View Full Version : Chainsawing High-Up, Big Tree Limbs

I have a lot of big, dead tree limbs, high up in the trees, that need to be taken down, and I want to do this myself; everything I read said this was crazy dangerous and hard and I should leave it to the pros, but I'm still going to do it. If anyone has any tips or internet resources I'd highly appreciate it.

The only sound advice I can give is take out a good life insurance policy naming Steve B as beneficiary. Or, hire a nigger and tell him a banana is up there.
Win-win.....fo me.

Get one of those electric chainsaws that extend on a pole, they are not heavy so they can be maneuvered up high. They will give you a 12-foot reach. I have used one on a 12-foot stepladder giving me cutting power up to 24 feet. I can keep it far enough away that if something happens I can drop it or stay out of the way of falling branches. Also I tie a block and pulley to keep tension on the limbs making sure they fall exactly where I want them to fall. If the limbs are in power wires I call the power company.
Of course I have experience with such things, if you don’t have the experience or want to buy a chainsaw then call a professional, they are insured in case a limb does damage to your house, car or whatever.

"Need to be taken down"?
Is a house under them?

yeah, hire someone. that's super dangerous work.
one thing I was always told is "never operate a chainsaw above your head." if it kicks you don't have leverage and it can saw up your skull.

I worked briefly with a guy who had just quit his job doing this very work you're talking about. He did it for about 8 years. It is very, very dangerous work. The pros often get hurt, and the fatality rate in that profession is very high. The kid I worked with quit after he watched his supervisor fall and end up a paraplegic. Near misses were fairly common for him, and he was hurt many times (sprains and cuts mainly). If you do it yourself and get away with it, you're still a damn fool. All kinds of things can go wrong, especially if you don't have the proper equipment and good experience. Save some money, if you have to, and wait to hire a pro, as was suggested.

Use a rope chain saw.

That's sound advice. I climbed a tree with a chainsaw one time but never again.

I have oak trees all over my property, with kudzu attaching itself to them all the time. Either the tree is climbable or it's not. If it isn't, get a big ladder. Don't listen to these pussies telling you how dangerous it is. It's no more dangerous than the things you should have done as a boy. Tell your worried wife to sew something and then make something for supper, and then do it.

I like your attitude, it emboldens me. I've done all the lower branch work within easy climbing and ladder distance without any problems so far. I need to get a sling or something to climb some of the trees now.

Good timing for this thread. I bought a chainsaw last week and took it out to the property to test it out and take down a couple of rotten trees. I was so good with it I put a dead 50 foot pine tree directly on top of my tent. I should have moved the tent first but the tree was supposed to have fallen in the opposite direction. That's the way it was notched and cut anyway. lol.
I cut a few limbs above my head but nothing very challenging. Likely won't be doing that again. Only have a few more trees to bring down but they aren't where they have to be removed at the moment.

OK, let's analyze this a second. If a six-foot-tall man with a two-foot arm's length stands near the top of a 12-foot step ladder and uses a 12-foot extension pole, his effective reach should be about 30 feet up, not 24 as the Duck is guessing. The Duck is not taking into account the man's height and arm's length. Another Ducky lie.
Secondly, if the Duck really had any experience, he would know that it isn't called a "block and pulley" as he guesses, it's called a "block and tackle", which I have and have used many times on trees. Another Ducky lie.
See block and tackle here with image:

Two blatant lies in one post - that's about average for the Duck.

Since I have actually worked instead of cheating white people, you don’t have the full reach. Only a retard would stand on a ladder and extend fully to cut something high up. No idiot stands on the very top of a step ladder, a person must stand at least the second rung down especially on dirt which is what the ladder would be on cutting a tree, that cuts a couple feet off the reach. In the south it is called a block and tackle, of course you have google in your run down apartment so that makes you an expert. You may have been a mediocre NA woodchopper but you have never been nothing more.
What if Kurtz threw a rally and no one showed up? Wait that already happened

Here's what I said, retard:
"stands near the top of a 12-foot step ladder..."
Hey, how about that, retard, I said, "near the top" , not on top of a ladder. Sorry, Ducky-boy, better luck next time, OK? Not to worry, as usual, you'll live to lie another day.
Oh, and like I said, I have a well-used block and tackle, or, as hillybilly retards call them, "block and pulley". Better luck next time, Ducky-boy. Too bad you refuse to man up and admit how often you are just plain wrong, spouting off nonsense.
What if the Duck never gave one thin dime or any other assistance to ANY White resistance movement or showed his face in public at any pro- White function .... wait, that really happened. After five years of straight-out lying on VNNF, the Duck is still without a single, known White activist's voucher. In other words, he's just another anonymous internet coward, typing from the safety of his Mammy's and Pappy's hovel.

You claim to have exposed lies when you only exposed a vernacular different from Wikipedia and your own stupidity of claiming to stand on top of a stepladder and reaching as far as possible with a power tool.
How does it feel that after all of the supposed activism you claim you have done that not a single person shows up in your defense? How about Slick Willy? He was banned, what about Sutter your former sock puppet? Wait he is banned as well, oh yes your old pal Chain, nope gone. There is always your little buddy J.P Slovjanski who turned anti-racist communist, you got along famously with him.
Now think about this, after all that I can say whatever I want about you and you can’t rally a single person to support your trolling because you are hated by most people here and most you have met.
All those rally’s you claim to have attended, how many license plate numbers did you collect for your “detailed files”? Isn’t that your real motivation?
Shouldn’t you be collecting addresses and credit card numbers for your “detailed files”?
