I know a way to improve the forum, and improve it immeasurably. I've never programmed a forum, but I think it may be possible to selectively make forum sections invisible to forum members who would so chose.
The reason I think it would be possible is that there is now a forum sub-section, Club 500, that is only visible to members with 500 or more posts. These days, that means anyone who has been a member since noon.
For instance, I would find it a great blessing if the below forums were completely invisible to me. I don't want to see them or even be aware they exist. I don't want to see or even know of the existence of any posts within them.

This morning, I logged on and went to New Posts. The first page of posts were nearly all time-wasting gibberish in these forum sections. I didn't bother to read the posts, but just their presence cluttered the screen almost beyond my patience.
Somewhere on page two, there was an interesting and informative post by fdtwainth, an excellent poster who does not waste my time. I almost missed reading the post owing to the nearly endless and pathetic gibberish that covered the screen.
Just my suggestion.
