilty in Marion Superior Court to all charges in both cases. He asked for forgiveness and said he did not want to put his victims through the pain of a trial.

After testimony from the 22-year-old rape victim and the young girl's father, Deputy Prosecutor Anne Harrigan called Castillo a monster who didn't deserve to see the light of day.

Judge Patricia Gifford said the planning of the assaults and other factors outweighed Castillo's remorse.

Both incidents happened this year in an apartment complex on the Far Southside of Indianapolis where Castillo had lived since last fall.

In January, the woman -- who was five months pregnant -- awoke to a masked Castillo assaulting her while her 2-year-old son was in the room.

Four months later, Castillo again put on a mask. He slipped into another apartment from the balcony, took the girl from her bed and molested her in his apartment.

Police arrested Castillo, and he confessed in court to the molestation. Police later connected him to the rape.

"We can't forgive him," the 7-year-old girl's father told the judge, speaking through a Spanish interpreter. His daughter spent two hours in surgery and three days in the hospital to repair her injuries. She is seeing a therapist.

"If God can forgive him, then that is OK. But he should not be in this world harming children."

The Indianapolis Star generally does not identify victims of sexual assault and is not naming the man to protect his daughter's identity.

Prosecutors dismissed a third case accusing Castillo of domestic battery against his former girlfriend, who also testified during Wednesday's hearing.

Four had been illegally living in the United States, four are permanent residents and one is in the U.S. on a temporary visa, ICE officials wrote in a statement.

Convictions for the four permanent residents would mean deportation.
ICE agents arrested the nine in Rockford, Forreston, Sterling and Waukegan. All are registered sex offenders with past convictions for sex crimes that make them deportable.

Among those arrested were:
Benito Rodriguez, 31, a Mexican national living in Rockford. On Feb. 28, Rodriguez was convicted in Winnebago County of sexually exploiting a 14-year-old and was sentenced to 60 days in prison. He also has a 1999 conviction for domestic battery.

Rafael Hernandez-Varela, 36, a Mexican national living in Rockford. On Jan. 16, 2006, Hernandez-Varela was convicted in Winnebago County or aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor.

Roberto Reyes-Cervantes, 37, a Mexican national living in Waukegan. On Aug. 9, Reyes-Cervantes was convicted in Lake County of attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 16-year-old victim.

Antonio Rabadan-Estafania, 25, a Mexican national living in Wheeling. On June 14, he was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 14-year-old and was sentenced to 30 months of probation.

ICE spokeswoman Gail Montenegro would only release the names of the arrestees living in the United States illegally. She said all nine arrestees will go before an immigration judge, who can opt to deport them.

SAN BERNARDINO - A tattoo-covered Luis Chavira was sent to prison Thursday after pleading guilty for his role in a high-speed car-to-car shooting on Interstate 15 last year that killed a 12-year-old Hesperia boy.

Chavira, 23, was making a routine courtroom appearance when he accepted a plea agreement and opted to be sent to prison immediately. He pleaded guilty to one count of voluntary manslaughter and shooting at an occupied vehicle. He also admitted to using a weapon.

He was sentenced to nearly 14 years in prison and fined $2,000.

Chavira is one of three suspects charged in the Dec. 11 shooting of Gabriel Garcia, described by authorities as an innocent boy caught up in the botched handoff of illegal immigrants in the Cajon Pass.

Defense attorney Stuart Holmes told San Bernardino County Superior Court Judge David Cohn that his client took the plea because he did not want to risk life in prison.

Like the other two suspects--Pedro Escobedo, 44, and Saul Juarez, 20--Chavira was facing a murder charge, which coupled with a conviction, could have sent him to prison for life.

Chavira made his plea moments after his co-defendants were ushered out of the courtroom. They return to court Nov. 16 for a pretrial hearing.

Deputy District Attorney Joanne Uhlman said the plea bargain did not say that Chavira had to testify for the prosecution.

Outside the courtroom, Chavira's mother, Sandra Contreas, struggled to refer to the fatal shooting of the boy. "I understand my son is not the one who did 'the thing,' " she said. "But he was there."

Contreas, 43, said her son has two children, a 5-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl. She said their mother, with help of family, would raise the children while their father is in prison.

"I'm saddened my son got so much time," Contreas said. "We have to trust our attorney."

In December, Gabriel Garcia was a passenger in a Nissan Maxima being chased by a Ford Explorer south on Interstate 15 through heavy traffic, court records said. Two illegal immigrants from Mexico were in the back seat, records said.

