Considering that most definitions of white racialist would exlude someone who has slept with a "non-white", and this boinking happened around 1920, I would say that you are right about him never being a racialist, but before this all came to light I would bet that at least 50% of white racialists would have included him in their list.

Strom Thurmond had a skeleton in his closet from when he was a very young man but I don't think it invalidates the fact that he championed opposition to federal anti-White legislation in the 40s and 50s.

It is hard to find politicians in U.S. history who are completely consistent in any way. Americans aren't big on adhering to non-religious doctrines, so the question of whether Strom Thurmond was a White Nationalist as a matter of doctrine is somewhat unrealistic. We can only say that at one period in his life when there was a consensus among his people that they were under attack, he responded to that attack.

This secret may however have had some bearing on the fact that as governor he put an end to lynchings in South Carolina. He was not the most radical of Southern pro-White politicians. I also wonder if the threat of a scandal was ever used to pressure him in some way. It seems very unlikely that this fact did not compromise his politics in one way or another.

In later years Thurmond had drifted so far away from his politics of 1948 that he even voted for the national Martin Luther King holiday, which Trent Lott opposed. I think he was a wily character who responded to circumstances with an alternation of opportunism and duty. He was not unshakeably committed to any doctrine. Strom Thurmond was a mixed bag, and I knew that before this revelation about the mulatta lovechild.

Thurmond was paying the mulatta since she approached him in 1941, with an agreement that she would keep quiet. Obviously the fact that she is no longer being paid, now that Thurmond is deceased, was a factor in her decision to come forth now. (Is this not extortion?)

The same article refers to her taking her place in history as the daughter of a senator. What an inflation of importance, but then such is the stuff of Black History. "Not seeking money"? That's a new twist. After all those years of being paid off, suddenly she's "not seeking money." She won't need to challenge Thurmond's will because the Jewish entertainment media will certainly reward her with some lucrative deals.
