Report warns of pressures on Jews

A report to be presented to the Israeli cabinet Sunday says that the Jewish population around the world has failed to grow.
The Jewish People 2004: Between Thinking and Decline was prepared by the Jewish People Policy Institute. It warns of dangers that include assimilation, anti-Semitism and more powerful weapons in the hands of opponents of Jews and of Israel.
The Jerusalem Post reports that the institute hopes that this will be the first in a series of annual checkups on the state of world Jewry.
The report found that between 1970 and 2003, the number of Jews worldwide increased by only 250,000 to 13 billion while the total population of the world grew by 70 percent. In the United States, the number of Jews actually declined slightly during the interval.
The institute suggests that Israel must find some way to bring Diaspora Jews into discussions about its policies, since those affect the Jewish people everywhere.
The report describes Jews as thriving economically, with most living in countries with high standards of living. But it also warned that material affluence increases the pressure to assimilate.
I wonder if this true or just a part of a "we're not a threat" disinformation campaign for the goyim.

The challenge for world Jewry, according to the JPPI, is "how to maximize the benefits of external influences and participation in the global context, while minimizing the erosion of Jewish identity and commitment."
In other words, how to be better nomadic parasites.