Gunmen from the pursuing Ford Explorer fired at least 13 bullets at the fleeing Maxima before it exited near Norco and spun out at a shopping center, reports said.

The two illegal immigrants in the back seat climbed into the Explorer before it fled, report said.

The wounded driver of the Maxima, identified as illegal immigrant Gregorio Zuniga Hernandez, ran into a nearby department store where he bought a shirt and dressed in front of a cashier, reports said.

Hernandez later spoke with San Bernardino County sheriff's officials and said that he ended up driving the Maxima after a confrontation between illegal immigrant smugglers at a McDonald's in the Cajon Pass.

Gabriel, struck in the head by one of the shots, was left in the bullet-ridden Maxima. He was removed from life support about one week after the shooting.

Coy was convicted back in 2002 of molestation and sentenced to 45 years behind bars On his new CD it appears he may have composed some of the songs while behind bars. So now the question is -- is he using his prison sentence to cash in?...

South Ogden police have arrested a man they allege tried to solicit sex from a 13-year-old girl by sending explicit text messages to her cell phone.
Police said the girl was sending a text message to a friend on Oct. 9, when she accidentally misdialed the number.
"That's how the conversation started and he continued to text her and asked her questions," South Ogden police officer Marci Edwards said Saturday night.
The two engaged in a text message conversation that police said became increasingly graphic. The girl was receiving so many messages, her mother took notice.
"Her daughter's cell phone was just going off like crazy, and it was unusual for her daughter to receive so many text messages," Edwards said.
Police said the mother flipped the girl's phone open to read some of the messages, shocked by what she was reading. Edwards said the mother texted a few messages back, posing as her daughter, but the conversation soon became too much for her to handle.
"The girl said he'd been texting her all day," she said. "The things he was saying were 'gross,' in her words. ... It was very clear that his intentions were he wanted to have sex with her and it was made known to him that she was 13."
The mother took the phone to South Ogden police, who had a detective pose as the 13-year-old girl. Over the next three days, the two traded text messages back and forth.

"This individual sent numerous texts daily in a grooming type way, to groom this child into actually having sex with him," Edwards said. "He kept wanting her to meet him, asking her what she wants. We set up a meeting where he was apprehended."
Jose Galvan-Alcala, 29, was booked into the Weber County Jail on investigation of solicitation of a child, a second-degree felony. Bail has been set at $10,000. Police said the 13-year-old girl, whose misdial launched the investigation, was unaware that her cell phone was being used for a high-tech sex sting.
Her mother had never read any of her text messages before, but Edwards said: "She does now."
South Ogden police said all parents should be aware of who their child text messages on cell phones.
"They are children, and they can be manipulated easily," Edwards said. "It was just a text message to (the girl). What was important is that the mother was checking."

That 1997 conviction involved Castro-Salcedo sexually assaulting on two occasions a three year old boy whom his mother was babysitting.

The verdict, which came after three hours of deliberation, will put 25-year-old Silas Quixal in prison for at least 20 years and clears the way for a civil case to proceed against the Route 17 store.

The girl's parents allege in a lawsuit that the store put shoppers in danger by hiring Quixal, who is an undocumented immigrant.

Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Liliana Silebi told jurors during the trial in Superior Court in Hackensack that Quixal lured the girl into a rear storage room while her mother was looking around in the store, holding her other daughter.

"This was a very brazen attempt to sexually assault a little girl in the middle of the day, in a business establishment," Silebi said.

Quixal later confessed to police, and investigators retrieved DNA evidence from the girl's clothing that matched samples taken from Quixal, Silebi said...

"Metropolitan Plant Exchange is equally responsible," said Todd Siegel, the family's attorney in the civil case. "They chose to hire an illegal alien with no background and put a little girl in danger."

Paul Faugno, a lawyer for Metropolitan Plant Exchange, said Quixal worked at the store for six years without a problem. The store can be held liable only if it knew Quixal was likely to commit a crime, Faugno said.

"The fact that he is an alien is a red herring that has nothing to do with the case," Faugno said.

Border Patrol agents arrest 3 for sexually related crimes

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP (http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/border_security/)) Agents arrested three subjects this week, in separate incidents, with criminal records for or wanted for sexual related crimes.

