Guitar legend Carlos Santana has accused the music press of racism - after they failed to adequately cover the death of jazz icon Elvin Jones.

The Smooth star was left furious by the lack of attention and respect given to 76-year-old Jones following his death on May 18 from heart failure.

Santana blames the media's obsession with white musicians for their failure to pay proper tribute to the Dear John C hero.

Santana fumes: "I'm really embarrassed for this nation, and for MTV and VH1 and Rolling Stone, because it was a very racist thing not to acknowledge this most important musician when he passed away.

"For them to play up Ozzy Osbourne and other corny-a** white people, but not Elvin, is demeaning and I'm really embarrassed to live in this country."

Santana used to live in San Anselmo, a comfortable, "bistro-laden", nice hilly-surrounded "pass-through" in Marin where George Lucas and Van Morrison and his parents lived. And he says he is an "embarrassed" spic? That's funny.

"Rolling Stone" has covered every variety of non-White musician for decades.

The pic of Santana with the initial post seems to indicate that he is a Mexican of the predominantly white variety, compared to most all the illegals we see. Based upon his looks and politics, one would think he is a Jew. Or is he one of these Spanish Hispanics living in the US who just can't resist jumping on the hate-whitey bandwagon?
