The "West" or "Western Civilization" is a late period name for a somewhat amorphous concept. In some sense it refers to (oddly enough) Northern Europe, in some formulations includes Modern Civilization (1500s forward) and Medieval Civilization, and then again, sometimes is broadened to include all three major White civilizations in the last three thousand years.

Since the West - as it has always been used - has pointedly excluded Russia and is now, in corrupt modern scholarship (and over at gnxp.com) being used to include the Middle East, and always, always, always, by Christians is expanded to include the Jews, I think it is our job to theorize a new name for what we wish to preserve - or create.

Since Spengler, everyone has known that the West, like Rome, is only ever falling. Why tie ourselves to this plummeting stone? What new word, phrase, or concept neatly contains what is most precious about ourselves, which we can use to move forward? I begin to feel that "the West", a comparatively recent ideological construction, is not a critical posession with which we must burden ourselves on the way to wherever we are going.