On Thursday, Border Patrol Agents assigned to the El Paso Sector apprehended Erik Monrroy-Alvarez, a 24-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador. Agents first noticed Monrroy as he pulled up to the primary position at the Las Cruces Border Patrol Traffic Checkpoint on Interstate 10.

Monrroy's nervous behavior during initial questioning, led the agents to believe that he was hiding something, so he was directed to secondary inspection for further investigation.

At the secondary inspection point, Monrroy admitted to being in the U.S. illegally, and agents immediately arrested him. According to officials, computerized check produced a criminal record on the subject, which advised that Monrroy had an active felony warrant from Ottumwa, Iowa for the "Sexual Assault of a Minor."

Agents confirmed the validity of the warrant and Monrroy was taken into custody by the New Mexico State Police pending extradition to Iowa.

On Monday, Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Naco, Ariz., Border Patrol Station encountered Roberto Santos-Escobar, a 23-year-old illegal alien from Mexico. Santos was arrested after he illegally entered the U.S. near Naco, Ariz.

At the Naco Border Patrol Station, the IAFIS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_Automated_Fingerprint_Identification_System) System revealed that Santos had been convicted of "Forcible Sex Abuse - Felony" and "Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor" in Summit County, Utah. Santos was subsequently processed for removal proceedings.

In another arrest Monday, Border Patrol Agents assigned to the El Centro, Calif., Station encountered Jose Sanchez-Larios, a 29-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, near Calexico, Calif.

After crossing the border illegally, agents arrested and then transported Sanchez back to the El Centro Border Patrol Station for processing and records checks.

At the station, the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) produced a criminal record pertaining to Sanchez, which advised that Sanchez had been convicted of "Sex with a Minor" in 2002.

IAFIS also indicated that Sanchez had an outstanding "No Bail Warrant" for his arrest from the California Department of Corrections. Officials from California were contacted, and Sanchez was turned over to them.

This is not the first time the Border Patrol has apprehended subjects with criminal records. In Fiscal Year 2007 the IAFIS system identified over 450 hits for "Sexual Assault" based on the arrests that the Border Patrol has made. This comes from a total of over 140,000 hits for crimes in that time period.

CORNELIUS, Ore. -- A man police think has smuggled illegal immigrants into Oregon was wanted for raping a 15-year-old girl, police said Tuesday.

Washington County deputies said Jose Fransisco-Fransisco was wanted for rape and sex abuse after attacking a 15-year-old girl at a farm labor camp in Cornelius in June.

The victim said Francisco told her he would kill her.

Deputies also said Francisco admitted the crime during several phone calls while in jail on another charge.

He’s been known to smuggle people into Oregon from Guatemala, according to police.

Child molester sentenced to 20 years in prison

A Peruvian citizen was sentenced to 20 years in prison Tuesday afternoon for molesting a 4-year-old girl in Hailey almost a year ago.

Ovidio Ricaldi-Villajuan, a 24-year-old Hailey resident, must serve three years in prison before he's eligible for parole. Once released, the defendant, who court records allege is an illegal immigrant, faces deportation to Peru.

Ricaldi-Villajuan pleaded guilty last April to a felony charge of lewd conduct with a minor child under 16, a crime punishable in Idaho by up to life in prison.

(AP) An appeals court has thrown out the death sentence of a Texas inmate convicted of killing a 3-year-old girl, ruling that jurors failed to adequately consider the man's abusive childhood and drug history before deciding he should die.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday ordered that Fernando Garcia, 46, be resentenced because of improper jury instructions. Prosecutors are deciding whether to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Garcia was convicted for the 1987 rape, beating and strangulation of Veronica Rodriguez in Dallas. He was sentenced to death in 1989....

Garcia is one of dozens of Texas death row inmates who have similar problems with this type of jury instruction.

This year, at least four Texas death row inmates had their sentences overturned because of flawed jury instructions related to mitigating evidence.

These jury instructions haven't been used in Texas since 1991, when in 1991, state law was changed so that jurors now have to decide if mitigating evidence they heard convinced them a life sentence would be more appropriate.

A 41-year-old man accused of having sexual contact with an 8-year-old boy pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Monday and was scheduled for a jury trial, according to online court records.

Jose Carman Gonzalez-Ricardo, an illegal immigrant for whom no permanent address is listed, faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted of first-degree sexual assault.

Gonzalez-Ricardo allegedly assaulted the boy in the early morning hours Sept. 1 at a south-side home, according to a criminal complaint.

