As there is now a "Civil Forum" and a few of the moderators have gone AWOL, I thought that I would make a few suggestions.

My main suggestions are Antiochus Epiphanes and Fredrik Haerne. Both are active daily on the forum and post intelligently. Fredrick has also written essays for VNN and could moderate during hours when most American moderators aren't on here.

Other suggestions I have are Draco, IronWorker, The Final Solution, T.Garrett, Jarl, Intrepid, WhiteAlert and maybe Derrick Beukeboom if he got on a little more often.

Since the Civil Forum naturally requires more moderation, those that want to be heavy-handed could just moderate that forum. Distributing the amount of posts that people have to go through would prevent any one moderator (think of Georgie) having to spend an inordinate amount of time on the forum.

I imagine that there are many others that would be good moderators. Suggestions?

I do my best to help moderate the CF and I am on basically daily. Sometimes if I'm busy with housework etc. I will just pop in for a few minutes and make sure CF is under control. Of course the decision is ultimately up to Alex since it's his forum.

It's just a suggestion, not a personal slight against any of the current moderators.

Good suggestion: it goes without saying Antiochus Epiphanes should be the first to be offered the moderator hat.

It does seem we need more mods in the civil forum. My observation is that only certain keywords are censored, such as the "f-word" and the "n-word", whereas insults, harrassment and mockery sail by no problem. It is easy to be uncivil without curse words, and so the spirit of the forum is not maintained now. I'd say it's kind of like a smaller version of the main debating forum much of the time.

I would also add Gott to the list, he's a good guy. But I haven't seen him around much lately. I would also add Rounder: yeah, some say he "talked to the feds", but in fact if you have read up on the case you'll see what the situation was. It's easy to be a purist armchair general, friends. Rounder has also shown himself to be a very decent guy here at VNNF, even when facing vicious slander by a certain unstable CI, which is impressive.

No more mods, we have enough now. But if they were going to stick up a new mod I would have to say AE.
FWIW, I'm of the same opinion as Dr. Antichrist on this issue.

Keep in mind too that Chain is on hiatus and eventually will return.
