I just got done with another brush with Mister Crash. Actually it's the nastiest bit of business I've had. Has anyone else used VCOM's Fix-It Utilities 5? God what a mess.
Thought it would be an easy way to keep this unit shined up. Instead it's been about 4 hours of catastropic boot disks, playing in my DOS shell, using system restore three times and FINALLY uninstalling this wretched "easy one-step PC maintenance" device that only seems to lock the system whatever you do.
Is VCOM generally garbage or is my Windows XP the trouble again? Has anyone ever tried "Fix-it"? I'm not saying don't, maybe it works for somebody.
But if you got Windows XP, I suggest staying away.