He is scheduled for a Nov. 27 jury trial, with a plea hearing six days prior.

According to police and the complaint: Gonzalez-Ricardo came into the boy's bedroom and touched him inappropriately, also having the boy touch him.

Gonzalez-Ricardo did not pursue further contact after the boy told him to stop.

The complaint describes Gonzalez-Ricardo as a friend of the victim's family, and police said he had been living in Sheboygan about six months.

A man who authorities say burned his fingerprints in an attempt to conceal his identity was detained as he tried to enter the United States illegally.

Border Patrol agents from the Tucson sector arrested 25-year-old Mateo Cruz-Cruz on the evening of October 10 after he attempted to sneak into the U.S. by jumping a fence east of the Douglas, Arizona port of entry.

Agents discovered he had been previously convicted for sexual assault of a minor in Iowa in 2004.

After further investigation, agents discovered Cruz had also been deported from the U.S. in March of 2004.

The news release indicates that Cruz will be prosecuted for illegal entry due to his status as an aggravated felon and based on his criminal immigration record.

Man pleads guilty in death of toddler son in North Side

An illegal immigrant pleaded guilty Monday to third-degree murder in the death of his 21-month-old son in the family's home in the North Side.

Angel Molina, 20, of Marshall-Shadeland hit his son several times in the abdomen after he became angry with him. Ulices Molina died of internal injuries on April 1, 2006. Angel Molina also pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of children.

Allegheny County Assistant District Attorney Chris Hoffman said the boy bled to death internally over five days from the injuries. Molina contended he hit the boy the day before he was found dead.

Molina lived with the boy's mother, Loni Haier, 24, but neither called for medical help that could have saved the toddler, Hoffman said. Haier faces a nonjury trial March 3 on a charge of endangering the welfare of children.

Police arrested Eladio Reza-Reza, 30, on Oct. 12 on charges of child molestation, sexual misconduct with a minor and burglary.

Reza is accused of entering a south Phoenix apartment at 2:30 a.m. through an unlocked door and sexually assaulting a sleeping 6-year-old girl.

The girl’s 11-year-old brother was sleeping in the living room with her and woke to find Reza raping his sister,...

Paul Banton befriended the girl’s family and wormed his way into her affections.

But when the girl’s mother was out, 35-year-old Banton invited himself to her house and raped her.
The screaming girl begged him to stop and ran out of the house in tears after the attack.

He then sent indecent pictures to the girl’s mobile and waited for her mother to leave the home before inviting himself in again.
The next time he indecently assaulted her on the staircase.

When the girl plucked up the courage to tell her mother four years later, the family confronted Jamaican-born Banton, of Belmont Park, Lewisham, who denied the accusations.
After being arrested, he said: “She’s lying. She’s trying to get attention.”

Before appearing in court, the girl said: “I did not want to upset my mother.
“I didn’t think she would believe me because she had let a man into the house who she thought she could trust.”

Banton, who came to the UK in 2000 and overstayed his student visa, denied rape and indecent assault between January 1 and December 31, 2002.
But Banton was convicted by a jury at Blackfriars Crown Court.

Sentencing him on October 12, Judge Henry Blacksell said: “You sought out this vulnerable girl and waited until she was on her own.

“You abused her in the most dreadful and depraved way by taking advantage of a 12-year-old."

“She told you to get off and ran out of the house when you had finished and had your way with her."

“You showed a cold disregard to a vulnerable young girl."

“By calling her a liar you made her life even more difficult and you got away with this for some time.”

Banton will be deported when he has served his sentence.

A Sheboygan man accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year old boy will go to trial. 41-year old Jose Gonzalez-Ricardo, an illegal immigrant, plead not guilty in Sheboygan County Court Monday to one count of 1st degree sexual assault of a child.

According to the criminal complaint, family members of the boy contacted police after learning about the alleged contact.

Gonzalez-Ricardo, who had been living with the family for about 2-months, later admitted to officers to the abuse.

Fairfax County police have charged a 23-year-old Centreville man with sexually assaulting four children at the Centreville Regional Library. He is Mynor Andres Gonzalez Estrada of 6338 Field Flower Trail in The Meadows community.

IN ONE incident, July 31, around 8:50 p.m., a 10-year-old Centreville girl told police she was looking at books when a man grabbed and squeezed her buttocks. Police say the child walked away to another book aisle and saw the same man with his shorts pulled down and his shirt lifted, exposing himself….

