Where can I find an thorough explanation for this? As it pertains to the forum.

Really it's just a built-in feature of the forum software, that tends to vary in its meaning from forum to forum. In some forumns reputation (it can go by different names depending on the forum software) is taken seriously, and in some forums it is not. I think that in almost all cases it tends to be used more for retribution than for building people up.

Here at VNNF I think it mostly tends to fly under the radar..... a lot of people aren't aware of it, and even those who are aware don't use it very often (or at least I don't, and I don't think I'm the only one).

Also, nobody should ever really take it seriously because even people who just sign up and never post are able to vote and affect one's reputation. It can be nice though to feel that you're appreciated from time to time, but overall, I'd say nobody really cares.

Here's vBulletin's documentation:

http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/

There's a section there on reputation.

I thought so but was just curious as to how it worked. Thanks for the reply.

I have never used this feature and it would seem nobody cares here. Let's keep it that way.
