Le FBI bientôt en Algérie
Le FBI pourrait ouvrir un bureau en Algérie selon le directeur de la police fédérale américaine Robert Mueller.
The resurgence of terrorist acts and the establishment of al Qaeda in the Maghreb have precipitated the opening of an office of the FBI in the region. As the director of the American federal police (FBI), Robert Mueller, said Wednesday that its services were open an office in Algiers in Algeria to cope with "new threats from the Maghreb."
"Over the past years the capabilities of Al Qaeda in the Maghreb (...) have increased," he noted in the United States Congress, the AFP reported. Mr. Mueller spoke on the sidelines of the debate on the 2009 budget of the Bureau before members of Congress.
"We are very concerned about the fact that while these capabilities have increased the possibility for individuals with two passports, for example French and Algeria , to visit Europe and no longer than a plane ticket electronic JFK airport or another airport here in the United States does also.
"Regarding the country which will host the antenna, the Number One FBI says "We have developed a good working relationship with our counterparts in Algeria. And this is the next step in building this relationship to cope with this new phenomenon of New threats from the Maghreb."