HE (Estrada) WAS CHARGED with three counts of aggravated sexual battery — "aggravated" meaning that the alleged victims were under 13 — and one count of obstruction of justice….

Police in Syracuse are looking for a man accused of walking into an 11-year-old girl's bedroom and raping her.

The attack happened at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday, police said. The girl was asleep in her bed.

"A family member interrupted the incident and made mention that she was going to call the cops, and (he) split," Syracuse Police Lt. Tracy Jensen said Monday.

A warrant has been issued for 22-year-old Benito Martinez for investigation of rape of a child, a first-degree felony.

Police said Martinez, who is an illegal immigrant, had been renting a room in the home for about six months.

Carlos Salustio, a Mexican immigrant who was living illegally in Warminster (PA), pleaded guilty in April to rape of a child and related charges for as many as 25 sexual incidents with the girl over a two-year period, starting when the girl was 10.

The victim has been in custody of the county’s Children and Youth agency and separated from her mother since the arrest.

Her mother has denied that Salustio ever raped her daughter. The mother and daughter sat on opposite sides of the courtroom Friday.

The victim said she was scared to report Salustio’s abuse, but felt she had to since she did not want him to sexually assault another girl....

The Judge sentenced Salustio to no fewer than five years and no more than 20 in state prison, and ordered him to pay court costs, attend sexual offender treatment throughout his time in jail and have no contact with the victim.

The Court ruled Salustio was a “sexually violent predator,” and said Salustio would also be deported once he is released from prison.

Englewood man charged with rape

ENGLEWOOD (NJ)-- An illegal immigrant has been charged with raping a woman on the living room couch of the apartment he shared with his mother, girlfriend and their son.

The 23-year-old woman had accompanied Harold Mendoza and his girlfriend on Friday night to an upscale Englewood bar.

After a few drinks, the three went back to the couple's Humphrey Street apartment around midnight.

An hour later, Mendoza left the bedroom he shared with his girlfriend to forcibly have sex with his sleeping guest.

When his girlfriend tried to intervene, he hit her in the face.

The two women reported the incident to Englewood police, and were treated at Englewood Hospital and released.

Mendoza, 24, was arrested Saturday on charges of domestic violence, sexual assault and simple assault. He is being held in the Bergen County Jail on $109,000 bail.

The Department of Homeland Security was also notified because of Mendoza's residency status.

Chandler police will not alter their description of the Chandler Rapist despite complaints from a Valley radio station about the department’s use of the word “Hispanic” to describe the attacker.

William Roberto Santos worked as a laborer at a horse farm in Owensboro, Ky. Nobody seemed to know much about his past, but his behavior and personality quickly made him a trusted member of the community.

He attended church regularly, and parents felt safe leaving their young children in his care. One child in particular, who spent time at the same horse farm where Santos worked, spent four or five nights at a time at Santos' apartment.

Nobody had any reason to suspect anything sinister was going on until the 11-year-old boy confessed to his mother that something bad had happened, and that it had happened many times.

An Abuse Of Trust

By the time the 11-year-old told his mother what had happened and the police were contacted, Santos was already gone. Through interviews with the victim and his mother, the police were able to establish that Santos had sodomized the boy multiple times over the course of two weeks.

Santos was also implicated by his gay lover, who went to the police and told them that Santos had confided to him what he had done to the little boy. Unfortunately, Santos did not tell his lover where he planned on going when he disappeared from Kentucky.

When the police went to Santos' apartment, they found he had left in a hurry, leaving most of his belongings behind. But nothing was able to point them towards where Santos was now....

A 13-year-old boy was sexually assaulted near a Poway middle school Monday after a homeless man lured him with alcohol to a hillside encampment, sheriff’s officials said yesterday.

Jesus Mora Nava, 30, was arrested hours later after a short pursuit by deputies and booked into jail on suspicion of several child molestation charges.

Nava is being held without bail. He also is being detained on federal immigration violations.

The boy told sheriff's investigators that he was west of Meadowbrook Middle School when Nava approached him Monday afternoon.

Nava promised the boy alcohol and led him to a nearby hillside, where it appeared Nava had been camping out, sheriff's Capt. Glenn Revell said.

Investigators said Nava gave the boy a drink before sexually assaulting him....

Nava was arrested after a short chase. Nava also has been arrested for public intoxication.

Of the 1,500 cases examined, illegal immigrant offenders were located in 36 states with the highest number of sexual offenders in California, Texas, Arizona, New Jersey, New York, and Florida....

