C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile\bookmarks.html
Hurry before they get overwritten by auto backup.
Copy the file.

Check to see if you accidentally switched profiles.
Copy and paste this into your "Run" box inside the windows start button: firefox.exe -ProfileManager
See if you have more than one profile when the profile manager pops up.

I tried that and only the default came up. :( It's sad but I guess from now on I will secure my bookmarks better like save them to an email or something but thanks for helping me. :)

Same thing happened to me - lost my entire favs list with Foxfire. It gave me a message like; sorry man, it's rare but it happens. I still use Foxfire though, it don't freeze all the time like IE.

:o At least I'm not the only one who has had this happen. It's very frustrating for me, I was cursing at the computer, having a human chimpout literally.. but I've had worse happen to me.. much worse.

Just click on the bookmarks pull down, click on Organize Bookmarks, then click on File then click Export and save your bookmarks to somewhere on your drive, every so often.
I lost a whole shit load of bookmarks once in Opera when it auto updated.

:( Well at least I'll be able to organize my favorites from now on. It was kind of a mess before and not to easy to find certain things so I guess it may be a blessing in disguise.

Firefox sucks. Netscape redux. Opry or IE, stick with something that works.

This may sound stupid but the best browser I have found and only use is Seamonkey.
It is very good better than the rest is what I think anyway but with anything yes, you need to back up. I have had hard drive die before the things that suck the most to lose are bookmarks passwords and pics

heh. Subby, even people from MS have admitted that IE 7 is a dog. If you want a browser w/ IE's phoenix engine, use maxthon.
