I was browsing the want ads in a local lefty rag (Creative Loafing) this afternoon and came across an interesting ad from the SPLC. Seems Mo-Mo is having trouble with his website. :D
The Southern Poverty Law Center is looking for an HTML/CSS guru to join our team. Our ideal candidate understands usability, web standards and accessibility. The ability to create table free lay-outs without the aid of a WYSIWYG editor is an essential skill.
The web designer will work closely with design, technical and editorial staff to develop sites and enhance existing features. An interest in applying emerging technologies to the SPLC mission is appreciated.
Responsibilities:
- Interface design
- Page layout
- HTML newsletter development
Requirements:
- Expert level knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Understanding of web usability and browser compatibility
- An eye for visual design and the ability to create cohesive concepts
- Experience working on a team with back end developers
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work on a deadline
Candidates who have worked with content rich websites are highly desired. Salary is competitive and includes a full benefit package. This is a full-time position in our Montgomery, Ala., office.
Interested candidates should e-mail a cover letter, resume and example URLs to humanresources@splcenter.org.
Could be an excellent employment/infiltration opportunity for some aspiring WN web designer. :rofl
