"A story little told is that of Jews in Hollywood's seedier cousin, the adult film industry. Perhaps we'd prefer that the 'triple exthnics' didn't exist, but there's no getting away from the fact that secular Jews played (and still continue to play) a disproportionate role throughout the adult film industry in America. Jewish involvement in pornography has a long history in the United States, as Jews have helped transform a fringe subculture into what has become a primary constituent of Americana. Jewish activity in the porn industry divides into two (sometimes overlapping) genres: pornographers and performers. Though Jews make up only two percent of the American population, they have been prominent in pornography. Many erotica dealers in the book trade between 1890 and 1940 were immigrant Jews of German origin ...

In the postwar era, America's most notorious pornographer was Reuben Sturman, the 'Walt Disney of porn.' According to the US Department of Justice, throughout the 1970s Sturman controlled most of the pornography circulating in the country ... By the mid-80s he owned over 200 adult bookstores ... It was said that Sturman did not simply control the adult-entertainment industry, he was the industry.

Eventually he was convicted of tax evasion and other crimes and died, disgraced, in prison in 1997. His son, David, continued running the family business. The contemporary incarnation of Sturman is Steven Hirsch, a 43-year-old Jewish Clevelander who has been described as the 'Donald Trump of porno.' The link between the two is Steve's father, Fred, who was a stockholder-cum-lieutenant to Sturman. Today Hirsch runs the Vivid Entertainment Group, which has been called the Microsoft of the porn world, the top producer of 'adult' films in the US. His specialty was to import mainstream marketing techniques into the porn business. Indeed, Vivid parallels the Hollywood studio system of the 1930s and 1940s, particularly in its exclusive contracts to porn stars who are hired and moulded by Hirsch ...

Jews accounted for most of the leading male performers as well as a sizeable number of female stars in porn movies of the 1970s and '80s. The doyen of the Hebrew studs is Ron Jeremy ... [H]e's the nebischy, fat, hairy, ugly guy (an image from his web site opens this article) who gets to bed dozens of beautiful women. He presents an image of a modern-day King David, a Jewish superstud who supersedes the traditional heroes of Jewish lore ...

As probably the most famous Jewish male porn star, Jeremy has done wonders for the psyche of Jewish men in America ... Seymore Butts, aka Adam Glasser, is everything that Jeremy is not: young, handsome, and toned ... Within a few years, 'Seymore Butts' -- his nom de porn which is simultaneously his sales pitch -- became one of the largest franchises in the adult-film business ... [H]e is today probably the most famous Jewish porn mogul ...

Glasser employs 12 people, including his mother and cousin ... Gertzman (Jay Gertzman, author of Bookleggers and Smuthounds: The Trade in Erotica, 1920-1940) explains that 'Jews, when they found themselves excluded from a field of endeavor, turned to a profession in which they sensed they could eventually thrive by cooperating with colleagues in a community of effort' ... The adult entertainment business required something that Jews possessed in abundance: chutzpah .. Of course, the large number of Jews in porn were mainly motivated by the desire to make profits ... As Abraham H. Foxman, National Director of the ADL, commented, 'Those Jews who enter the pornography industry have done so as individuals pursuing the American dream" ...

Sturman ... identified as a Jew -- was a generous donator to Jewish charities -- and the performer Richard Pacheco was once interviewed to be a rabbinical student ... Is there a deeper reason, beyond the mere financial, as to why Jews in particular have become involved in porn? There is surely an element of rebellion in Jewish X-rated participation. It's very taboo and [its] forbidden nature serves to make it attractive.

As I have written in these pages before, treyf signifies 'the whole world of forbidden sexuality, the sexuality of the goyim, and there all the delights are imagined to lie ..." Extending the subversive thesis, Jewish involvement in the X-rated industry can be seen as a proverbial two fingers to the entire WASP establishment. Some porn stars viewed themselves as frontline fighters in the spiritual battle between Christian America and secular humanism.

According to [Luke] Ford, Jewish X-rated actors often brag about their 'joy in being anarchic, sexual gadflies to the puritanical beast'. Jewish involvement in porn, by this argument, is the result of an atavistic hatred of Christian authority: they are trying to weaken the dominant culture in America by moral subversion ...