Of the 1,500 sex offenders examined in this study, each sex offender averaged four victims for a total of approximately 6,000 victims over the 88-month period. Using these statistics, The authors estimated that there were 960,000 sex crimes committed by illegal immigrants between January, 1999 and April, 2006.

Particularly disturbing was that 22% of the victims of sex crimes committed by illegal immigrants had physical or mental handicaps, and all disabled victims were under the age of 18....

Of the 1,500 cases examined, 35% were child molestations, 24% were rapes, and 41% were sexual homicides and serial murders; 617 cases. Of the child molestations, 47% of the victims were Hispanic and 36% were Caucasian.

In 82% of the cases, the victims were known to their attackers, and 18% were molested by strangers. Of those victims molested by strangers, The author reports that "the illegal immigrants typically gained access to the victims after having worked as a day laborer at or near the victims' homes.

Victims ranged in age from one-year-old to 13-years-old, with the average age being six." Although nearly 30% of the victims of sex crimes by illegal immigrants were illegal immigrants themselves, 70% of the victims were Americans....

While his trial was under way this morning, a suspected child rapist smashed a courtroom computer as a prosecutor, just a few feet away, asked a jury to find him guilty.

Antonio Rosales, 41, an undocumented worker from Guatemala, also knocked over the defense table before he was tackled by Seminole County deputies, pinned to the ground, then hauled out of the courtroom.

No one was hurt.

Rosales, who is indigent and has been in jail since his arrest in 2003, was barefoot and in ankle chains at the time.

The outburst came as Assistant State Attorney Anna Valentini was giving her closing argument. Rosales, she said, intended to sexually abuse the 10-year-old victim. He choked her so long and so hard, she lost consciousness, Valentini said.

While she was talking, Rosales, in Spanish, said he didn't do it, stood, picked up a computer keyboard from the defense table in front of him and smashed it against the computer's monitor.

He was immediately subdued by two deputies in the courtroom.

The 10-year-old girl was on her way to the store. It was dusk, and she was on an errand -- to buy macaroni for dinner.

She had borrowed her brother's scooter, the old-fashioned kind, and was gliding down the sidewalk. She had decided against taking a shortcut through the woods.

"It was starting to get dark," she told jurors Tuesday.

A man stepped out of the woods, a stranger. He said "Hola," hello in Spanish, then put his arm around her shoulders and began pulling her into the woods. She resisted, she said, and he grabbed her by the ponytail and dragged her backward into the dark.

That, according to prosecutors, is how the attack began, and the attacker, they say, was Antonio Rosales, 41, a fugitive suspected in a murder in Arizona. Rosales is on trial this week, charged with kidnapping the 10-year-old, raping her and trying to murder her.

The girl, now 15, was the trial's first witness.

She tried to fight him off, she told jurors, but he leaned over and wrapped his hands around her throat.

"I remember kicking him . . . trying to get air for a few seconds," she said. "I don't remember much after that."

She blacked out.

When she came to, she was alone, she said. Her shirt had been pulled up, her pants were around her ankles, and she was covered with hundreds of fire-ant bites.

The girl told her story in a soft voice but without emotion. She also told it without identifying her attacker. No one asked her if the man who hurt her was in the courtroom even though Rosales sat just 40 feet away, a Spanish-language translator whispering in his ear.

The girl described her attacker in general terms, as a Hispanic man of average build and with dark hair.

The attack happened Nov. 1, 2003, in Casselberry. At the time, Rosales, an undocumented worker in construction from Guatemala, was homeless, according to authorities.

Two years earlier, he had disappeared from Tucson, Ariz., where he was accused of raping and strangling his 74-year-old landlady, whose body was found Aug. 9, 2001, in the home they shared. He is named in a warrant but has not been charged.

Tucson police Sgt. Fabian Pacheco said the 74-year-old also had been sexually assaulted and choked. Rosales confessed to both crimes, Pacheco said. Once Rosales' Florida trial is over, he will be extradited to Arizona, Pacheco said Tuesday.

That could be soon. The Sanford jury is expected to begin deliberations today.

The seven-member panel Tuesday heard an English translation of what Rosales told detectives he did with the 10--year-old. He had been drinking, he said, and pulled the girl into the woods. She fought and yelled, he said. He pulled down her clothing and touched her.

He let her go, he said, because she was so young and because she was screaming.

