In my home city there was one in 3 years and when he showed up people just looked at him like he was some sort of alien life form. Some people glared at him and some just lifted their head and walked away. It was pretty amazing watching this happen: He was just walking along with some dude (Maybe his master? Who knows) and people were just reacting to him in the most obvious of ways. I followed along for a while just to see what was going on. One guy had two kids in strollers with him , he just turned away (Probably to save his kids from the smell) the moment he saw the ape. :rofl