Al Goldstein, the publisher of Screw magazine, said (on lukeford.com), 'The only reason that Jews are in pornography is that we think that Christ sucks. Catholicism sucks. We don't believe in authoritarianism." Pornography thus becomes a way of defiling Christian culture and, as it penetrates to the very heart of the American mainstream (and is no doubt consumed by those very same WASPs), its subversive character becomes more charged ...

It is a case of the traditional revolutionary/radical drive of immigrant Jews in America being channeled into sexual rather than leftist politics. Just as Jews have been disproportionately represented in radical movements over the years, so they are disproportionately represented in the porn industry. Jews in America have been sexual revolutionaries. A large amount of the material on sexual liberation was written by Jews. Those at the forefront of the movement that forced America to adopt a more liberal view of sex were Jewish ..

Overall, then, porn performers are a group of people who praise rebellion, self-fulfilment, and promiscuity. What are we ashamed of? This brief overview and analysis of the role and motivations behind pornographers and performers is intended to shed light on a neglected topic in American Jewish popular culture. Little has been written about it."

Gertzman himself acknowledges towards the end of his book that his uncle once ran the most notorious 'dirty bookshop' in Philadelphia. For that matter, Sam Roth's grandson is none other than Prof. James Kugel, the eminent Bible scholar at Harvard University. If there's a more complicated and surprising tribe on earth, I've yet to hear about it."

"The story of the Web's most influential pornophile is nearly unbelievable: the son of an Australian Christian evangelist, Ford converted to Orthodox Judaism in 1993 - a 'porn-again Jew' in Fordspeak - under the theological influence of right-wing Jewish talk-radio demagogue Dennis Prager (whose Web site Ford also runs).

As a result, Ford's site is not really a porn site at all. It's a daily chronicle of how devout Judaism and devout pornology play themselves out in one man's endless public arguments with himself. Ford is less of an opinion maker and more of an archivist-chronicler, his agenda always buried beneath layers of deferral and ambiguity. In the piece, Ford turns the Jews-run-Hollywood riff into a Jews-run-porn riff, listing off the secret Hebraic roots of all the key players - Randy 'Andy Abrams' West, Barbara 'Stacy Mitnick' Dare. He also feeds the age-old anti-Semitic connection that Hitler turned into grounds for genocide in Mein Kampf - Jews as dirty, parasitic merchants of smut, disease, and moral pollution - by emphasizing the high number of Jewish porn publishers throughout smut's history."

Hans Burger (Cybermedia.nl) calls me Tuesday morning, July 26, 2005.

Hans: "I was reading your article. I don't know where all this garbage comes from. I'm just a decent guy. I wonder who all these people are who are telling these stories in your article. I went to court with all of them. If I had an army, I'd send the army after them. I wouldn't bring them to court.

"This Aussie Scott Phillips. He's a bloody liar. I've never met the guy. I only know that he had WTFRC [Who The F--- Really Cares, an operation that stole content and hijacked websites to send the traffic to WTFRC's owners' porn sites]. This guy was so brutal he even hijacked my sites."

Scott Phillips says he had nothing to do with WTFRC. I believe it was Greg Lasrado who made millions from the WTFRC.

Hans: "Then I went after everybody [who was stealing Burger's content]. I went after iBill and CCBill [who were profiting from sites using stolent content]. I spent $1.5 million with an attorney (Clay Chavers law firm in Washington D.C.) in the U.S. to do my copyrights. People thought that nobody would do a court case with animal stuff. Well, my copyrights belong to me.

"If you make child pornography, that is forbidden by the law. But the copyright is your's.

"I took everybody to court. There were kids 20-years old who were making millions of dollars from my stuff. I'm in the business for 30-years. Why should I split my money with a 20-year old who's never worked? When I catch them, I give them the choice between closing their website or taking 50% of the revenue from their website (and the rest goes to the credit card processing fee and to Burger). I will do the hosting. I will take care of the money. Because it's my stuff. I shot the stuff.

[Hans may not have taken everybody to court. He just gave them an offer they could not refuse. I've been told he didn't ask for 50%, but 60%. In addition, the sites had to pay him 60% of what they ever made in the past with Ibill/Ccbill.]

