BEDFORD -- A 27-year-old Pennsylvania man was in custody today on suspicion that he had sex with a 14-year-old girl in her home after he had a friend drive him to Texas and drop him off at her house on Sunday, police said.

The teen had met the man on the Internet, and the teenager’s mother found him hiding in the girl’s bed Monday night and called police.

Police arrested Eric Gahagen, 27, of Central City, Pa., without incident. He was in the Bedford Jail Wednesday on suspicion of sexual assault with bail set at $50,000.

Investigators say they believe Gahagen and the 14-year-old met in the chat room of pogo.com about eight months ago, exchanging text messages and calling each other, Bedford Assistant Police Chief Les Hawkins said Wednesday.

The two arranged for a meeting last weekend, Hawkins said.

Gahagen had a friend drive him more than 1,000 miles from Central City in south-central Pennsylvania on Sunday and drop him off, police said. Gahagen apparently planned to fly back to Pennsylvania, police said.

Gahagen arrived about 6 p.m. Sunday at the teen's home in northwest Bedford without her parents' knowledge, police said.

"She hid him from her parents," Hawkins said. "Gahagen also thought he had been talking and visiting a 20-year-old."

But Bedford police said that the teen’s room looked like that of a 14-year-old, that she doesn’t look like a 20-year-old, and that Gahagen didn’t question that she went to school on Monday.

Gahagen is accused of having sex with the teen Monday evening after she returned from school, police said.

At about 9:30 p.m. Monday, the teen’s mother went into her daughter's bedroom and became suspicious, police said. She got the teen and her younger daughter out of the house and told her husband, who guarded the teen's bedroom while police responded, authorities said.

The teen had been hiding Gahagen since his arrival on Sunday, police said.

WTF is wrong about having sex with a teen? Check this out: the girl wanted to fuck, she even invited him into her room, she hid him from her parents, but the guy is found guilty (!) nevertheless. Justice, that is!

I knew this was going to be the case before even reading this line. Girls like this almost always will tell a guy they are older. He should have used better judgement, instead of thinking with, well, you know what, but I don't consider this to be a crime. They say the girl looks 14? How are they seeing her, I wonder? For her meeting with this guy she likely put on all kinds of makeup and stuff of that nature to make herself look older. I would guess he thought she might be lying by a couple of years, but likely thought she was around 17.

And that doesn't exactly look like a 14 year old girl's idea of a dream older guy.:p
