We may well imagine that such a barbaric punishment was calculated to arouse sympathy for the tormented victim among the spectators of an execution. Very gruesome...along with beheading (the slow kind). But man what a perfect thing to give to race traitors when the time comes aye? Why let 'em off easily with a simple hanging. Make them get what they deserve and burn that into other peoples heads to make sure they dont ever do it.

The Russians didn't shy away from this practice, some centuries ago. Their method was slightly different. The impaling object was thrust into the rectum only as far needed to start bleeding, as the victim was bound standing up. As the victim bled, he became weaker, thus receiving the impaling object ever more headwards, thanks to gravity :eek:

I think breaking on the wheel is worse! Ever had a broken limb? I broke my knee cap once--not fun! Imagine having them all broken! Although impalement is very slow and agonizing its more likely to garner you a quicker death than the wheel.

Yup. I used to do a lot of drawing and painting and whatnot, but it's tapered off over the last decade. Now simple sketches and ragged calligraphy like the one I posted here are about all I produce - and rarely at that.