"This is why everybody is pissed off at me. Because I stand behind my stuff."

How many people did you have to sue?

"In Europe, about 25 cases. I won almost all of them. I sued about five people in the United States. When iBill and CCBill didn't want to [stop processing for sites stealing Burger's content], I sued iBill and CCBill. [These suits were settled.] Then they began to be afraid.

"What would you do if I stole your car and drove in front of your house and said, 'Bye, bye, Luke. This is your car but you can't touch it.'"

I'd call the police or I'd sue you.

"I couldn't call the police. I had to sue them."

Did you have to sue Scott Phillips?

"No. I closed him down [a site of Scott's that was using stolen content] right away using iBill. That's why the guy is so angry.

"He has an army of karate kids. Why is he so afraid of me? Why doesn't he come over to Holland you can be the witness?

"I warned them all. I said, please shut down or remove the [stolen] pictures. Everybody was s------ on me. Then I went behind them [to their credit card processor]. Even if I had to go to VISA and MC.

"I teach my [four] children not to steal from anybody. My children never touch somebody else's stuff. I was brought up like this.

"I don't like the false information that you put out. That I own savagerape.com. That is a guy that I've sued. I'm not the owner of Webcom Billing. That is also a guy I've sued. I'm not the owner of VSX Billing [which processes credit cards for such sites as savagerape.com]. I don't own Zoodollars.com. That is also a guy I've sued.

[I can't find any record of Hans Burger suing the above companies. Perhaps he meant that he sent them threats of filing suit.]

"These people who don't like me say lies and they've found an outlet in you and GFY.

"I was in Brazil. I had a big house there. But I was never arrested for child pornography.

"Thirty years ago, I shot my first animal films. Why don't these guys [who steal Burger's content] put their own wife on the dog or the horse and make films? These people are so stupid they can't even make a film."

So you don't own any rape sites?

"The only one I have is Facesofsex.com. And of course sickrape.com. I've made a lot of rape films [this is simulated, all the actors sign their consent and are paid to perform]. I have a big distribution network all over the world. I'm a wholesaler. I sell millions of DVDs a year.

"Of course this is not really rape. That is so stupid. Where are all the complaints by police stations in Holland that the girls are being raped? Luke, let your brain work. It's all fake. Have you ever heard of putting on red lipstick and beating the girl on the ass? I know all the tricks. You know how we make a piss film? Water and yellow lemonade."

How did the rumor get started that you have your own [Serbian] army?

"I don't know. I was one time in Romania with my wife and some friends. I have a staff of 35 people working here who do only websites. You could call it an army.

"I don't have my own bank. My bank is the Dutch National Bank. You can't open a bank just like that. You need a license to become a bank.

"All my partners are happy with me. I'm the only one processings these things [extreme niches such as bestiality] for them. They've been thrown out by everybody everywhere.

"We have different merchant accounts [to process credit cards]. I'm a little bit more expensive than other [credit card processors] but I take the risk.

"Celebrity sites are getting closed down [if they aren't done legally, MrSkin.com is a legal celebrity site]. This whole industry is going down because they are only giving 25 pictures and five MPEGs and they make you pay $29 [a month]. They're destroying the industry.

"In the past, I was selling a book with 46 pages for $29. Now I have to give more 100,000 pictures and 100,000 films for $29 [for a month's membership to the website]. When we had books and films and videos only, and not the internet, then we were making good money.

"Thirty years ago, people thought you would go to prison if you made [bestiality] films. But I found something in the law [to permit it]."

Do you have the only company that processes credit cards for bestiality sites?

"No. There are about 20."

Hans says he owns about 90% of the bestiality industry.

A source writes: "He used to own about 90% of the bestiality industry, but times have changed. Online it's now only like 15% - 20% that he owns, probably not even. With DVD/Video distribution he probably is still very big (maybe 70% - 80%)."

Hans says: "I know all my competitors. They're all delivering s--- sites. They're destroying this market.

"I do all kinds of niches. S------, pissing, rape, teeny stuff, hard S-M, spanking. Every niche you want, I've had it for many years. I've produced 15,000 films in my life. I produce 100 films every month.

