View Full Version : Signature Size??

Two questions:

1) I believe when I last edited my signature it indicated that a maximum of 1000 characters are allowed. Today it says 500 characters are allowed. ...??

2) I tried to change my signature and it kept refusing it, giving me the "maximum 500 characters" message - I copied and pasted the signature into my word processor and according to that program, the total character count on my signature is only 469 characters (yes, including BB code) ...

What are the problems??

Thanks.

PS - are we gonna get animated avatars back soon?

Correct me if I am wrong, isnt that thing under your name bouncing up and down?

Yes it is and it was a bizarre fluke getting it through the system. Took many tries and it finally allowed it through. Whenever I try to change to a different animated avatar, system says "animated gifs not allowed" so I leave that one till I can have another one. :D

Animated avatars can be very clever -- but if you've ever been on a forum that allows them, they can be very distracting, almost hypnotic as you watch the same sequence repeat over and over...

We want small sigs, not large. The focus is on the post, not the ten yards underneath it.

I'm still having a problem with signature character count.

I have a signature that I put into my wordprocesser and it has a total character count of under 480. When I paste it into the signature box to post and click "preview signature" I get the message that "signature cannot exceed 500 characters excluding BB code" even though there are not 500 characters present.
