Now I am not a huge fan of these per say for obvious reasons. However, my former boyfriend was, and I can sit down and watch all of these 3 films and be generally entertained.

I believe that the great thing about the last film was that you had two characters of pure european extraction fighting each other. The Terminator films are normally scarce of non-whites, from besides some police and out of all people, Dyson is black  but overall these are generally white movies. I admit, the third one could have been written a lot better, Terminator movies are nothing without Linda Hamilton and Jewish Edward Furlong, and in my opinion Arnold was a little off but nontheless I enjoyed the insane action scenes. I found I enjoyed them even more the second time.

I was honestly waiting for them to cast Vin Diesel or Halle Barry in the third one Lol. Did anyone else believe that would happen? Hehe

My favorite out of all 3 is actually the first one.

The first Terminator was by far the best one. It is considered by many as one of the best sci-fi films of all time. Terminator was a very dark film. Cameron used very effective slow motion action shots. Then unknown actors Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn were excellent and very convincing as the doomed young couple. By constrast, Nick Stahl and Claire Danes had no chemistry in T-3.

I have actually been waiting for a sequel set in the 21:st century dystopia ever since that first movie's opening sequence-glimpse of it. And while I have certainly enjoyed the other two flicks, it bothered me that they were not scripted thusly. The ending of the third one gave me goosebumps, though. Will we finally get to see a proper depiction of the hellish childhood of Kyle Reese? Connor's first tentative attempts at military leadership? His forcedly aloof (pure speculation), yet subtly poignant, relationship with his loyal subordinate and would-be father?

T4 for president!

The first Terminator movie had to pay out $$$ to Harlan Ellison, tribesman, for taking his idea without credit . Got a vid player? Rent an episode of the old sixties TV show "Outer Limits" called "Soldier". Although cheap and black and white and pure hokum, it's still the same fucking story.

I think I remember hearing about that. The Outer Limits was a pretty flipped out series.

I loved those movies. I'll never forget watching the first one. It must have been 1985 or something and I was 14 and was just totally blown away. I must have gone around saying lines from that movie for years.

Nice night for a walk.
Nothing clean, right.
Your clothes, give them to me.

The 12 gauge auto-loader.
The 45 long slide with laser sighting.
Phase plasma rifle in 40-watt range.
The Uzi 9mm.
All.
Wrong.

Sarah Connor.

I'm a friend of Sarah Connor. I was told that she's here.
Can I see her please? Where is she?
I'll be back.

Fuck you, asshole.

Give me your address there.

Get out.

All the cutting edge special effects, especially for that time, and Arnold with all his memorable one liners. Ahh, cinematic history. The second one was damn good too, especially because of the introduction of the T-1000 as played by Robert Patrick, uber Aryan badass. The special effects were again mindbending and a buffed up Linda Hamilton was formidable.

I recently watched the third one again and it was definitely better second time around. I don't know why they chose Claire Danes though. The action had to be some of the best stuff Hollywood has put out and Arnold's dry, literal humor was definitely funny. The male stripper says "talk to the hand" and Arnold grabs his hand and says "now". LOL

They were all three great and belong in any film fan's collection.

Hehe anybody ever liken the terminators to SS men while watching that movie? I honestly thought how it would be mad if we could make machines like in the form of that Loken bird to, "Help us," so to speak against the other races. :D

Hey!! Those machines in T3 look like shite compared to the ones in T2! What happened?? :P

Yeah Danes was crap, she made it seem like a whiney teen movie.

Different director (not James Cameron). It would be kind of neat if Loken comes back in T-4 and starts wasting all the nigger bucks that try to come to, rape her.

Anyone else think it was a bit too gratuitous to have the female Terminator shudder with some weird kind of "mission-is-close-to-accomplishment"-pleasure when licking that piece of cloth(?) with Connor's blood on it?

While I could probably sit in the theatre and stare at Kristanna Loken all day long, I don't think her terminator chararcter was done very well. I thought it was tacky when her boobs expanded when stopped by the traffic cop.

I think it was a mistake to make Schwartzenneger the "good" terminator in
T-2, though the liquid terminator wasn't bad.

Despite my feverish expectations, in my heart of hearts I know that they will never be able to make T4 into what it ought to be - if for no other reason than wanting to avoid the NC-17 rating. In the previous movies I guess the trademark levity and concomitant "adventure features" could be deemed acceptable, or even appropriate, but for a story depicting the kind of travails (or rather horrors) we hear Kyle Reese telling Sarah Connor about, they would be - unless handled with extreme care - downright insulting.

It was a concern of mine when they announced a female terminator, I thought they were going to make T3 basically a copy of the film, Species. I suspected they may have her walking around naked for over half the movie and seducing and having sex with human males and then killing them or some ridiculous concept. When her breasts expanded at that part I felt that it may have been almost time to walk out of the cinema like I did that tripe Freddy vs. Jason. I thought the part where she tasted the blood was good.

I thought she pulled off the character quite well as far as she is concerned. But I focused on how the writing for it and plot could have been way better. I thought most of the problems with the film were with the poor writing, Claire Danes in general, and the new John being---just average.

Yeah I like those films. Sometimes you just cant go wrong with a kickass action movie. You know Lance Henriksen was originally going to be in Arnold's part and Arnold was going to be in Bien's part in the first movie.

If you like 80's movies, there is a really good site with all sorts of features on tons of 80's flicks. They have loads of trivia and insider info about The Terminator. It even says that O.J. "If it don't fit you must acquit" Chimpson was originally approached to play the T-101. Thank the powers that didn't happen.