Sometimes you pick out these girls. Every producers would love to see a girl who looks like she's 12 years getting f---ed by five negroes as long as she's 18 years old or older.

"I can show you girls in pictures who look like they're 15 years old who are more than 24.

"They say I do rape films. It's not real rape. I have three daughters, 18, 17, and 5. I have a son of 24 years. What do you think my girls would think about this?

"Fat Charles [Charles Geerts] is one of my best friends. Because Charles was doing the Mafia stuff, they're always thinking I'm the same guy. Of course we back up each other. It has nothing to do with Mafia. It's only protecting your merchandise.

"I have all the stuff from Fat Charlie on the internet. I own the rights because all the films Charlie had coming from Europe were mine.

"I am the only guy in the world who's going after Mastercard and VISA. I've been to court with them twice and I won. The industry should be happy with me. Without me, there would be more niches closed down already.

"I went to the Dutch National Bank and asked, is Mastercard like a payment system or is it just like money?"

In the US, the online industry fears that Mastercard and VISA will cut them off.

"They can't do that. It would be an anti-trust violation. That's the reason that VISA is still accepting animals. We went to court with other companies. VISA had to admit that it will stay [processing bestiality]. MasterCard had to go because it has a lot of Catholics behind them.

"I'm the only guy who's fighting for everybody about this thing. Everybody's talking about it but nobody does anything."

I know at least three other companies that also have taken legal action or that are currently in lawsuits because Interpay (Paysquare) stopped (under pressure from Mastercard) processing Mastercard transactions for bestiality websites and products.

Hans: "Because I was the guy who closed down iBill and CCBill [from processing for bestiality], I know exactly how to do this.

"IBill still wants to go to Europe. I ordered them not to go to Europe [to process for bestiality]. I ordered them not to. They were making a lot of money from my stuff [websites that stole Burger's content and then charged people to view it]. I will put a ban on them. Later on, we came to angreement. They know that I know the processors in Holland, the freeest country in the world.

"There were people in the US who owed me $17 million when they went bankrupt.

"If they say that VISA and Mastercard is the same as money, then they have a big problem. They can't say that they won't process for animals. Everywhere in the world you can buy my films. You can pay with credit cards. But you can't pay with a credit card to come into my site because it's animals? We call that discrimination in Holland.

"If VISA/MC are the same as money, then it is not written on your dollars or on my Euros that you are not allowed to use this currency to buy porn. Everywhere VISA/MC make these commercials saying you can buy with these credit cards what you want. So this is false information that they're giving.

"The only reason that Mastercard doesn't have to process for bestiality sites is that they have a contract where they can say, we don't want to work with you anymore."

Content Hire writes 1/20/05 on GFY:

The European owner of LivefromBrasil.com and Bestialitylive.com was [in trouble] in November last year. He owns 20 studios in Brasil feeding his sites and others with livefeeds, hardcore, transsexuals, bizarre and animalshows. 30 cops entered the house after a tip from an ex-employer who was fired. All equipment is confiscated and will be used in the trial. I was always thinking that Brasil was a good country for the porn industry but it could be tricky as you see.

Hans Burger's website Cybermedia.nl replies: "The truth about what happened with Livefrombrasil.com The first part of the letter in Portuguese (down this page) declares that the police had a suspicion about the company in Brazil where the studios resided. They tapped the phone lines and made a bust into the house where the studios are. They thought they would find drugs and under aged girls. But as you can read at the last (red) part; they didn't find anything illegal until now. Everybody was released and the accusations were dropped (nobody is held in custody anymore)."

Jer writes on GFY: "I know that Brazil and The Netherlands are the two countries where most of the bestiality content is shot."

On September 11, 2002, I spoke to Scott Phillips (SexTraffic.com) by phone:

Luke: "Who do you have a problem with in the industry?"

Scott: "I don't think we have anyone. Oh yeah, Hans Burger. He controls most of the world's bestiality content. He has ties to the Russian mob. He sends his Serbian mercenaries after anyone who tries to sell to us."

Luke: "Have people suffered physical harm at the hands of his mercenaries?"

