I'm not all that into this whole metal scene, and while I don't particularly like SlipKnot, I can say that if any kind of music was to be played louder, with lead vocals sounding more hysterical (no doubt in some misguided attempt at coming across as dangerous or whatever), or, for that matter, lyrics being just one whit more pretentious, it'd be silly beyond belief.
I remember in school we used to give the death metal crowd no end of grief. It's like, why don't those retarded-sounding singers like clear their throats or something?
