I’m a fan of horror films, provided they are done well, and the 1976 film “The Omen” ranks as one of the best. Made with a paltry sum of money, I think two mill, it proves that you don’t need a tremendous amount of money to make a decent movie. On the DVD director’s commentary Richard Donner seemed rather bitter. He was paid 115 grand to direct “The Omen”, but was jewed out of the points promised to him by the studio execs. This would have amounted to quite a bundle, as the movie made over 60 million dollars in the US alone.
Everything works in “The Omen”, from the acting, script, directing, and musical score, not to mention wardrobe (check out the outfits Peck and Remick wear to the wedding).
Most noticeable is the acting performance of British stage actress Billie Whitelaw as the demonic nanny Mrs. Baylock.
Interesting factoid: The boy that played Damien (son of the Devil) actually had straight blonde hair. They dyed his hair black and curled it to make the eyes stand out.

All-white cast. Good English and European imagery. Creepy but not gory. A+

The Omen was a very creepy film. The little boy was perfect for the movie, because he just looked scary. I loved the part towards the beginning when Damien's parents try to take him to Church, and he completely freaks out as soon as he sees it. It still does not compare to the best horror movie of all time, though, The Exorcist. I am wondering if the new movie, "the Exorcist the Beginning" will be any good.

I don't think "The Exorcist" was better than "The Omen", just different.
The Exorcist is certainly a classic in its own right. I like how it captured the flavor of Georgetown, and when I moved to the DC area I had to check out the infamous stairs. The stairs are still there, but the house is gone (built some type of plaza).
Exorcist 3 was pretty good. Great performance by Brad Doriff.

Taglines for The Omen.
Good morning. You are one day closer to the end of the world. You have been warned.
It is the greatest mystery of all because no human being will ever solve it. It is the highest suspense because no man can bear it. It is the greatest fear because it is the ancient fear of the unknown. It is a warning foretold for thousands of years. It is our final warning. It is The Omen.
Those who foretold it are dead. Those who can stop it are in grave danger.
If Something Frightening Happens To You Today, Think About It. It May Be "The Omen".
I remember The Omen quite well. I must have seen it when I was 10 years old or so, around 1981. Catholic bashing aside, it left quite an impression. Spooky sets, great use of hounds and dogs, British high society, enemies getting bumped off in accidental ways, born of a jackel, exotic middle east locales where Bugenhagen uncovers the ancient prophecy. And the ultimate theme, the devil incarnate on Earth to crush the Christians!
And of course the creepy little kid with the haunting eyes. I remember so many scenes but a few stand out. The outdoor zoo park where the baboons go ape shit, literally. The hunting hounds on the bridge surrounding the nosy priest. The nanny who jumps off the mansion wearing a noose nectie "Look Damien, it's all for you". The old crone who takes her place and assumes command of Damien's life. The two fearsome Rottweilers who guard Damien's room. The pregnant mom falling from the second story banister after Damien rides his tricycle into her chair. The journalist with the spooky photos showing anomalies. Gregory Peck the distinguished dimplomat. Driving in the countryside looking for Damien's birth records.
And a great, haunting, over the top score.
They don't make flicks like they used to. And it's too bad for cinema and movie lovers.

A great movie. The terrified reaction of Lee Remick and Li'l Antichrist to the baboons was 100% genuine: To make the baboons go apeshit, they drugged their head honcho and stuck him in the back seat. Remick didn't know how to drive a stick shift, so she couldn't get the hell out of there like the scene was written. Billie Whitelaw really did do a magnificent job as the Nanny From Hell. I read an interview with the guy who played the little devil a while back. Interestingly, he says that there have been many eerie coincidences in his life: Lots of incidents of the number 666 popping up at significant times, etc.
Oooooo........
As for the Exorcist, the really jarring thing to me was the fast, almost subliminal screen flashes of the demon faces throughout the film. The first time I saw one I thought "What the hell was that??"

This was very effective camera effect for the Exorcist. This happens during a dream sequence it scared the sh*t out of me when I first saw it. What they do is during the dream sequence they flash one or two frames of the demonic face, then one frame of the dream sequence, then one or two frames of the demon, then back to the dream sequence.
The demonic face is painting. I think it appears later during the exorcism. I think that one is an actor with make-up on.

Not gory?David Warner's beheading by a truck wasn't gory?
Anyway,niggers also love movies like this("The Exorcist",et all),not so much because they're scary,but because:
1)They show lots of Whites being killed, and no niggers being killed.
2)They confirm,in their twisted, childish, fevered, dementia yellow eyes, that "Whitey is the devil".
Niggers laugh and cheer at the sight of Whites being terrorized or killed the way they are in movies, their audiences have a LOOOOONG history of doing this.As long as there aren't any bruthuz or sisstuz being killed, they treat these things as comedies.Infamous Racist Nigger Devil "Comedian"/nigger "God" richard pryor, once did a bit about nigger audiences cheering everytime someone got killed during "Jaws",yelling shit like "GO JAWS!!!!"(Typical of niggers to believe that the shark would have a name). So they probablt whooped and hollered like the savage apes they are during this thing.
Is it any coincidence that there are lots of niggers named Damien, but not many,if any, Whites?Movies have that ability to make names so infamous in people 's minds, that they never name their kids those names ever again-case in point,"Psycho".Don't hear the name Norman anymore,do you, though I'm surprised niggers galore haven't named their "keeidz" that.

The worst bit in the Omen wasnt the neck-swivelling that would do an Owl proud.
It was when the Vicar, Limey actor Patrick Troughton got his head severed by a panel of glass being loaded on the back of the truck.
Pat was also great in his role as Mr Quilp in the BBC Charles Dickens series.

White Winger, the Omen is a typical Hymiewood attack on the Catholic Church.
A nigger is killed in the second Omen film, incidentally (The doctor-genetic genius obviously :) in the lift.
Excellent film anyway, i must admit.

I can see your point, but I don't think it's a good idea to judge a movie on how niggers perceive that movie. Niggers are just dumb animals. Naturally they are going to have hostility towards their masters.

Just like the little children of Stonehenge have towards the Christians?

The niggers love it when nature dispenses pain and misery on whites whether in movies or in real life, and yes they are dumb animals. But never tell this to your dog, he or she will be highly insulted.
Remember that shark attack a few months back where the cute little blond teen surfer girl lost her arm? Well, Uncle Tom Joyner, one of those butt ugly almost white niggers a la Colin Powell, had a radio song with some pals of his that mocked the girl's loss on a nationally syndicated ABC (jew owned) network radio show.
National Vanguard covered this deed from the savage African cannibals WHO DO NOT BELOND IN WESTERN CIVILIZATION.