Scott: "Yeah. Who's the owner of bestialitymovies.com? There have been a couple of incidents of people going to Europe and webmasters being forced at gunpoint to sign over their IBill accounts."

Luke: "How would I get a hold of Hans Burger?"

Everyone laughs.

Scott: "If you call him up with an Australian accent, he will go rank at you. He hates Australians pathologically. His company is called Book & Film International."

Hans Burger says Scott Phillips is a liar. Hans emailed me 7/25/05 that he caught Scott stealing his content.

A lot of people say they've met Hans Burger but I suspect many of these claims are bogus. I know one guy who's met Hans Burger -- Frank Thring (LFP director Bill Wright).

A Dutch citizen, Burger owns Cybermedia.nl.

CCBill made millions of dollars from processing credit cards for bestiality sites. Then, in March 2002, CCBill was forced to get out of beasty processing. Burger now corners that market.

Burger is reputed to be richer than Larry Flynt.

WTF do you think DutchBill is? It is the venture between Hans Burger and Verotel to process all the beast that was dropped from iBill and ccBill.

You thought the heyday for beast was the last couple years? People who used ccbill got screwed, but everyone else now is under the Burger / Verotel umbrella, and business could not be any better for the beasty community. No feds to worry about. Host all your beast in the netherlands, process it in the netherlands, Verotel gobbled up all the beast business that ccbill and ibill had to drop. Instant millions. Although iBill has their hands in the DutchBill pie as well. But that kinda information could get a person in trouble.

For years, bigfunhouse - which portrayed itself as the most popular site of its kind in America and Europe - offered to members a free link to a second site featuring Webcam videos of boys who were lured into one or two online sexual performances, according to Internet records and customers interviewed by The Times.

E-mail traffic reviewed by The Times showed that, in June, the company that processed credit card charges for bigfunhouse - Verotel, which is based in Amsterdam - received a message purportedly from a teenager whose image was on the site; the message stated that bigfunhouse was carrying child pornography. A new book about sex in the Old Testament has been accused of fueling anti-Semitism.

The book called Jews and Sex is a controversial collection of essays on topics including sexual imagery and homosexuality in the Bible, lesbian Yiddish poetry and Jews in pornography.

It was written by Jewish academic Dr Nathan Abrams and is due to be launched next week but it has already been the subject of criticism from within the Jewish community.

According to Mr Abrams, there is concern that some anti-Semites could use the book to justify their hateful stance towards Jewish people.

However, the 36-year-old author, who grew up in Highgate and is now a lecturer at Bangor University, said: "War Propaganda made Jewish men out to be very effeminate but then there was also propaganda that painted Jewish men as stealing away, and corrupting, gentile women.

"That is why anti-Semitic people like the book - they say it justifies this view of sexually corrupting Jews.

"I did think about this before I put together the book, but these people shouldn't stop us from having a healthy debate.

"This is an academic work and I didn't just select stuff in a sensationalist way to provoke outrage.

Rome, Italy -- Italian and Russian police, working together, broke up a ring of Jewish gangsters who had been involved in the manufacture of child rape and snuff pornography.

Three Russian Jews and eight Italian Jews were arrested after police discovered they had been kidnapping non-Jewish children between the ages of two and five years old from Russian orphanges, raping the children, and then murdering them on film. Mostly non-Jewish customers, including 1700 nationwide, 600 in Italy, and and unknown number in the United States, paid as much as $20,000 per film to watch little children being raped and murdered.

Britain is a key link in the biggest ever international investigation into the production and supply of paedophile 'snuff' movies - in which children are murdered on film - an Observer investigation can reveal.

The key suspect in the inquiry, a Russian who was arrested last week in Moscow for distribution of thousands of sadistic child porn videos and pictures, was traced following the seizure of his products from British paedophiles.

Dmitri Vladimirovich Kuznetsov, a 30-year-old former car mechanic in Moscow, was identified after British Customs and police traced the origin of violent child porn videos found in the UK back to Russia.

Last week Italian police seized 3,000 of Kuznetsov's videos on their way to clients in Italy, sparking an international hunt for paedophiles who have bought his products. The Italian investigators say the material includes footage of children dying during abuse. Prosecutors in Naples are considering charging those who have bought the videos with complicity in murder. They say some may have specifically requested films of killings.

