I've known several WNs who have apolgised for statements and actions associated with activism; for some it has been because of a genuine mistake, sometimes its been because of peer pressure (to 'toe the line and conform to a majority view', and in at least one case - Ive noticed a guy with his tail between his legs after harassment and a 'heavy visit' from the UK Special Branch 'advised' him to to apologise and tone down his statements on the 'web'.