A state DNA expert testified that he found Rosales' DNA on the girl's breast. The analyst, Tim Petree with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, said none of the samples he processed included semen.

A nurse practitioner who performed a rape exam on the girl testified that she found evidence consistent with a sexual assault.

If convicted, Rosales faces a sentence of life in prison.

A 15-year-old boy charged with raping and strangling a teenage girl in a St. George park will be arraigned as an adult in 5th District Court later this month.

Carlos Hernandez will appear Dec. 18 on charges of murder, rape and aggravated sexual assault, all first-degree felonies,...

Hernandez allegedly strangled and raped Keely Amber Hall, 15, early Jan. 10 in Dixie Downs Park. Hall was found in Dixie Downs Park near playground equipment after police received an anonymous phone call.

Detectives said the boy told investigators he and friends spent the day before the early-morning killing at a house in St. George, drinking and smoking marijuana. They later went to Dixie Downs before the group broke up and left.

Hernandez, Johnson said, acknowledged calling Hall later and arranging to meet her in the park that same night.

A Detective testified the boy told him that, at one point, Hall got up to leave and he grabbed her by the leg and she fell, calling him a "bastard."

The boy became angry, he told investigators, and put Hall in a headlock with his hand over her mouth. Johnson said the defendant told investigators he then pulled down her pants to have sex with her.

Antonio Rosales is accused of raping a 10-year-old girl. Before court could even begin Thursday, a judge had to decide if Rosales was competent to stand trial after a violent outburst Wednesday.

After a brief hearing Thursday, Rosales told a judge he wanted to be left out of the courtroom because he said he might lash out again. Initially, a team of deputies brought 41-year-old Antonio Rosales into the courtroom wearing a bizarre mesh head-covering and a mask. Authorities said they put it on him after he threatened to spit at people.

The illegal immigrant from Guatemala is on trial for the attempted murder and sexual battery of a 10-year-old girl in Casselberry in 2003. A court appointed doctor said Rosales was insulted by the allegation he's a child molester....

"This is someone who told me that was he is insulted," court-appointed doctor Jeffrey Danziger said.

Despite the outburst, the judge found Rosales competent to continue his trial. During that hearing, extra deputies surrounded Rosales, who promised to behave....

Late Thursday afternoon, the jury returned a guilty verdict against Rosales on charges of kidnapping, attempted murder and sexual battery after deliberating for around two hours. Rosales faces a mandatory life sentence, but has to stand trial for murder in Arizona.

HIALEAH (CBS4) ― A Hialeah man has been denied bond for a horrific and heinous crime against two elderly women, ages 99- and 81-years old. Jose Corrales, 33, appeared in bond court Friday, charged with two counts of sexual battery, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of occupied burglary with battery.

According to detectives, the first incident occurred in Hialeah on June 22nd, when Corrales, an illegal alien working as a roofer, spotted the 99-year old woman while she was taking out her trash. Police say he had a brief conversation with her then followed her back to the front door and forced his way in.

The frail 99-year old woman attempted to fight back but was simply overpowered. Police say he pushed her to the ground with such force, that her dentures flew across the room.

She pleaded for her life as she was slapped and punched in the stomach, face, legs, arms and back, according to the police report. Eventually, she was grabbed by the neck and dragged into her bedroom where, police say, Corrales forced her to perform oral sex.

The second incident also occurred in Hialeah, but took place two months later on August 24th.

The victim in this case was an 81-year old handicapped woman with limited mobility. She was sitting inside her home when Corrales stood at her doorway, commented how hot it was outside and removed his shirt.

Speaking in Spanish, the 81-year-old woman told CBS4 Reporter Jorge Estevez how she did not lock her door in time, and he made his way inside and forced her to perform oral sex.

Corrales was captured after DNA taken at both scenes matched. When questioned by police, Corrales admitted his involvement in both crimes.

Armando Orozco was sentenced to life in prison Friday for first degree kidnapping. In July, he was convicted of abducting a 7-year-old girl from a Sioux City park, and then raping her in an apartment across the street.

Orozco must also pay restitution to the family; the amount is yet to be determined. He is not allowed to contact the victim for a period of 5 years or his time spent in prison plus one year -- whichever is longer.

Orozco's defense attorney filed motions for judgment of acquittal and for a new trial, but both were denied.

Orozco said he will appeal the conviction.