British authorities yesterday confirmed that scores of Kuznetsov's videos, produced in his small flat in Moscow's rundown Vykhino district, have been found in the UK. They are concerned that 'snuff' movies in which children are killed may have also been imported.

Around a dozen British men have already been arrested and charged with offences alleged to be connected to the Russian tapes. A second Russian child porn ring, which allegedly had a British distributor, was broken up earlier this year. The investigation into the importing of violent Russian child porn which led to the identification and subsequent imprisonment of Kuznetsov started about 15 months ago after Customs seized material coming into the country. Since then there have been dozens of other finds.

'We have seen some very, very nasty stuff involving sadistic abuse of very young children, but actual deaths on film takes it a whole step further. That is very worrying,' said one senior customs officer this weekend.

British paedophiles were paying between £50 and £100 for Kuznetsov's tapes, the officer said. Further fees were paid for access to a website that features pictures of extremely violent abuse.

Though two men arrested with Kuznetsov have also been imprisoned by Moscow authorities, only one of the three remains behind bars. Dmitri Ivanov was sentenced to 11 years for actually participating in the abuse that was being filmed. The others were released under an amnesty aimed at clearing Russia's overcrowded prisons.

When officers from the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department raided Kuznetsov's flat they found two boys in a makeshift studio. They seized a huge quantity of films and other pornographic material as well as lists of clients in Italy, Germany, America and Britain.

Last week Italian detectives moved in, following months of inquiries, and arrested eight people. The police searched more than 600 homes and say they now have evidence against about 500 people. Among the suspects were businessmen, public employees and a university student. Several of them were married, with children of their own. Hundreds of people are also under investigation in Germany.

The Russian videos, which had been ordered over the internet, were intercepted when they came into Italy by post, repackaged and then delivered by undercover police officers. They cost between £300 and £4,000, depending on what type of film was ordered.

Covert film of young children naked or undressing was known as a 'SNIPE' video. The most appalling category was code-named 'Necros Pedo' in which children were raped and tortured until they died.

Police in Russia and the UK believe that Kuznetsov and his associates have been in business for more than two years in which time they are believed to have recruited around 100 boys - aged between nine and 15 - to be filmed.

'Most of the children were rounded up from railway stations. A lot of them came from the suburbs, or surrounding regions and were from deprived, problem families,' said Kiril Mazurin, a police spokesman.

'Usually when children like this arrive in the capital, they've got no idea where to go and hang around in the station. It's very easy to entice this kind of teenager - with a promise of a warm bed or a trip to the cinema.'

Many were lured away from orphanages. 'Children are not locked in,' said Mazurin. 'Anyone can come along and promise them a meal at McDonalds. It doesn't take any more than that."

Some children were paid a commission to find other boys willing to be filmed, according to reports in the Russian press, for a fee of between 100 and 300 roubles (£2.50 - £7).

Kuznetsov had given up his job in 1998 to devote himself to the lucrative pornography industry. A self-taught computer expert, he was in the process of upgrading his equipment to allow him to e-mail videos directly to clients when police raided him.

Many customers repeatedly ordered videos from him. The Naples newspaper Il Mattino published a transcript of an alleged email exchange between a prospective client and the Russian vendors.

'Promise me you're not ripping me off,' says the Italian.

'Relax, I can assure you this one really dies,' the Russian responds.

'The last time I paid and I didn't get what I wanted.'

Amnesty: Israel failing to deal with white-slave trade

JERUSALEM (May 19) - Israel has failed to take adequate measures against human rights abuses of women who have been brought here and forced to provide sexual services, Amnesty International charged.

"This is so," a special Amnesty report on the trafficking of women from the former Soviet Union said, "even though many of them have been subjected to human rights abuses such as enslavement or torture, including rape and other forms of sexual abuse, by traffickers, pimps, or others involved in Israel's sex industry."

Amnesty International also criticized Israel for not providing a procedure to grant asylum to women who have been smuggled into the country often on the basis of false promises of work having nothing to do with sex.

