I had never heard of William Dudley Pelley before I accidentally picked up this old book he wrote, Nations in Law. I Googled his name and found out that he organized a group of toughs, known as the Silvershirts or Silver Rangers, during the 1930s. He apparently was a friend of Charles Lindbergh and Henry Ford.

The book is written in such a way that I have trouble keeping my eyes on one page. Pelley's liberal use of capitalization and habit of italicizing certain key points can be distracting--there's always an interesting looking sentence or paragraph beckoning to me from the next page.

Having only leafed through it casually, it seems to me that he put a lot of emphasis on spirituality, especially toward the end of the book. He mentioned Atlantis and reincarnation and Jesus Christ among other spiritual-sounding stuff that seems superfluous to me. But he also named the jew.

The copy I have is from 1956 but the first edition was began in 1929. I believe he was imprisoned for sedition during WWII and revised the book after his release.

Anyone know anything more about this guy?

here is a good bookseller of old out of print books, with pelley's stuff

just yesterday somebody mentioned him here, I' m not sure where

Interestingly, Revilo Oliver considered "metempsychosis" or reincarnation as among the "most suitable" spiritual doctrines for Aryans, or something to that effect. Maybe that was in his book, "Origins of Christianity." Cant recall. I'll bet Oliver knew Pelley. Somebody could ask his archivist KAS...

Thanks for the objective bio of Pelley, America's first fascist and the man upon whose shoulders GLR stood.

"...I learned that [Pelley's] only biography was written eighteen years ago, an obscure university thesis by a hostile postgraduate student. Some scattered fragments of additional data came from xeroxes of Pelley's own moldering publications, via dusty library archives. Everything about him has been tossed into a genuine Memory Hole, no less thorough in its destruction but far more real then Orwell's model. The Big Brother who blots out all information about William Dudley Pelley is the same controller of the past who makes sure there are plenty of school books and pseudo-documentaries for television and the movies extolling the "greatness" of Marin Luther King, Jr. or Malcolm X."

The fact is, oddly enough, that Pelley's personal papers can be found in the archives of the public library in Asheville, NC. Some pro-White historian should research this great American's life objectively, from a pro-White perspective, before these historical papers are lifted by some Jewish sneak thief, then genuinely lost down the Stygian Memory Hole.

"[The Silver Shirts'] North Carolina unit (the legion's largest headquarters and the closest thing they had to a national office) was raided by federal marshals, its properties, including printing presses, confiscated, its residents arrested and jailed on a variety of contrived charges, all of which were dismissed but only after long months of financially draining court proceedings. Even so, none of the confiscated materials, as well as the legally owned building itself, were returned to the impoverished Silver Shirts; they were told by the smiling judge that they had the right to sue the government for damages.

Hard on the heels of the North Carolina raid, Congressman Dickstein (New York) called for a national ban on public display of the Silver Shirt uniform. The Chief [WDP] was quick to respond: 'Any kike who thinks he can tell me what kind of shirt I can wear, or that I can't war a scarlet L on it, will get a punch in his nose that he'll remember until he lands in Abraham's bosom!'..."

Wow! Looks like I missed the boat by about a month.

I just sung the praises of Pelley and included a pile of links to some of his writing in a thread called Our Enemies Choose Our Heroes... and was informed about this discussion.

Guess that memory hole burps once in a while :)

I have a personal library of Pelley material numbering, I would figure, over a hundred items. I know a few of the last remaining Silvershirts personally and have tried my best over the last 10 years to share any information as best I can. I know of only about 3 other fanatical devotees within the movement. I have heard Ernst Zundel is one of them.

I suspect Oliver knew Pelley or was at least well-versed in his writings. Most everyone of the previous generation's movement was. I'd like to hear what Richard Butler has to say about him, since he was a Silvershirt.
