Did anyone see this move? Did anyone get" this movie?

I didn't get what the hell was going on until I went online and read the "Philosophy of Time Travel"...which isn't spelled out in the movie.

I like all time travel movies and books, except when the future is niggerized.

I will watch Donnie Darko but it better not be about darkies.

Good movies with this theme I remember now are The Time Machine (the original 60s version, not the niggerized version) and Lola rennt (german version with subtitles).

DD has alot to do with time travel and multiple dimensions. You won't understand what the hell just happened after watching the movie....so you can look up the information online, watch it again, then it makes alot more sense...

And if I am not mistaken, I do not believe a single non-white (aside from a fat 6 year old chinese girl) has a speaking part in the movie.

Okay...

**SPOILERS**

1. A random error in the space-time continua causes a jet engine to land (and thus creating) a tangent universe, the universe in which 95% of the movie takes place

2. Tangent unverses are stable for only a few weeks (they are deviations from the PRIMARY universe), and they have the potential to destroy the primary universe along with it unless the artifact from the primary universe (the engine) is sent back

3. Frank, who is manipulated dead (and gretchen as well), help to manipulate events so that Darko will save the primary universe. (People who are killed in the TANGENT universe become manipulated dead, who help the chosen one to restore the universe, Darko being the chosen one)....so when Darko kills Frank at the end, he can then move through time back and forth in the tangent universe, and can help Darko. Yes, it's paradoxical.

4. To save the primary universe, the artifact must be sent back to the primary universe from the tangent one. Whether this is done or not, the tangent universe will eventually come to end...the only difference is that if the artifact is returned (stabilizing the space-time continua), the primary universe and existence itself will be unaffected...only the tangent universe will die. After this happens, the people awake in the primary universe thinking all their experiences in the tangent was just a dream.

5. If it doesn't happen, the tangent universe collapses, and possible taking all of existence along with it.

6. So events are manipulated by dead Frank and others so that Darko rips the jet engine off the plane (I don't know why they reattached the crashed engine to another plane...), and sends it into a time-space vortex, thus sending the artifact back and stabilizing the universe.

**END SPOILERS**

I realize it sounds ridiculous, but that's actually how the story really is meant to be interpreted...you can check out the DVD commentary, philosophy of time, and the official website.

SPOILER

Yeah, that's him. He's killed by Darko in the tangent universe (they are all in the tangent universe), and thus can move freely throughout time in the tangent universe....so that's how he can appear to Darko in the first place...because he's killed by Darko later.

Yeah, but I know 999 and some other people haven't seen it, so I don't want to tell them who dies before they see it.

I have seen it a few times and would say it is a brilliant film, i didn't get it at first. But the DVD extras helped me to understand the plot, straight after i watched the film.

This movie has almost a cult following among "indie" kids such as my ex-girlfriend. I'll have to see it.