Fighting the trade in women and bringing foreign women here to work as prostitutes is a priority for the Israel Police, but it is a very difficult phenomenon to fight, police investigations head Cmdr. Yossi Sedbon said yesterday.

One of the main problems is that there is not a law against selling women, he explained, adding that he is aware of the initiatives to pass such a law and hopes they are successful.

Justice Minister Yossi Beilin told Amnesty International representatives yesterday that Deputy Attorney-General Yehudit Karp is preparing an amendment to the Penal Law which would address the trafficking phenomenon and provide immunity for trafficked women. He predicted that the legislation would be presented to the Knesset at its winter session.

According to Amnesty International, hundreds of women are brought to Israel from the former Soviet Union every year.

According to Amnesty International, Israel is bound by international law and by international covenants that it has signed to stamp out the sex trafficking.

Police are arresting suspects on related charges such as kidnapping, pimping, raping, and assaulting the women, Sedbon said.

The other major problem is that the women are scared to file police complaints and testify against the pimps, he said. Since most of them are in the country illegally, they are scared to approach police. Fear of reprisal by the pimps further paralyzes them. Police try to get around this both by promising to protect complainants and by initiating operations to collect evidence against and raid brothels, he said.

An additional complication is that prosecutors need the women who complain to testify in the court cases against the pimps, which can be months after the initial complaint is filed. Since the women are here illegally and there is a chance that the pimps will harm them if they are left to their own devices here, they have often ended up sitting in jail until the trial is completed.

Sedbon said that they now try to send the women home and bring them back here for the trial.

Sedbon declined to comment on the complaints filed against Afula police chief Ch.-Supt. Shlomo Marmelstein and Tel Aviv police chief Cmdr. Shlomo Aharonishky for not acting against the problem, saying he could not comment on specific cases.

Sedbon emphasized that the issue is a priority for police and that each police district's serious crimes division is dealing with the problem.

Statistics police released earlier this year show an increase in the number of cases opened against pimps: 279 in 1997; 370 in 1998; and 506 in 1999.

Sedbon also said that only a minority of the foreign women working here as prostitutes are kidnapped and forced into prostitution.

Maryland lawmakers know pornography when they see it, and they know how to stop it: by threatening to halt funding to the state's flagship public university.

Civil liberties groups (all run and funded by jews of course) criticized Thursday a decision by the University of Maryland to cancel a campus screening of what is billed as the most expensive adult film ever made.

During a lively Senate debate on pornography and the First Amendment, it became clear that politicians were prepared to withhold hundreds of millions of dollars in state aid unless the public university backed down from a plan to show Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge in the College Park student union.

Senators' arguments were postponed several times as groups of young schoolchildren on field trips to the State House took seats in the second-floor gallery. (if jews had their way, XXX porn would be shown to our second graders!! They already teach them about homosexual sex!!)

"I think people were concerned about portrayal of women, concerned about violence, concerned about our students and decision-making processes," she said. "We were losing sight of the educational value that might come from some kind of exercise like this, so it just seemed like the best thing to do." (wow!! this person actually makes sense!!)

Advertised as a "XXX blockbuster" that cost $10 million to produce,(gotta love the jew logic here, since this was the most expensive porn movie ever made, it must be watched by our youth!! Damn kikes!!!) the film was scheduled to be shown at midnight Saturday. A student programming committee voted to screen the movie and, as recently as Wednesday, campus officials defended the event as a "fun" alternative to off-campus drinking and were vowing not to block the showing. That was before Sen. Andrew P. Harris, a conservative Republican representing Baltimore and Harford counties, proposed writing into the state budget a denial of funding to any institution of higher education that allows a public screening of a film marketed as XXX-rated, unless it is part of an academic course.

Miller, a Democrat and vocal UM backer, indicated that he would vote for the budget amendment, giving credence to the threat of choking off the university's financial lifeblood.

As the floor action became increasingly heated, behind-the-scenes negotiations took place between legislative staff and lobbyists for the university.

Harris, who said he has three daughters, including one in college and one enrolling next year, called the movie screening "an implicit endorsement" by the university of pornography.

