A man who served nearly 20 years in prison for killing his wife was charged Wednesday with strangling an 68-year-old woman who befriended him while he was behind bars.

James Tolbert, 41, was a frequent visitor at Elizabeth Ann Poulson's suburban home after his release from prison in 2006, family members said.

Police said she was found strangled at home with a belt around her neck Oct. 9...

DNA samples taken from Poulson's house and car matched samples from Tolbert on file with the state crime lab, authorities said....

Friends said Poulson befriended him when she and her husband volunteered at the state prison in Draper in the 1990s. Her husband lives in a care center.

Police and parole officers have been unable to find Tolbert but believe he may have fled to California or Nevada, where he has relatives.

SALT LAKE CITY - The convicted murderer wanted for strangling a Murray woman in her own home was captured in downtown Salt Lake City.

James William Tolbert, 41, was arrested by police in Memory Grove -- a park just east of the state capitol building. Authorities say he was watching a portable television and smoking a cigarette inside of a shed. Apparently, a homeless man who lives in the park recognized him and contacted police.

Tolbert served 18 years in the state prison for strangling his wife in 1987. During his time as an inmate, he befriended Elizabeth Anne Poulson -- a woman who was doing church work at the prison to help prisoners re-establish themselves.

After Tolbert was released in April 2006, he continued to keep in contact with Poulson -- at times, even asking for money and requesting to move into her home....

She was probably a Mormon, walking the Mormon way trying to save all the poor negro's in prison.

I'm sure her service was lovely, I'll bet the Stake President gave a touching tribute to her many years of service in the Relief Society, but most important of all he probably mentioned how important it is to forgive and how Sister Poulson would have wanted it that way.

Then they probably all ate some cookies and drank kool aid while reminiscing about how before the murder, James William Tolbert such a lovely 'man'.

I know that's how Mormons are conditioned to think now, anyways.

I bet she regretted following her church's teachings in the last minutes of her life. And now her husband will suffer because she won't be able to go visit him anymore. There have been several nuns that were murdered by blacks that they befriended in homeless shelters, they won't learn so they have to pay the price.

I think she was one of hundreds, if not thousands, of white women who learn the hard way each year that niggers mistake any little kindness for weakness or even sexual attraction. He probably wanted more than kind words and Chirstian love. He moved on her and then went into animal attack mode when she became defensive. Or she may have lent him a 5 here, and a 10 there, and finally said "no more", provoking the attack.

"Smoking and watching baseball" heheh no booze? It's damned expensive there. State gov runs the liquor stores.

One neat thing about Utah is it's almost nigger-free. Even in Salt Lake metro area, you rarely seen one. That was 7 yrs ago anyway. I only worked with one nigger the entire year I lived there. He was polite and friendly to everybody. Never caused a problem.

It's hard for a nig to really be himself in an area where he's so noticeable. So they behave... usually. And when they don't, they're easy to find. The homeless guy who ID'd him probably saw sketch or photo on tv, and said to himself "hmmm that's not Jay, or Tyrone... oh yeah, it's the new one!"

There's that exponential curve on integration and crime/inefficiency. I'm not a mathematician and don't know the right terms for describing it but here's my attempt: a 20% nigger metro does not have 5X the problem that a 4% nigger metro has. They get to be a large enough group where they can hide each other and confuse humans by sheer numbers. Then the crime really starts getting bad. At 30, 40, 50% then nigger crime becomes the norm and people just crawl into their houses and hide. Humans start moving away at any expense. Then it gets detroited and 70 80 90% nigger.

My totally non-scientific observations and impressions from being there: The Lutherans and other non-mormon churches are trying to take revenge on salt lake for being so clean and low in crime... they are importing african niggers as fast as they can. Even the mormon church itself is importing samoans and whatnot, for god knows why. It's like these different white christian groups are competing, trying to see who can fuck it up fastest. Racing against each other while the jew plays the tune, and judges the whole thing.
