I couldn't fit it in the title, but it was an approximately 3:20am dropoff! As Tyrone N. Butts might say- "Dat's Coaled (sic)!"

Police Search for Family of Abandoned Child
LOS ANGELES 6/19/2004 — Authorities today asked for public help in finding the family of a 2-year-old barefoot boy who told police that "Mommy left me here" at a South Los Angeles street intersection today, a sergeant said.

A passing motorist saw the abandoned child — "barefoot and a little dirty but in good health" — wandering near 120th and Figueroa streets and notified police about 3:20 a.m., said Los Angeles police Sgt. Beth Heim with the Southeast Station.

"It looks like the mom stopped the car and pushed him out with three diapers — ("Hit the road, Jack!" -Chain) kind of left them on the sidewalk," Heim said. "He told officers, `Mommy left me here."'

The boy — who wore on his left wrist a gold identification bracelet that read, "Mylinn" — told Heim that he was 2 years old and had two sisters named Devin and Keisha.

"He said there was another man in the car — a blue car," Heim said. "I asked who he was and he said he lives with the man. When I asked him what the man's name was, he said `Man."' "It's hard to interview a 2-year-old," she added. (Yo man! -Chain)

The boy told police that they "had gotten out of the car to get ice cream or drinks," she said.

No one had reported the boy missing, according to police records, Heim said.

The boy was described as black, "kind of dark-complected,"

a gold chain necklace (I must get the best version of photoshop! -Chain), Heim said.

"He seems to be OK," she said. "He's playing with toys and watching videos in the back. He doesn't seem too hungry. We got him a hamburger but he's not eating."

The child had "no obvious signs of injury," Heim said.

"At this point we're trying to see if someone, like a family member, will recognize him," Heim said. "Maybe something happened with the mother, and the kid got pushed out. Until someone comes forth, we won't really know what happened."

Anyone with information on the child was asked to call the Southeast police station at (213) 485-6914.