"Pornography is not fun; it's poison," he said. "They (he means jews but cannot say it!) want to get our kids hooked on pornography." (well said!!)
At that moment, third-graders from Plum Point Elementary School began taking their seats in the gallery overlooking the Senate chamber.
Sen. "I think because of the autonomy that a public university ought to have versus the legislature, the [administration] should not have canceled the film," Kissel said, though he added that it was not immediately clear whether the film would have constituted protected speech under the First Amendment.

Likewise, Rocah characterized the university's newfound misgivings about the movie as disingenuous. "Yesterday, the university said they had no intention to censor this," he said. "Today, following the legislature's threat, they suddenly discover all kinds of things that are troubling. I think that ... ends up trivializing what I think are very legitimate subjects for discussion."

Clement said it was appropriate for state lawmakers to debate what films a university shows on campus.

"I think state legislators have the right to weigh in on many, many issues regarding state agencies," she said.
Sean Kibby, a junior, said he was glad that the university had decided to cancel the movie.

"It's almost a joke to be a Maryland student and have this happen," said Kibby, 21, of Annapolis. "To make the argument that it's an alternative to going out and drinking on Route 1 is ridiculous."

Four years ago, the university's student union showed Deep Throat, the well-known 1972 porn film. On Thursday, campus officials said the university would renew a discussion about whether to consider showing porn films in the future.

It is a conversation that Pirates' own marketers appear to have suggested. The tag line for the movie is "Proceed at Yer Own Risk."

The main answer is simple. Jews in porn, like most Jews in academia, media and entertainment, are Jewish in name only. They do little in Jewish life, rarely belong to a synagogue and ignore the Torah. Why does porn attract so many non-Jewish Jews?

Like many pornographers, Richard Pacheco refuses to use the word pornography.

"Working in adult films is the most righteous thing I do. I take enormous pains to treat people fairly, a revolutionary concept in this business, which is hardcore in terms of exploitation. That we've entrusted the sexual film to amateurs, criminals and drug addicts is absurd. My commitment to the industry is to stop doing crap and start doing stuff that elevates the human spirit."

It was said that Sturman did not simply control the adult-entertainment industry; he was the industry.

Eventually he was convicted of tax evasion and other crimes and died, disgraced, in prison in 1997. His son, David, continued running the family business. The contemporary incarnation of Sturman is 43-year-old Jewish Clevelander Steven Hirsch, who has been described as 'the Donald Trump of porno.' The link between the two is Steve's father, Fred, who was a stockbroker-cum-lieutenant to Sturman.

Today Hirsch runs the Vivid Entertainment Group, which has been called the Microsoft of the porn world, the top producer of 'adult.' films in the US.

His specialty was to import mainstream marketing techniques into the porn business. Indeed, Vivid parallels the Hollywood studio system of the 1930s and 1940s, particularly in its exclusive contracts to porn stars who are hired and moulded by Hirsch. As the king of the gonzo genre (marked by handheld cameras, the illusion of spontaneity and a low-tech aesthetic meant to suggest reality), he is today probably the most famous Jewish porn mogul. Seymore Inc., his production company, releases about 36 films annually, most of them shot for less than $15,000, each of them grossing more than 10 times that sum. Glasser employs 12 people, including his mother and cousin Stevie as respectively genial company accountant (and matchmaker for her single son) and lovable but roguish general gopher. The adult entertainment business required something that Jews possessed in abundance: chutzpah. Secular sex
Like their mainstream counterparts, Jews who enter porn do not usually do so as representatives of their religious group. Most of the performers and pornographers are Jewish culturally but not religiously. Many are entirely secular, Jews in name only. It signified their economic and social freedom: they were free to choose to enter, rather than coerced into it by economic and other circumstances. Once they had lain down, they could stand on their own two feet, particularly as female performers typically earn twice as much as their male counterparts.
Sexual revolutionaries

Extending the subversive thesis, Jewish involvement in the X-rated industry can be seen as a proverbial two fingers to the entire WASP establishment in America. It is a case of the traditional revolutionary/radical drive of immigrant Jews in America being channelled into sexual rather than leftist politics. Just as Jews have been disproportionately represented in radical movements over the years, so they are also disproportionately represented in the porn industry.