Agents with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Victor Gonzales-Ferreira, 23, on Tuesday when he was released from the Sussex Correctional Institution and placed him into removal proceedings.

Gonzales-Ferreira, a citizen of Mexico, was in the country illegally.

He entered the United States at or near Nogales, Ariz., at about May 1, 2005 without inspection and admission by an immigration officer, said ICE spokesman Mike Gilhooly.

He was arrested by state police on July 30 on seven counts of rape, sexual intercourse with a juvenile -- a fourth-degree felony.

Gonzales-Ferreira was convicted Sept. 4 of rape in Kent County Superior Court.

Under federal law, Gonzales-Ferreira is considered an aggravated felon because the crime he was convicted of involves the rape and sexual abuse of a minor, Gilhooly said.

“Identifying and removing criminal aliens is one of the keys to protecting national security and promoting public safety in Delaware and throughout the country,” said Thomas Decker, field office direction for the agency’s Office of Detention and Removal in Philadelphia.

“Over the last few years, we have intensified our efforts and made great progress in identifying aliens being held in U.S. correctional facilities to ensure they are not released back into our communities,” Decker said.

Gonzales-Ferreira was issued a Final Administrative Removal Order on Tuesday and will be detained at the York County Prison in York, Pa., pending his deportation to Mexico.

So far this year, the Philadelphia field office, which includes Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, has deported 4,538 illegal aliens, 2,210 of whom were convicted criminals.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say three hispanic men are being sought in connection with the reported rape of a woman Friday night.

The 22-year-old victim says she was walking down East Boulevard around 10:30 P.M. when she was forced into the bed of a dark green pickup truck.

She says she was taken to an open area off South Boulevard and attacked by three men.

She was later treated at the hospital for serious injuries.

Police still are searching for the attacker of a woman who said she was raped in an alley near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Pine Street late last month.

Police spokesman Mark Jamieson said a detective from the sexual assault unit was investigating the incident, which the woman said occurred about 2:45 p.m. Aug. 31.

She told police a man grabbed her chest in the alley and pushed her against a wall, according to a police report released Monday. He demanded her money and when the woman said she didn't have any, the man exposed a dark handgun in his waistband.

Fearing for her safety, the woman handed the suspect her wallet that had various health care cards. The man then sexually assaulted her, according to the report

In an attempt to stop the man, she offered him her bottle of prescription of Zanac, a medication that obstructs stomach acid production.

The woman took a Metro bus to her Lake City home after not being able to reach her family by cell phone. Her mother called police to report the rape. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center and her clothes were individually packaged as evidence.

The alleged attacker was described as a Hispanic man in his early 30s, 5-foot-11 with an average build and a 2-inch scar from his right eye to his upper right cheek bone.

He was reportedly wearing an orange shirt, gray zipper sweatshirt, blue jeans a gold chain and white New Balance shoes. The woman said he had short dark hair with a design shaved in the back.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A registered sex offender is accused of molesting a family member who stayed with him last summer.

Sacramento County detectives arrested Lorenzo Jimenez Sr. on Thursday.

According to the sheriff's department, the alleged victim told her mother in April that Jimenez, 57, had molested her.

After a lengthy investigation, Jimenez was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, suspected of felony charges of sexual acts with a child 10 years old or younger and engaging in three or more acts of substantial sexual conduct with a child under age 14.

He is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on June 15.

A man who strangled his mother and then dismembered her body when he was 18 years old has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The murder by Moises Meraz-Espinoza was described as one of the 'most disgusting, hideous and vulgar' cases the judge had ever seen.

A trail of blood and an electrical circular saw, with bone, blood and flesh stuck to the blade, were found in Meraz-Espinoza's California apartment after he confessed to the killing in February 2011.

Prosecutors said that Amelia Espinoza had been skinned, filleted and dismembered as part of a satanic ritual, according to KTLA 5.

The 42-year-old woman's dismembered body was found in a freezer in the Maywood apartment. Her skull, with the eyes and teeth removed and two upside down crosses carved into it, was discovered in a backpack, but her organs were never found.

According to CBS Los Angeles, he used box cutters to skin his mother before freezing her, and got a tattoo of an upside down cross when first in jail.

Prosecutor Heba Matta said Meraz-Espinoza had been motivated by satanic beliefs, which he was 'heavily entrenched in', according to the Los Angeles Times.

Mr Matta said Meraz-Espinoza has several tattoos with satanic imagery, including upside-down crosses and a 666 behind his right ear.
